Is the 35-70mm f/4 really that much worse than the f/3.6?

Currently have the plastic 35-70mm f/3.5*5.6. The shortest of all the variable 35-70s.

I hate to say it, but I can't see myself using the fixed lenses too much. I already have a 50 and a 28, and I think that's enough.

I like my 35-70, but from what I understand the quality is pretty weak for my version. I'm taking my honeymoon trip to turkey and Egypt with my wife this August and I want something good for these memories. At the same time I'm not going to notice every little defect in my pictures.

I've been looking on eBay but they're difficult to find.

For the ONE available on eBay I can get a 35-70 f4 and a 35-105.

So what do you think? I really appreciate all imput.

60s/70's Souvenir slides from Rome

Picked these up for $2 at a flea market about a year ago, and tonight while bored at home I figured I'd throw then into the projector.

Paper slide holders are badly degraded to the point of making it very difficult to hold the slides in place. Figured it's a neat curiosity to share.

Presume it's kodachrome, but it could pass off for Harman Phoenix.

Shoot more slide film.

GAS satiated. Look what you made me do.

Just as my newly bought OM-4 (Original model) shipped, a lovely reddit user who'd seen my comments about the camera offered to sell me a spare one he picked up years ago and never looked at again. Silly good price too.

Brand new, and serviced by the lovely John from Zuiko.com to make up for 20+ years in storage.

Safe to say my GAS is thoroughly quenched for the time being. Now to stop buying crap and start actually using it.

Much to the dismay of my newly arrived OM-4, the Ti is going to have all the fun.

Getting an OM-4Ti worth it over an OM-4?

Really looking to upgrade from my OM-1 since I want to shoot more slide film and want better metering. Going on my honeymoon trip in August and don't want to mess anything up.

Looking online it seems like a late model OM-4 is at least $100 cheaper than an OM-4ti. My concern is mostly longevity. John from Zuiko.com doesn't service the basic OM-4 model anymore, and I'm hoping the newer Ti models (I've been using the white letter in the film holder to track) made in the late 90s run much longer than a basic 4 model made in the mid 80s.

So basically, should I get an OM-4 and just get another when it stops working, or an OM-4ti and hopefully have it last twice as much as the OM-4?

25yo velvia

Added as troubleshooting in case someone knows of a faster/better way to scan/edit slide film so it looks more "projection-like" and less blue cast from all the E-6 scans I've done. Really quickly put them through Lightroom, and out as JPGs so I haven't really sat down and edited. Halfway thinking of testing an 812 filter.

On the last pic you can see the actual film be significantly better color balanced.

Anyway, I can't believe this worked!

Ignore the bad focus and composition on these as I was rushing a little. This was purely to see if *anything* would come out. Got a whole bulk roll of this, and the gamble seems to have paid off. This beautiful, expired, salmon scented bulk roll WORKS!

Sent this to AGX labs in Michigan. My previous labs returned an insanely blue cast set of E-6 rolls, and I'm glad I found someone to do things properly. HIGHLY encourage you to use them for any E-6.

[B] [USA-IL] Olympus OM-4 body

Looking for an OM-4 in good working order with an accurate meter. I'd much rather buy from an individual than someone else on eBay.

Upgrading from OM-1 to OM-4

GAS is hitting and I'm looking at new cameras. Currently have an OM-1 and I'm getting more and more into slide film. Have a big trip to the Middle East coming up in a couple of months and some velvia to throw at it.

Not to say in disappointed in my OM-1s meter, but with slide being as unforgiving as it is, and the fact that I'm unlikely to get to any of these places again, I'm seriously considering getting another OM (don't want to buy new lenses) that does multi spot metering.

I know about the battery issue on the OM-4s but I'm hoping someone has some insight on shooting slide with one, or any other OM recommendations for what I'm looking for. Or maybe just to tell me I'm throwing money at a non-existent problem.

[S] [USA-IL] Canon Demi EE17+ case

https://imgur.com/a/OZUD6Qb

Asking $130 shipped. Negotiable.

Camera is in fantastic shape. Will attach a picture of a photo taken with it last week. Zero problems on viewfinder or lens. Lens has a spec of dust but it doesn't register in the pictures whatsoever.

Literally only bought it to go to a music festival but that's not happening anymore. Got it from a photographer around where I live and he took great care of it.

2 Maplewoods EF passes.

Just looking to get what I paid for them. Wife and I can't make it anymore due to a health emergency.

u/Hontik — 22 days ago

I will never financially recover from this

Like a monkey that discovered fire I finally took the plunge into bulk rolling. An old neighbor of mine had some forgotten velvia bulk in his freezer he graciously passed to me. Damn thing stinks like fish from all those years.

Got myself an AP loader and spent the better part of 3 hours sweating bullets at the thought of screwing anything up.

Got some foma ortho and vision 500T next on the block. The savings may be minimal, but whatever.

I think I like my little Pen

Happy with most of these except a LOT of scratching fixed in Lightroom. Shot in Vision3 250D and lomo 92.

Rooftop party [PenFT | 38mm | Kodak Vision 3 250D]

Sadly the internal roller + some dust gave them a pretty good scratching. Best I could do in terms of saving them.

Spring break on film

Don't mind the scratches! Working to fix that soon. Took these over the last two weeks on Kodak 250D and Lomo 92 35mm film.

This city is magical.

What can I do with this space?

Got this spot by our bedroom. Entire home is 60s/70s themed.

Was thinking to put an arcade machine and some other game themed things, but idk anymore.

Not really interested into making a dining room. We'd hardly use it.

Anyone in the city want shoot some film?

May not be completely in line with the sub, but whatever. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Bored between graduate school semesters and figured I'd ask if anyone else that likes film photography is down to hang out, shoot film and grab a drink.

Edit: to clarify this is for pictures not video

Learning Velvia 100 [OM-1, f/3.5 35-70mm| Velvia 100]

Partly underexposed, partly terrible lab. Sadly almost all the roll had dust and blotches on it that I tried to edit out. On top of everything they came out EXTREMELY blue, and this is what I was able to salvage.

Apparently it can be a water temperature issue causing the blue cast. Film expires next year so I doubt it was that. Considering a warming filter too, but I thought that was more of an E100 thing.

Anyway, if anyone has more experience I'd love to know if you also struggled with the blue/magenta as well.
