I'm working on making some old Warcraft OCs into Dummies, and that includes a draenei shaman. Along the way, I decided they won't be complete until I can make them sling some spells. Surely there's gotta be some fireballs and stuff... right?

Several searches on Thingiverse, Printables, and Maker World have turned up far less than I'd like. I'm not above just making some with air dry clay, but I really feel like I'm missing something. Can anyone point me towards some good printable fire and lightning?

Continuing from my earlier obstacle experiments, it seems like you can make things entirely from interlocking cardboard. Not sure yet how well it'll hold up to wind since I literally just finished it, but it didn't feel like it was going to shake apart. Like, I've worked on Starcraft costumes flimsier than this

I like cardboard because it's practically free and more eco-friendly than PVC, but it doesn't handle wind very well. But earlier this week I found a shape that seems to be stable, easy to make, stores alright, and is good to actually hide behind

It may look fancy, but it's pretty much just a bunch of right triangles held together with zip ties. The shape prevents any serious bending, and I bet I can build it up into something taller and more complex

So, I was wondering at church: since we don't really have grenades or other area weapons, could we at least partially recreate their effect?

Like, my group uses competitive-style cover on a fairly linear field with relatively few places to hide. What if we could mark an area around the cover where people could be caught in the "blast" of indirect weapons? In the example above, you could be tagged from behind cover if any part of you is in the danger zone when someone A) lands a grenade-type attack in the blast area, or B) hits the cover with a rocket-type attack
