fun sized top clone 🪝🌱👀💀

this clone took a while to root so I cleaned up the bottom and trained it down. i always like watching them satellite-dish-point their way back at the light source. this is the same plant from a previous post but i just came across this photo.

3D printed pole clips and LST hooks

these are my collection of grow buddies! i call them HempHooks and they pair well with pot grommets, rim clips, pole clips (all 3D printed) or can hook on to all kinds of things. they prove more useful in the tent everyday! quick, easy way to tame wild colas. 🪝🌱👀💀 i even use them to hang branches

bad things can happen to nice plants

man this sucked! I remember carefully training this plant for days and finally took it too far. she barely had nodes as it was, so it was quite a loss. I tried foliage tape to no avail. what’s ur fave way to try and save snaps like this? 🪝🌱💀

Best Wedding Cake genetics?

TL;DR where can i find some fire wedding cake seeds?

My little sister is getting married next year, my current run has 4-6 more weeks to harvest, and i think i want to do a run of wedding cake for my next run as part of my gift to her my future brother in law.
I grew a pack of barney’s farm a few years back and don’t remember being too impressed with it (but i also did things way different back then so could have easily been user error). anyway, what breeders would you recommend if i want a pack of the terpiest wedding cake seeds?

current grow photographed. from left to right:
•peanut butter yahmba (kid.kaya)
•vanilla berry band (westco)
•klingon kandy f2 (AWKID)

amazing LST! 👏

this is done by a fellow redditer and permission to post has been granted (u/blechbetscher)

ive never seen better defol and training in my life! no explanation needed. just wow. talk about inspo! 🪝🌱👀💀

X2D - what is this??

was taking apart my X2D hot end, removing the middle cover i think, when this spring clip fell onto the build plate. tried finding where it could go for like an hour. can someone tell me where this goes and if it is print critical? thanks!!

when your solution to every problem is another 45° clip

old photo from the archives.

looking back, i may have been slightly over-equipped for this grow. 😭😂

i think this is the design intent of these clips. thoughts? looks pretty ridiculous imo 🪝🌱👀💀

be honest… how many of us started here?

old photo from my early LST days.

string. clips. random anchor points. whatever was nearby and vaguely capable of holding tension. it felt more like engineering a suspension bridge.

it worked, but it definitely wasn’t elegant.

what’s the most overcomplicated LST setup you’ve ever used? Bonus points for whack photos!

How's it looking?

Not exactly sure what day it is but about day 24 since it germinated. Started lst about a week ago, topped 4 days ago and transplanted yesterday (yes I know it's a lot in a short time frame but this plant is a beast!). I think it's looking pretty good apart from the white spots caused by spidermites but I've been spraying with diluted tea tree oil and it's working like a charm so I hope it continues going well. Any advice is appreciated.

i can LST with my mind 😂

found this going through old grow photos looking for LST pics. i was ashamed at the time. i thought i had done something wrong. obviously this is genes 😂

strain was pink lady. i know it was awesome tasting. i think like country time pink lemonade 💕🍋

small but mighty “cannabonsai”

these are from my 2nd tent grow i believe. they are probably the closest to cannabonsai that ive done indoors. of course i know they are not even close to actual bonsai, please dont blast me 😬

love the look for sure. trained with not shown binder clips and hemp cordage. took too many nodes off the left plant but live and learn. hope there’s some inspiration hiding in there! 🪝🌱👀💀

Single‑plant monsters like this: worth the work, or would you rather run more smaller plants?

u/ Jeanhamel posted this a while back of one of their mother plants, and I never seen anything like it.

I'm wondering if this is a better idea than execution.

You are putting all of your time, space, nutrients and resources into one set of roots.

If anything goes wrong during flower, you are fucked.

I also get tired of smoking the same strain over and over again.

In a perfect world, I'd grow as many strains as I could in solo cups and get an oz of smokable flower from each one.

Which do you prefer, one giant monster or more variety?

redirect and twist 🔀

here is another one from my hemp cordage days. used bamboo sticks threaded through grommets as anchor points for the cordage. hemp and bamboo…pretty sustainable, huh!?! did a 180-degree redirection and some twisting on this branch. not functional, just aesthetic.

welcome to r/LSTclub 🪝🌱👀

this is a community for growers who take training seriously — and aesthetically ✨

lst, hst, topping, manifolding (v interested in this!) — all welcome here. what matters is that your grow looks intentional. clean bends, opened canopies, structured growth. we’re not here for the chaos grows.

post your setups, your canopy progress, your before and afters, your experiments. beginners welcome. seasoned growers welcome. if you’re training with purpose, you’re home. 🪝

introduce yourself in the comments — what are you growing and what are you training with?

correction: yesterday’s post was HST. here’s what actual LST looks like 😂

got called out in the comments and he was right — yesterday’s photo showed HST work, not LST. this is LST. branch by branch, one at a time, bent and held with wire ties. 🪝🌱👀 needs a lot of defol tho! this might be my second grow. note the 1-gallon pots 🤦🏽‍♂️

wire ties work but they’re not ideal — they create point pressure on the stem, can dig in as the branch thickens, and you’re constantly cutting and repositioning. but they get the job done and this canopy is proof. these are 1 gallon pots early veg — LST starts early if you want real lateral spread. 🕸️

the four-square 4 ◼️

old habits — 9 lb hammer, middle veg. binder clips and hemp cordage — the old way. you eyeball, you cut, you tie, you come back two days later and retie because the stem thickened and now it’s digging in or it popped off. then you do it again. it’s tedious but it works and the plant doesn’t care what it looks like. it just follows instincts.

what it does teach you is how the plant wants to move. every olant has a personality when you start bending — some fight you, some just lay down. 9 lb hammer is cooperative. thick but pliable stems (training after heavy watering helps), good node spacing (induced stretch can make this easier — hmu), responds suoer fast. one of those strains where you can actually see it react to training within like 4 hours. canopy is still early but the structure is there. four main branches pinned out, letting them run before i start working them down further. the goal is a flat even plane (no matter how many colas) before flip, every site at the same height seeing the same light. that’s what gets you some chunky colas.

this is from an indoor-gone-outdoor grow at our old house. I got more pics of the grow if you want to see. 🪝🌱👀💀

the wheel 🌀

this is what LST is actually doing. every one of those branches was vertical. you’re not just bending a plant — you’re reprogramming its hormone distribution 🧬 apical dominance broken, auxins redistributed, every node sees the light equally. the plant stops growing up and starts growing out. when you flip, instead of one cola fighting everything else for resources, you get a dozen sites all thinking they’re the top. that’s the whole game. bend early, bend often, and let the plant do the rest 🌿

cheetah piss & obama runtz — week 3-4 of flower, LST doing its job

flipped to 12/12 a few weeks ago. been running a grommet-anchor clip system i engineered for the training — keeps everything spread without zip ties or wire. canopy opened up nicely going into flip. second photo is one of the early flower sites coming in. stoked on how these are developing. got some good pre-frost 🤘🏽🌱
