Is the Zoom H1essential a good choice for long-term voice recording?

Hi, I am thinking about buying the Zoom H1essential mainly for voice recording. I would use it for daily audio notes, lectures, normal speech, and sometimes whispering when holding it close to my mouth.

I care most about clear voice recordings and reliability. I want something I can use for a long time without worrying about recordings being bad or getting lost.

I have seen some people complain about the H1e making noise when you hold it, creaking, or having more background noise than the H1n. I have also seen people say the 32-bit recording is really useful, but I do not know how important that actually is for normal voice recording.

I would probably use a small tripod when sitting and a grip and windscreen when holding it.

For people who have used the H1e:

Is the handling noise really that bad?
Is it good for quiet speech or whispering?
Does the 32-bit recording actually help?
How reliable has it been for you?

I am mainly looking for a simple, reliable recorder for voice, not music.

Any word on Qwen 3.7 9B? (Also looking for 9B-class alternatives to Qwen 3.5)

Given that Alibaba went proprietary/API-only for the Qwen 3.7 Max and Plus launches back in May, do we have any rumors or roadmap for a local 9B open-weights release?

In the meantime, I'm trying to figure out my next step for a small local setup. Is there any model in the ~8B to 9B class that currently beats Qwen 3.5 9B?
