If we could get a new tv series for a Disney princess...

I know many would like a tv show based around Mulan, Kida, Merida or Raya, because there is so many mythology and adventures to unpack around them and their worlds/movies - honestly, I wouldn't be against any of those.

But also personally I really really hope one day we can get a tv show centered on Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora or Belle - a cozy show with beautiful castle aesthetic and classical feeling, like the stories you could read in Princess magazines or the segments in 'Cinderella 2' and 'Belle's Magical World'. Except of them living in the palaces, Rapunzel, Sofia and Elena's shows just didn't match the vibe.

Of course another great idea would be simply to bring back 'Enchanted Tales' as a tv series so each princess can get a few episodes for herself.

My opinion on Fate comic deteriorated, but I still think its good they tried to give fans some kind of closure. They should do the same for s8 and WoW

Since season 3 is gonna be CGI, it will probably look similar to this transformation video prototype but more detailed and polished

I just know there will be a big hate storm coming toward the show once we actually get some footage, because right now people who didn't read press release fully and just heard about the show returning and saw the promotional image think it will still be 2D, and not stylized CGI instead. Totally Spies still gets criticized for its animation change even though the changes in the designs are minimal. Personally I'm just glad the cliff-hanger will get a proper resolution and think we should all be grateful the designs weren't changed completely like in Winx Club case.

Glad to see Raya is finally getting new Disney Princess style clip-arts

There are also new pictures of her in the magazine but I can't scan it right now

I'm kind of over the cast pretending season 3 doesn't exist.

I don't care whether anyone thinks it's weaker than the first two seasons, not as iconic etc. Everyone likes different things so opinions about characters, storylines, relationships etc. will always be subjective. But pretending it never happened is crazy, especially considering the brand is what it is today because of season 3. That's literally the season when the biggest merch boom for the brand happened across all the other regions than Australia. The reason H2O thrives even now, more than 20 years later, in countries like Germany is because of season 3. It's especially disappointing how the interviews, chat reunions etc. keep excluding Indiana and Luke (they of course don't need to appear if they don't want to, but they don't get even a mention). And especially straight disrespectful is ignoring Indiana, when she's freakin one of the four leads. The main mermaids! You can't invite Rikki to Mako Mermaids and have only mention two friends. You can't have reunion talk and only include Cariba, Claire and Phoebe without Indiana. Season 3 happened and that's it, whether anyone likes it or not.

Going off the first four episodes of season 8...

...it seems like the writing got much better, while animation slightly worse. Which is fine for me, since script is more important in my opinion. That is unless of course they decided to release all their best episodes first. But the plot points of all four episodes were really strong in my opinion and gave me season 3 feeling.

Animation though, I don't know if it's just me but it seemed better in season 7. It's kinda like comparing s6 to the movie, the artstyle was the same, but you could see the downgrade in quality. I could see it especially in episode 3 and 10, and the faces and hairstyles are so much less detailed now. Tbh I think season 8 was released very quickly, so perhaps they kind of rushed in animation department?

My one wish is I hoped they would promote this season just as well as s7. But even the main poster is so bland in comparison to what we got previously. On the other hand, maybe they don't need to waste resources on marketing anymore. I read that Gulli ratings are still very good.

I know they are not that popular, but I actually really loved their relationship.

And it's so fun rewatching the show from the beginning, knowing how Henry's future will turn out and his future family.

I really think they should remove the list of "official" princesses

I think it would be better if Disney Princess brand was more like what it was around 2000-2004 and how Disney Villains brand is - without the list consisting of official members. That way, the princesses we know now as "official" would be simply the most common ones with regular appearances in franchise's products and media, while it would also make it possible for another heroines, like Melody, Esmeralda, Meg, Kida, Mirabel, Asha etc. to make guest appearances from time to time and around their movies' anniversaries, similar to how Jane or Alice appeared in various magazines, games and audios in 2000s

I honestly love that they are doing all those '2nd gen' spin-offs for their old movies and series.

I guess the whole nostalgia baiting thing was effective in my case, since I started watching Disney Channel again after all those years. Sure, these projects are not as good as the originals, but I still find them enjoyable, and that encouraged me to trying new titles I probably wouldn't see otherwise, like Electric Bloom and live-action Vampirina show.

Rather than saying there is 'movie canon' and 'books canon' in Descendants...

... I think it's more fit to say there is not one absolute canon in the whole franchise, and when the directors, authors etc. create a new piece of Descendants series, they pull on the elements that fit their current vision, while rewrite what no longer suits them etc.

It's really fluid and there is no way to separate the whole franchise into categories like "movies", "books", "comics" etc., so that everything fits. Even the movies themselves include elements that contradict the previous movies.

I mean, the new Uma's comic is made so it fits into movies' timeline, while uses book and Wicked World characters of CJ and Harriet, and makes no mention of Hazel at all.

The Pocketwatch movies completely rewrite the premise from the original trilogy, when the original stories happaned as in Disney movies. Now Cinderella story for example happened in high school etc.

What's the point of introducing so many characters in Pocketwatch trilogy?

I admit they can be enjoyable, but at the end of the day, they don't serve any purpose and are only making the movies feel more messy, complicated and shortened. I could understand if Descendants was some kind of toy line when they want more characters for merch, but those characters are even completely absent from any promotions, cast recordings or dolls and other products, so that's not the case here. The original trilogy introduced a lot of additional characters in every movie, but they always had some kind of role? For example, could Celia and Dizzy and Smees be absent from D3? Sure, but at the end of the day we can't say they were undeveloped or didn't have any purpose. I feel like that's a big problem of Wonderland movies

Isn't Luna on good terms with Ambar now? If so, isn't it gross she's in potential romantic relationship with her cousin's former boyfriend?

Imagine Luna and Simon ending up together and the whole family gathering to the Christmas table in the future. Not awkward at all.
