My chameleon passed away- advice?

Unfortunately my little dude wasn’t getting better with help from the vet/medicine and did pass away in his sleep last night at almost 4 years old. I’ve never owned a pet prior to my little dude so I’m not sure of the proper ways of letting him go- I’ve read online some have had their chameleons cremated at the vet or buried in their backyard, has anyone had the (unfortunate) experience of doing either or have a more recommended route? 🫶

Sick, medicine not working

My veiled chameleon had an upper respiratory infection about 2 months ago and was able to find a vet whom took great care of him some type of oxygen and gave us medicine for 10 days and by day 2 it was like he was back to normal. Within the last two weeks he has started to show signs again (no bubbles or noises) but he is gasping for air and expanding himself like a blow fish repeatedly with his head lifted into the air. We have changed him over to better ventilated cage from a glass one (I know this is likely the case), have taken him outside to get natural humidity, changed his plants, and everything else our vet recommended. He is still lightly green and has been drinking water and eating but I still took him to 2 vets (the first one told to try a second round of antibiotics which we have and the second one today said that he likely is dying and it’s a matter of time). I don’t want my little dude to suffer and it’s killing me to see him struggling and I’m not sure what to do. Has anyone else been down this route?

Levothyroxine/Hypo diarrhea

Sorry for the tmi but wanted to see if anyone else experiences this first thing in the morning? I’m not sure if it’s a cause OF hypothyroidism or a reaction to taking levothyroxine (100mg). If you also experience this, have you found a way to combat it?

Chamelon keeps sleeping with head up

He previously (about 2 months ago) had a respiratory infection in which he was taken to a vet and we gave him oral medicine for several days and his symptoms immediately cleared and haven’t returned. He basks, eats, and roams normally but I’ve started to notice that he’s been sleeping with his head up (but he’s always bright green when he sleeps), is this normal quirky behavior?

Plant recommendations

I’m to add in new plants into my chameleons cage, I’ve done some research about what would be safe options for him but if I’m being honest, it was a bit overwhelming as each website/video I looked up said something different. Do yall have any recommends of plants your chameleon loves? If so, where did you get them? Thanks yall!

Inclosure cleaning

How often are yall cleaning out your chameleons in-closure? My guy gets really stressed out when being handled/taken out especially for an extended time like cleaning/replanting his plants so I try not to have to take him out so often but was never recommended a specific time frame when I got him so I wanted to see what most people recommend! ISO BB8 Charm Help

I know Pandora no longer sells them online or in the Disney parks but he’s one of my favorites and I want to add him to my collection. I’ve seen people online selling them but I’m not sure how to tell if one is a fake (besides the Lucas Films on the bottom instead of ALE). Would love any help in how to pinpoint a legit one vs a fake! 🫶

High Stress- Help

I’m looking for some input/advice on how to fix constantly having my stress as “high”. In the graph you’ll see that big dip last month due to not working as many hours and I also was sick for about two weeks so I had more rest time than usual. Now that I’m back to normal and going to work or running errands, my stress remains high/moderately high.
It keeps telling me to make sure I take some time for deep breathing but I literally am just in the car or at work (that I enjoy) but I am on my feet the whole time, so I’m wondering if that has anything to do with it as well?
I’m wanting to get back into working out/running but when I do so, the stress levels are high so I don’t know what to do to get it down and be healthy 😂

Day 1 wearing glasses

As I’ve previously posted in the group, I’m new to the glasses world with a mild prescription. I picked up my glasses today (I had them sized to my eyes/face when I had my exam so they fit fine) and when I put them on I verbally said “woah” as my vision felt like I was walking around tipsy 😂 I can see words fine it’s more like feeling like I have to take big blinks to reset/feeling wobbly.
I was told this was totally normal and it would take some time to adjust to it and just wanted to be sure that was true? Also open to any advice during this adjustment period!

Eye exam results

Wondering if anyone could give me insight/advice beyond what I was told already (I know every case is different but as someone who hasn’t worn glasses before, would love to see if anyone has any helpful info I should know as I enter into this chapter).

Results
OD Cyl: -0.75 Axis 140
OS Cyl: -1.25 Axis 035

I know I have an astigmatism (it doesn’t bother me beyond noticing that car lights look brighter behind me when driving) and I just ordered a pair of regular(?) glasses at my eye exam location. Should I be looking into any special kind of lenses?
If so, where do you recommend buying online from?

Testing for Hashimotos?

Just had my lab work redone (lipid/cholesterol, metabolic, hemoglobin, TSH, T4) after 6 months and doctor has me going up on my levothyroxine due to my high TSH. I’ve been reading up on Hashimotos and wanted to bring up the idea of being tested to my doctor (I would like to find the root cause instead of being told ‘some people just have hypothyroidism’). What kind of testing, other than my normal tests listed above, should I ask?
If you have Hashimotos, were there/are there specific symptoms/signs that pointed to having it?

Sincerely,
someone just trying to understand her hypothyroidism better 🫶

First time glasses wearer questions

Just got an exam where I was informed I need glasses to reduce the strain in one eye and in time, reduce my headaches. I purchased a standard prescription glasses to begin with but I have some questions going forward;

(For reference: I use a phone a lot for work and work under fluorescent lighting, don’t watch tv much but spend some free time playing Xbox and reading on my Kindle. I have an astigmatism but it doesn’t bother me to the point I would have to wear glasses at night but when I’m driving it does look like car’s are flashing their lights at me 😂)

  1. Are progressive lenses worth it/recommended? I was told it was more of a personal preference.

  2. Are progressive lenses better suited if you have astigmatism?

  3. I was told that the first two weeks will feel a little off as my eyes get use to the change, anything you’d recommend during the first few days/weeks wearing that you wish you would of known/done?

  4. Where do yall recommend ordering glasses from?

Thanks yall for you advice, I know this will be apart of my life now and would love any input! 🫶

A month off of Lexapro

My physical symptoms have pretty much passedand now I find that I’m more aware that I feel a little extra emotional now. I know this is part of the change as my body/brain chemistry is adjusting (a personal reason why I am coming off so I get it’s bound to take awhile) but wanted a piece of mind that others have gone through this too maybe? If so, how long did this last for you before you noticed your mood stabilize and did you find anything specific that helped relieve it?

Location for exam w/o insurance

It’s been awhile since I’ve gotten an eye exam and with reading more and have a astigmatism, I probably should go. I don’t have vision specific insurance (do have health insurance through work) so I’d be paying out of pocket so I have a few questions;

  1. What is the best store to go to for just the eye exam? I know prices will be depending on location but how much did it cost if you paid out of pocket? I’ve heard good things about Target Optical?

(I’ve been to americas best but felt like they were always trying to upsell me)

  1. I’ve heard of people just going to a location for their exam results and purchasing glasses online for cheaper, any recommendations?

Goodr vision problems?

I just recently purchased a pair of Goodr Mach G (Amelia Earhart Ghosted Me) and in store had no issues when trying them on. I put them on outside today and immediately noticed they had a tint on them (that’s fine) but in the sun it became like a warped-ish coloring and found that my eyes felt like they were straining and I couldn’t look at an electronic screen without it also warping. I don’t wear contacts/glasses but I was under the impression all their sunglasses were polarized so this shouldn’t be a problem? Is it just this particular pair or are all the sunglasses like this/does anyone have any recommendations on better Goodr glasses?

Website says “polarized non-reflective brown lenses” “

No points for games

Just wanted to see if it’s just me or if anyone else has run into the same trouble and found a solution-

Whenever I try to download an app game that is one of the recommended options from their list, it’ll say that it needs 10 minutes to verify and everytime I come back into the fetch games app, the download disappeared like I never downloaded it to begin with. I contacted support as I had played 3 tier levels to earn points while I waited for the verification to proceed and they told me to delete and redownload the app off of WiFi- didn’t fix anything and was told they couldn’t give me the points (even though I had screen shots) because the game had to be downloaded in the app (which I explained was the whole reason for the conversation to begin with) 🤦‍♀️

3 weeks into withdrawal

As title says I’m in my 3rd week of withdrawal. I’ve been on lexapro in the past and was able to come off the first time fine with only nausea for about a week and half. This second time around coming off I have had vertigo-like systems non-stop. It’s a mix of fatigue, dizziness, and sometimes ear-popping. I can do daily things but feels like I’m moving slow. I’m had been taking Pepto Bismo here and there for the nausea that came within the first two weeks but now it’s just this constant fatigue vertigo. Any recommendations for relief from it?

Bump on veiled chameleon

A month ago I noticed this bump on my chameleon’s head (it was more white/noticeable at the time) and we took him to the vet where they informed me he had a respiratory infection (as I assumed as he was gasping for air and forming bubbles with his mouth). They gave us medicine for him for 10 days and by day 2 he no longer showed any of the concerning signs from when we took him to the vet. After day 5, we did stop his medicine as advised by my vet due to the amount of stress it was causing him/how he was reacting to being given medicine. He remains acting as normal (eats, drinks, roams/basking, super green when he sleeps like normal) but I still see the bump slightly on his head. Any advice on what this could be/is this normal?
