I know i can't be the only one who thinks this, at first I didnt like Jax just because i knew the internet would idolize him as a tumblr sexy man type, but over time i did grow to appreciate the cautionary tale he was slowly being revealed to be. Like, yes he did bad things but hes not inherently a bad person but him being a victim of his parents doesn't negate the fact that he made other innocent people be his own victims. He purposefully pushed everyone away who cared yet he was still able to forge and value those connections regardless, even secretly/subconsciously.

So if I relate to jax on sooo many intimate levels, whats the best advice you would give to mid-series "Jax"

Was he faking it when he said he wanted his wife and his new husband and himself all to be "very close friends", i mean how else am I meant to interpret this LOL also he seemed wayyy too into it with that Tuvok kiss, not that i blame him at all

I like her character, shes sincerely sweet and the right amount of naive and trusting, shes capable and curious and goes through her own struggles, but I juat dont hear very much about her within the fandom or see much fanare for her and im worried that means shes killed off before the more popular seasons or something 😭 but this is just my prediction as a newbie to the show so please no spoilers, just wanted to share some genuine thoughts

I just think Tuvok is a more interesting character who gets more interesting plots in episodes and also has more qppeal to me in his endeavors to understand human behavior

I also appreciate his role as Janeway's right hand man versus Chakotay because with Tuvok it feels like he guides her to the "right" decision and seeming more sincere and neutral when asked his advice, but imo with Chakotay he just seems like a little preachy or maybe even unintentionally pretentious in his scenes, but hes not for me

I don't dislike the character at all but in terms of who I would want to watch interact as a romantic or intimately domestic couple are definitely headstrong Janeway and steadfast Tuvok

Harry as an old man forcibly taken care of was pretty harsh but then a LITERAL BABY OMFGGGG like IMAGINE if the show went this dark and committed if the issue was in a different area like if there was sexual abuse issues or heavy drug abuse issues or intrusively violent impulse concerns, this could have been way darker and graphic if it veered slightly to the right, as it is its already pretty unsettling XD

On my very first star trek watch through and the way they kept talking about the messages I expected there to be a few scenes or snippets of the characters recording or writing down emotional messages to their loved ones, like it would have been such a good character exploration opportunity not just of their relationships back home but also the possibility of them unloading their unsaid wishes and regrets to their friends and family if they never do make it back. If you've never had the real thing to compare it to, you can let your mind run wild with all kinds of theories and hypotheticals and fantasies. But if you've already done it for real, doesn't that make the concept of sex feel limited, at least a little and then maybe more over time depending on circumstances? Ex: look at Jeffrey from Class of 09 but is that aspect of him in relation to his status as a virgin relatively "true" in your opinion?? Like the less (emotionally meaningful/positive) sexual contact you've had with a person makes you more of a deviant?
