Every time I hear Depeche Mode or Pet Shop Boys I immediately think of Germany. Not sure where I acquired that sentiment but is there a link?

I’m well aware that both groups are British and the vocalists accents themselves are clearly British but I’m not sure why I get the idea that this is what popular German music sounded like during that era. Is there something to this? Was there German stylistic elements in their music? I can’t remember if it was something someone told me when I was younger about that style of music or if it’s just a completely made up assumption.

1985 was 41 years ago. Am I the only that’s tripped out by that. Almost half a century. The amount of time that has lapsed since the 80’s is vast but we tend to feel closer than we actually are.

From 1985 to now is the exact amount of time from 1944 to 1985. I’m not sure why the 80’s feel so much closer than they actually are.

Why is it so funny to shit on Lars even though deep down we all love him?

I cackle at the shit people come up with about Lars and his playing and I’m guilty of calling him out myself. But at the end of the day I love the guy and his contributions to Metallica

Anyone experience this noise and know the fix? (Video below)

My 2020 Ford F150 5.0 V8 makes this sound upon acceleration almost every time. Lots of comments on the video say different things but I’m curious if any of you have experienced this and have definitively found the cause.

Is it just me or does the chassis and axles look narrower on the F250 compared to the F150?

Every time I see a stock F150 the wheels and axles look pretty proportionate to the cab width but when I see an F250 something looks narrower and the cab width hangs out slightly. Is it just an optical illusion or are the dimensions really different?

Would you eat this salmon?

The sell by date was the 6th of June but I froze it on the 5th and then put it in the fridge late at night on the 8th to thaw out. Has a slightly slimy texture, not gummy or clumpy, has a slight fishy smell and a slight hint of a chemical smell akin to ammonia. It is sockeye salmon

Are these areas toast? Feral cats urinating on my new fescue lawn.

I have a crazy cat lady psychopath who feeds the neighborhood feral cats across the street from me. I’ve been seeing a lot of them on my lawn lately during the day and just recently found these spots that are clearly urine spots from overloaded nitrogen. I’m furious because this is brand new lawn that took a lot of work and money to get going and these spots are popping up everywhere! What should I do?

What is this perfectionist reputation about Don Henley?

It has been said by many including his own bandmates that Don Henley is very difficult to work with and is a perfectionist and purist both artistically and business related. What are some examples of this and in which ways is he a musical perfectionist? Is it really him who censors every eagles video, or is it the label? Is he a misunderstood musician who is a master at his craft? Or is he really an undisputed A-hole as others have stated?

Is there something wrong with my queen palm?

Hey y’all. I’m in North Texas and I just planted this queen palm about 4 weeks ago. I dug a hole 2x wider than the base of the tree and about 1.5 ft deep and then amended my heavy clay soil with miracle grow top soil for a 50-50 blend before filling back in the hole around the base of the tree. I’ve noticed the leaves look like they’re curling a bit and getting some discoloration in them. I will admit I have not watered daily since planting 4 weeks ago but rather every other day and sometimes every 2 days.

Concerned about hyperacute T waves

31 y/o male, posted this EKG a few days ago simply for palpitations, but was not aware of the implications of tall T waves. I experienced no chest pain during this event just palpitations. Was at rest during event. I placed the Apple Watch on my chest in the V2 position for this reading. I will include a second reading on the second slide just 8 minutes apart also placed in the V2 position. The one on the second slide came 8 minutes after the first reading

How were vocals most commonly recorded in the 70’s & 80’s?

Were vocals typically recorded in sections? For example verse one, verse two, chorus, bridge. Or was it more common for the vocalist to sing the entire song multiple takes all the way through and then just comp the best parts?

Fellow hypochondriacs, has ozempic worsened your health anxiety in any way?

I am being treated with Lexapro for anxiety. More specifically I am hypochondriac and have the potential to get very anxious over unusual symptoms. For the most part the Lexapro has completely taken away these fears for me but I’m wondering if I were to get on ozempic that some of the side effects will cause me to panic. Nausea and vomiting alone won’t freak me out since I’ve already dealt with that my whole life but I’m wondering if it would produce some other side effects I’ve never experienced before causing me to worry.

I also worry about the prospect of not being able to fully “get off” ozempic if I start to have adverse effects since it’s injected and lasts for some time in the body. Unlike a pill or alcohol where if you stop taking it right then and there you’ll improve within hours or a day. Can anyone relate?

Anybody smoke cigarettes?

Wondering if there’s a link. I used to smoke a pack a day for years but have stopped back in October after getting PVC’s like crazy. Does anyone still smoke?

Zone 8b. Turf type tall fescue. Haven’t watered in about 4 days, only light sprinkles for the past few days, recent day over 90.
