Curry rice, tofu, cashew nuts, broccoli, garlic and soy sauce😍
Hi! I have had T1D for 7 years and I have never experienced this:
I cant take any bolus insulin, and even without it I get lows. I eat as normal, but I have been very active the past week. I just moved to a different city and started on a new degree, so I would think the stress would give me highs.
I changed my basal to 7 units from 12, and I still get lows. I drank 4 glasses of juice the past night.
I WILL CALL MY ENDO WHEN THEY OPEN.
Has anyone experienced this?
I made a gigantic bowl with lots of random veggies and dressing and chickpeas and seeds. That was 4 days ago. Im still eating it. I will be eating it forward. Im so tired of it. It absorbs salt. I think it will absorb me. Help.
Why have I only found one in Norway? Am I blind?
The campaign against McDonalds in Norway starts tomorrow. Anima (an animalwelfare organisation) has sent out posters and flyers to volunteers all over the country. The campaing is encouraging people to take a brake from McDonalds until they commit to ECC (European Chicken Commitment: a certification for welfare requirements, which includes more light, space, and slower growth).
Anima tells their volunteers to be kind, walk away if told so, and use tape or tack so there are no marks when the posters are taken down.
Honestly, a very nice way to ask for a little bit of improvement. As people with common sense we know ECC isnt the endgoal, just a bit in the right direction, but we have to go through this to end factory farming in the future.
However: there has come to my dms that some POLITICIANS are planning to demonstrate against the campaign and eat chicken and burgers where people have planned to meet up. This is going to happen in Brumunddal. "I hope it sells out"- the main guy says in the newspaper. Their arguments are about norwegian meat and cases of emergency, which doesnt take long to find out is totally insane. The chickens eat mostly imported food, and they cant live much longer than 35 days because they are so bad bred that they will gain multiple health issues. And the campaign doesnt even tell people to stop eating chicken, but to take a break from McDonalds until they have ECC standards, which many coorporations in Norway already have.
This is very immature and Anima says to remember this is about the animals, not politics (to a certain degree), nor the people who is demonstrating against the campaign. If you live in that area or have any other news, feel free to share❤️
This post isnt to namedrop or be political, just to share some news I find very interesting.
I hung out with George again🐗❤️
If you dont know George: he is a little minibus who was supposed to be put down because of an illness, but instead got taken in by a farmer who rescues animals.
George is from an "ecological farm", he is way too big and he has a hard time because of it. Still, he is gentle, has hens and horses as friends, and he loves good food.
We see pigs so rarely because they are all tucked away inside, we know so little about them. Today I saw George use his nose to REACH food, I didnt even know it could move like that. He is such a cool guy.
I hope you think of George when times are difficult, when the social structurs makes it hard to choose veganism, or when you feel hopeless. Let him be a reminder that our choices counts, that the mentality to protect beings is spreading, and that it matters so much for for so many animals that we day after day continue to NOT put them on our plates.❤️
Tofu is expensive where I live, 270 g for 45 NOK.
I have found 500g tofu for 29 NOK in an asian foodstore tho.
270g for 45 NOK feels like a scam, but it makes me wonder how the prices are in other nordic countries?
My bet is that it is cheaper, or am I wrong?🤔
On another note: I will fix the wiki and flairs and all, but Im really busy these days so it will have to wait🫶
Just wow. This was delicious. Do you all have this?
She is going to the vet tomorrow, so I seek no medical advice, just your experiences so I can be prepared for the worst or ease her life in any way I can.
My healthy 2 year old girl suddenly lost a huge patch of fur and walked all weird like she had a stroke. She then walked normal and drank some water and went to bed.
She is at my parents house far away right now since Im moving between places, but I debate just going home right away in case she is dying.
We have reached 160 members, and we are gaining more every day. 🎉
I started this subreddit because I missed a vegan community in these weird and awkward countries of ours. Countries where veganism is suprisingly underepresented in contradiction to how much free speech and rights we have.
I hope you can express some wishes of yours on how you want this community to develope❤️
What atmosphere do we want?
Do we want more or specific rules?
What do we NOT want?
I hope we can discuss this❤️
Also! : if you want to be a mod, please dm me:) There have been like 3 cases of comments against our rules, so it is very little work per now. It is just declining/approving reported posts/comments. Which has happend 4 times😂
I wish that we can shape this community to something we like, so please comment✨️💪🌿

Vegan or not- we can all agree that McDonalds has the money to give their chickens better lives. These chickens is in much pain and they grow insanely fast. Their feet cant hold their weight.
Please fill out this form from Anima:

You will be mailed a poster, and if you dont live near a McDonalds, you can just put it somewhere else. More info in the link.
The last day to sign up is today. It is such an easy way to make a difference, and it takes so little time. It is going to be record in volunteers this year, so send the link to family and friends, vegans and non-vegans.
Let the big companies know they have responsibility❤️
LETS MAKE AN IMPACT
Editet: typos
I bought all of them at Holdbart (a store for stuff that is almost at the expire date, but is fine a lot longer).
Do you have these ones where you live?🌿
What is some snack you enjoy?🥰
He enjoyed watermelon👏 He also showed some opinion, curiousity, and he even made happynoises🥰 Pigs are cool😎
I visited a farm the other day, but all the animals were rescued from the food industry.
They had egg-laying hens that were supposed to be gassed. When the hens first arrived they had been totally still and full of apathy, but after a while they showed personality🥰 and the thingy on their head turned red.
There were also two sheep who struggled with wool overproduction.
Then there was this GIGANTIC pig. He was from an "ecological" farm, he got sick and was supposed to be euthanized, but the farm I visited took him in and his sickness disappeard. He is 5 years old, but he probably doesnt have long left because he is way bigger than natural. His legs is hurting and he struggles with easy waddling. I have probably seen a few pigs as a little girl, but this was something else. George, as his name is, was shockingly huge. Like, I knew pigs were big, but DAMN. His neck was really huge as well, since it was going to be turned into food.
I am feeling extra motivated now. I have a pig to think of when I feel down and hopeless about everything. I even scratched his gentle GIANT head. Lil minibus.
Im visiting him tomorrow again with watermelon, and I hope to get a good picture of him, so you can think about him too when you feel down❤️
KEEEEEP GOING😎😎🌿🌿🤺🤺 FOR GEORGE

Hello!
What is a good vegan meal to serve to alot of children? A friend of mine works in childrens' soccer, and sometimes there are events where they feed everyone non-vegan sausages. What is a vegan way to go? I know there are vegan sausages but they are very expensive in my country. What does children even like? Help!
