My $65 “Beater GMT” Somehow Became one of my Favorites1😳⌚️
After wearing this Corgeut NH34A GMT for about two years now, I can honestly say it’s been one of the better “tool watches” I’ve owned for the money.
Mine is the 39mm white dial version with the NH34 GMT movement, and it’s pretty much become a grab-and-go watch in my rotation. It’s been worn to work at the firehouses and my office job, around town, traveling, working outside, and just daily life in general. It’s taken bumps and scratches way better than I expected.
The NH34A movement has honestly been rock solid. No issues with reliability, keeps decent time, and having the GMT function is actually more useful than I originally thought it would be.
For the price, you’re getting:
Sapphire crystal
Automatic GMT movement
Screw-down crown
100m water resistance
Solid link bracelet
On-the-fly clasp adjustment
Really comfortable 39mm case size
Honestly, the crazy part is I only paid around $65 for it at the time. Looking back, that was an absolute steal for what you get.
Is it perfect? No. If you’re super picky you can still tell it’s an affordable homage watch, but honestly the bracelet surprised me. The solid links feel pretty decent, the clasp has held up well, and the on-the-fly adjustment has been more useful than I expected, especially during long days or warmer weather.
What surprised me most overall is how well it’s held up over time. A lot of cheaper watches start showing their weaknesses after a year or two, but this one has just kept going.
I know homage watches aren’t for everybody, but if somebody wants an affordable GMT they can actually wear without worrying about beating it up, I’d absolutely recommend giving one of these a look.
Curious if anybody else here has long-term experience with Corgeut watches or the NH34 GMT models in general.
