DO NOT UPDATE YOUR BRIDGE PRO

i just spoke with their customer service after my bridge bricked. They said they’re getting lots of calls and investigating this. So, turn off your auto update and DO Not update!

Update:
It appears that not everyone is affected. Only Philips may know why. There may be different revisions of the board. Nevertheless, the pain of having to set up everything all over is so great, that I will not ever update my bridge again. This has been the biggest disaster in my home automation journey in the last 10 years. All my original Hue bulbs that were my first smart devices, which I got more than 10 years ago, are still running.

It’s quite ridiculous that Philips has not provided a backup solution. Until they do I recommend not updating your bridge ever, or not use the bridge at all.

Hue Bridge Pro Bricked after Update

Last night I saw a firmware update and clicked to update. This morning I noticed none of my lights are working. The bridge is offline with a solid red light. ☹️

Has anyone experienced this?

I have 40 devices and the thought of having to redo everything…ugh
How is it Hue has no backup solutions?!

Matter.js topology vs Thread Tools

The topology provided by matter.js (9.0.2) in Home Assistant shows a fragmented network while the topology shown by Thread Tools is what I think is a more accurate view. Anyone know why?

There are two border routers there that are marked ‘UNKNOWN DEVICE’. But I think these are in-fact the same routers shown elsewhere. Sometimes there are more of those.

How to fix this?

I installed this engineered wood flooring 20 years ago and I’ve been regretting it for 19 years. Why? It’s soft; I drop a quarter, and it leaves a dent!
The heavier the object the deeper the dent. And here’s the latest during a dishwasher installation.
I do have some spare planks, but it’s labor intensive to replace a piece. So, questions:

—-> don’t reply if you don’t have a real solution. Replacing the entire floor or ignoring it is not a smart solution!

  1. Since the finish is not damaged, can I fill the void with a satin clear finish (to match the rest) to make it less noticeable?
  2. Should I fill with other crayon type fillers?
  3. This flooring has a distressed look (not smooth) which was popular before. Are these impossible to sand and refinish?

Any other tips are greatly appreciated!

Seees S3 Sense mic not working

I’ve been trying to setup a s3 sense to monitor sound levels. I’ve used the code from seeed wiki, but it’s not registering any sound. Camera is working.
This is what I constantly get no matter how loud or quiet the room.
Mic Peak' >> -0.5 dB
Mic Loudness' >> -0.5 dB

And here’s what I have:

i2s_audio:
  i2s_lrclk_pin: GPIO46 # Note: labeled as "useless"
  i2s_bclk_pin: GPIO42

# Configuration for the microphone using I2S audio
microphone:
  - platform: i2s_audio
id: mic
i2s_din_pin: GPIO41
adc_type: external
pdm: true

sensor:
  - platform: sound_level
passive: false
peak:
name: "Peak Loudness"
rms:
name: "Average Loudness"

Do I have a defective mic?

HOA late fees interpretation [Condo] [CA]

This is the CC&R rule: “A late charge of $10.00 or ten percent (10%), whichever is greater, per each delinquent Assessment shall be payable with respect to each Assessment not paid within fifteen (15) days after the date of delinquency.”

Let’s assume the HOA assessment is $500 a month. They increase it to $550. I did not get a notice. My autopay continues to pay $500/month.

Edited: A late charge should be $10 or $55?

Thanks!

Not sure what’s the cause, defective fruit or processing damage; but does it affect the cup? Do you keep them or toss them. My instinct tells me they can’t be good. This batch had many. The center bean is normal.

I turned off Cloud after noticing in the logs it was constantly sending data. Now the Shelly app says device is offline. Use Local Network is enabled.
Everything is on the same WiFi & VLAN. I can access it via http. Bug?

Rock hit at high speed and caused two rounds chips bigger one is dime size. It’s under the black edges so luckily not visible from the inside. Any recommendation for repair products so it won’t spread and hide most of it? Thanks!
