Curious to hear how fellow ADHD folk navigate the gap between craving structure and difficulty with planning.

During the week my routine is pretty much set, but I really struggle on weekends and I’ve been known to spend an entire day sleeping.

I know I thrive on structure and routine, but planning and creating structure for myself is where I seem to get stuck.

How do you guys go about turning spare time into structured time without becoming overwhelmed?

CMV: Harm-reduction messaging should not be attached to addictive stimuli.

The broader ecosystem understands human psychology and addictive behaviours, including the relationship between attempts to quit and heightened temptation.

Therefore, harm-reduction messaging should not be embedded within advertisements designed to trigger the very behaviours they aim to reduce.

I understand the intention is harm minimisation, but I’m unconvinced the current approach is psychologically coherent. If exposure to addictive stimuli can intensify cravings or urges, then pairing help messaging directly with those stimuli may undermine the intended purpose of the messaging itself.

I didn’t really begin forming a stable sense of self until my 30s. AMA

I’m 37 and I feel like I only really began forming a stable sense of self in the last few years.

For most of my life I felt like I was reacting to the world rather than consciously building an identity, value system, routines, boundaries, etc.

Things like community spaces, reflection, mental health recovery, structure, and learning how to make decisions intentionally changed a lot for me.

Now I’m fascinated by identity, self-development, systems, habits, and what actually helps people grow.

Has anyone else gotten lost trying to find bus stands at major stations even though the information technically exists?

Has anyone else gotten confused trying to find bus stands at major stations/interchanges even though the information technically exists?

The other day at Victoria Cross ( North Sydney,Australia)I found Stand E but couldn’t find Stand C because it turned out they were separated by the road and there wasn’t an obvious “You are here” map nearby.

Something similar happened to me at Chatswood(Sydney, Australia)too.

It got me wondering if transport interchanges rely too much on apps now instead of physical wayfinding/maps/signage.

I said, ‘Can I talk to your foot instead?’

She said, ‘Why?’

I said, ‘Well… it understands you.

Maybe it’ll understand me too.’
