An update on my FREE plugin COGG: I added crazy features and a Linux build in v1.3!

I'm a high school student who is developing a free plugin VST!

A few weeks ago you probably saw that I posted about COGG v1/v1.1/v1.2, a free plugin I built that metalizes and industrializes any sound. Specifically, harmonic distortion, metal plate convolution reverb, and pitch layering are there all in one chain. Great for experimental music and mainstream alike.

I wanted to update you guys with version 1.3's release! It comes with the highly requested TONE knob, which changes the pitch of the Metal knob's metal convolution reverb-like sound! Additionally, version 1.3 introduces a LINUX VERSION!

Of course, it's still free, no account needed, VST3 + AU for Mac, VST3 for Windows, VST3 for Linux.

Thanks to everyone who tried v1.2, v1.1 and v1.0 and gave feedback, this update came directly from figuring out what people actually wanted to do with it. I personally have used COGG in almost all of my FL projects ever since I released it. Please give it a shot and let me know what you think of the presets and plugin as a whole for COGG v1.4!

Also, feel free to submit some PRESETS! I'll add them and credit you on the website!

I remastered PEACE IN PANDEMONIUM by Lucy Bedroque!

I'm Plasmatic and you guys probably know me as the person who remasters C snippets. Well, I've done one just now that was in high demand on my YT. Note that the quality is lower than the other two I've done before because the crowd kept screaming much more in this performance.

We all know C ain't dropping anytime soon, so enjoy these in the meanwhile!

Update on my FREE plugin COGG: I added cool new presets in v1.1!

I'm a high school student who is developing a free plugin!

A few weeks ago you probably saw that I posted about COGG, a free plugin I built that metallizes and industrializes any sound. Specifically, harmonic distortion, metal plate convolution reverb, and pitch layering are there all in one chain.

I just shipped v1.1 with 8 factory presets so you can dial in different metallic textures instantly instead of tweaking all the knobs from scratch. Everything is there, from subtle texture (like the preset RUST), to full chaos (like presets SHRAPNEL and MELTDOWN).

Still free, no account needed, VST3 + AU for Mac, VST3 for Windows.

I built a free effects plugin that metallizes your sound, here's my story!

I'm a high school student who built a plugin using the classic JUCE and C++ combo! It essentially metallizes your sound, be it a pad or synth or even vocals. I'm announcing it here because I use FL Studio the most and I think this will be helpful to people like me who want the crunchiness and industrial sound in their production.

COGG is a free VST3/AU effects plugin that metallizes any sound: harmonic distortion, synthetic metal plate convolution reverb, and pitch layering in one effect chain. The main knob "Grind" is the driver control. Turn it up and the gear in the UI spins faster as the sound gets crushed. I also built in a live CRT oscilloscope that reacts real time.

It works great on synths and pads, but especially the leads. I've been using it myself to get that clanky sound in the beats I make as a lead.

Would love any feedback, this is my first plugin so I'm sure there's stuff to improve. Happy to answer any questions about how it was built too!

Here's a demo of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_ljbYP16QQ
