IRS ZERO NOVICE GDL first time infraction as a student pilot, what should I do?

Hey there!! I was home for the weekend for thanks giving to see family. I am currently in my second month of commercial helicopter piloting school and I love it I’m living the dream. Last night my brother needed someone to DD him home from the bar so I went to pick him up, hours before picking him up I had a beer with friends. On my way home I was pulled over for a routine check and I blew a 0.021. Now in Alberta that number is below the legal and warning limit but this is where the problem is, I was under the impression that my GDL was already removed but it turns out it was still active and according to the Alberta GDL program you can’t have anything in your system until it’s removed. I was given a IRS which is not a criminal charge. Because of this my car was impounded for 7 days, my drivers license has been suspended for 30 days, and I was fined 240$. I am a student pilot and I’m scared of the impact this will have on my future and future career, can I get some insight on knowledge for this type of situation?

Am I in the wrong for breaking up with my boyfriend because he was planning to first?

I 19 female was dating a boy for 4 months and all seemed okay it was going good. Im going to school in a different city for 6 months than coming back and he knew about that and was totally on board with it. When we hit the 4th month milestone I told him I loved him, he said that he wasn’t far off but couldn’t say it back yet which I totally understand and things seemed normal for the week after that. On the weekend I went up to look for apartments in the city 3h away where I was planning to go to school in and everything seemed normal, he was supposed to sleep over when I came back and we were gonna see some friends. While I was still in the city he went to his friends house in the meantime and told me to text him when I was getting closer to home. When I was about an hour into driving back and took a rest stop I saw a notification on my phone reading that he was going to cancel our plans for the night and he needed to talk to me about something in person. Now I get very anxious and physically sick when stressed which he knew beforehand so this worried me. The day and night after he kept ignoring me and dodging me asking what was wrong and to talk over the phone saying he had to talk with me in person. I was so stressed and I needed to get it out of my system so I asked him if Tuesday when we were supposed to sit down and talk if he was planning to break up with me. He said he wasn’t sure yet that’s why he wanted to talk over it in person and that he didn’t know how he was feeling. Since we live 40 minutes apart I asked if he would be open to a call instead and he said it had to be talked about in person as he said he respected me enough to in person and he said “who knows maybe we can talk things out” and that he was sorry. We’ve never fought or anything and me knowing he was going to break up with me I’m pretty sure on Tuesday based on his response I shot him a text instead reading “if you had respect for me you wouldn’t have dragged this out, if the thought of ending it was there it’s already over, I can’t be with someone who is unsure of me, my number is always open peace out twin” then I unadded him. I feel like I made the right decision but now I’m unsure hence my coworker who is also a man said he felt I didn’t make the right decision and that he could’ve just wanted to talk about the future of our relationship when I go for school.
TLDR If possible what are your thoughts on this situation? Did I make the wrong decision?

I told bf I love him and he didn’t say it back kinda?

My boyfriend ‘M19’ and I ‘F19’ have been together for 4 months and things have been moving at a slower pace which I’m completely comfortable with and I also prefer things to move slow. I told him last night on our 4 month and I got really scared to say it before because we haven’t done anything like that. He looked shocked and said “I’m sorry I’m not ready yet but I’m not far behind” and I felt like an ass because I didn’t wanna make him uncomfortable and we went to bed after. I have so many thoughts running through my head; did I scare him away? Is he going to gradually distance himself from me then leave me? Is he unsure about me? Help please I’m losing my mind.

- Black Clover

Alberta student aid change in their requirements and regulations scares me for my future. Looking for advice and help for a sticky situation.

Hey there Reddit community!! I am enrolled for school in the fall for commercial helicopter piloting. My parents put away 61,000$ in an RESP for my education future but that doesn’t cover the schooling costs completely. The course I’m in will cost 69,304$ for tuition alone not including costs of textbooks and supplies, plus the school I’m attending is 3h away from my home town. I applied for student aid with the idea that the Alberta student loan would go towards my schooling and my RESP would be used for living expenses while attending school and that the money I didn’t use in living expenses would be paid straight back to my student loan at the end of my course. Recently Alberta has changed their eligibility requirements for student aid which now concerns your households total income plus any money your parents have put away for you in what you can be accepted for loan wise. My parents haven’t done their taxes in 12 years and they have money put away for me which lessens my chances by a landslide for me to go to school for my dream job. I’m looking for some advice and insight to help me navigate this tricky situation, any help will be much appreciated.

Will a suicide attempt when I was a minor disqualify me from getting my class 1 aviation medical in Canada?

Hey there, kind of a rough topic to bring into conversation. My dream is to be a helicopter pilot and I go for my aviation medical today because I’m enrolled for flight school this fall. After conducting further research to prepare myself for the exam today I came across articles about suicide attempts being an issue with getting your Class 1 medical in Canada. I attempted once when I was 13 and once when I was 15 years of age (rough home life). I am now 19 years of age and I’m doing completely fine and have done so much to heal and better myself and was wondering if with this burden I can still get my medical today?

EDIT
The CAME didn’t ask me about it, he asked if I had any diagnosis of depression or anxiety which I don’t so I think that everything is good. When I tried to give him more information about myself with family history and whatnot he said “only parents” and “yes or no” so it didn’t go much farther than that…

Will this affect my ability to become a pilot

I’m planning to go to school to be a helicopter pilot later this year, I take my class 1 aviation medical this Friday. My audiogram results came back and I have perfect hearing but my ECG results are what bother me. The note on the results says sinus brachycardia with sinus arrhythmia as my bpm was 46 bpm. I’m 19 years old, female, and work labour jobs. I’m stressed about these findings can someone please lend an explanation to whether this will affect the decision of transport Canada?

How long until I can get my GDL off in Alberta?

I got my GDL in May of 2025 as an 18 year old. I took drivers training and have never been pulled over or gotten a ticket. Wondering when it will be taken off or if there’s a way to speed up the process?
