The Snowbirds just wrapped up their final flight over White Rock! End of an era for the Tutor jets

Did anyone else head down to the waterfront for the Wings Over White Rock show today? The beach was absolutely packed, but what an incredible send-off. The Snowbirds put on a full 45-minute display over Semiahmoo Bay, and the formations were spectacular.

It's bittersweet knowing this is the last time they'll perform here until the early 2030s. They're retiring the classic CT-114 Tutors after this season and taking a sabbatical to transition to the new Pilatus PC21s. Watching them today felt like witnessing a real piece of Canadian aviation history. It was also great to see everyone out supporting the CH.I.L.D. Foundation.

If anyone managed to get some good videos of the flybys, drop them below!

Hero dad stops his truck to save a young non verbal autistic boy from busy Surrey traffic

A young deaf and non verbal autistic boy ran into moving traffic at Highway 10 and 148 Street in Surrey.

A quick thinking driver jumped out of his truck to pull him to safety. The rescuer later commented that his dad instincts kicked in and he was just glad the kid was okay.

So many close calls this was crazy...... Big props to the Dad!!

***Update: "That's me in the video. As a father, my instincts just kicked in. I wasn't thinking about myself or the danger-l just wanted to make sure that little boy was safe. I'm not looking for any recognition or praise, just grateful he's okay. Please stay alert and watch for children around busy roads. Take care of each other. God is good 🙏🏼❤️" -Moti Johal

How to find retail work?

Hey there! Posting here cause I’m quite desperate and looking to hear other people’s experiences.

I’ve been looking for a job for a while and the situation is extremely dire. Very severe. I need to land something soon or I don’t know what’s going to happen to me, where I’m going to end up. Problem is, I feel like I’ve been applying to everything under the sun for months and I’m not even getting rejection emails. It’s just complete radio silence.

What do I do? I need something in retail, I don’t have any training in trades and am physically unable to do a lot of trades work. But I have over seven years of retail experience and a wide range of skills, at this point I don’t know how else I could be more qualified for a low level retail position.

Everywhere you go wants you to apply online and it’s so frustrating, because you do that and hear nothing and you just know that no human ever even looked at your resume. I don’t know what to do. It feels like screaming into a void.

I’m scared. Being alive is a genuine nightmare, I sob every day and pray that this will end. Is there a way out of this? Is it even possible for a person to land a retail job in Langley within a couple months of looking?
