Hoping for the return of wacky 007 gadgets soon. Craig’s serious rock em sock pound fest wasn’t that bad, but the lack of gadgets did feel like a departure from the vibe of 007 🫣.

What were the most iconic/favorite gadgets for you?

I was always a sucker for the watches. The Train level on Goldeneye N64 was a dream come true 🤣

A few notes after my first week with my first Omega.

The watch is comfortable as hell. I really forget it’s on sometimes. I thought I’d miss the heaviness of my previous daily beater but I don’t.

The mesh bracelet is stiff when brand new but it broke in much quicker than I thought. I swapped it for a NATO as soon as it wore in. I love the look of the Bond NATO, but the khaki feels more wearable for me.

I wish the titanium mesh had a quick release system. As cool as the spring bar tool looks in the pouch, it’s not as convenient- double edged sword I guess since I’d be swapping straps all day. I didn’t see it as a strap monster but I’m finding a whole lot of versatility with its color scheme.

The closed back-I thought it would bother me more, it just doesn’t. You don’t see it when you’re wearing it anyways. While I grew up loving 007, I’m happy the branding on this piece isn’t flagrant. If they made this without the 007 branding I would get it if it meant a price drop. I genuinely just like the way it looks compared to others.

I do find myself looking for the date,but again not really a huge deal, my phone is always nearby. The lume on the bezel and face in general looks awesome. I didn’t understand the date vs no date debate amongst the Seamaster crowd but now I do. All the griping about the fauxtina I’ve seen boggles my mind. The face is cohesive with a wonderful, vintage vibe. I love that it feels incognito - I feel safe wearing this anywhere at anytime without feeling like I need to hide it in a sleeve when the locale is less than savory.

The pouch/rolled canvas- at first I thought not getting a fancy box was a little sad but I love it now. I can throw it in my bag for travel and actually use it (vs sitting in a closet collecting dust).

Overall I’m super happy with this being my first Omega…I’m hoping I don’t get the itch for another any time soon…(Please pray for me, I keep eyeing the Pilot Speedy for my secondi Omega because it also comes in a pouch with extra strap and tool🫣).
