Where to buy a team Norway jersey last-minute?

Any ideas where I could find one? Watching the game against Brazil later today & feeling festive. Thanks for any tips!

Very confused -- what feminine given name is Sully a nickname for in Latin America?

I met a Latina woman named Sully through work, and when I searched for her LinkedIn to connect after our meeting I was very surprised to find multiple women named Sully, almost all of whom appeared to be Latina with seemingly Spanish-language surnames. When I narrowed my search to LinkedIn profiles located in Latin America the trend got even stronger, with almost all the results being women that listed that as their first name, and very few men.

Is Sully being used as a nickname for a specific given name by all of these women? If so, what is it? I asked in the asklatinamerica subreddit, and most people had never heard of the name/nickname Sully beyond the big blue Pixar monster, let alone as a feminine name/nickname in Latin America. A few proposed that it could be short for Zuleima or Sulema, but no concrete etymologies beyond that. Are there any Spanish speakers or people who are nerds about Spanish-language naming conventions here that might be able to shed some additional light on this?

Is Sully used as women's name in Latin America (or as a nickname)? Very confused.

I met a Latina woman named Sully through work, and when I searched for her LinkedIn to connect after our meeting I was very surprised to find multiple women named Sully, almost all of whom appeared to be from Latin America and had common Spanish surnames.

Is Sully commonly used as a women's name in Latin America and I was just completely unaware of it? Or as a nickname for a common women's given name? If not, what on earth could account for this phenomenon? In the US, Sully is mostly a nickname for the last name Sullivan, and is usually a men's nickname, which is why I'm confused.

Help me narrow down my name! Northern/wintery vibes

Hi all! I'm at the point in my transition where I really kinda need a new name soon, since my birth name has started to make my skin crawl (yayyyy dysphoria).

This presents a challenge: I know I'm trans, but I'm still not sure where my gender journey is going to end -- whether I end up concluding that I'm a binary trans woman or a slightly femme-of-center nonbinary person. This makes naming hard, since I want something that I can live with no matter where I end up on the spectrum.

Some of the names I've been playing with:

-Winter

-Berit

-Solveig

-Sol

-Orla

-North

-Gwen (probs too binary, but still like it enough to include it)

-Sully (same issue but in the opposite direction)

I would love any feedback the good citizens of this subreddit can give me! I'm also open to other names that have a bit of a "northern" vibe, since I live decently far north in the world, love the cold & nature, & have heritage from half a dozen Northern European countries.

Thank you in advance for helping me figure me out!

Sully Theresa (they/them)?

I know Sully is traditionally a more masculine name, but would having a “double barreled” name like this potentially mitigate that? I know the Theresa part will probs get dropped 90% of the time, but I’m fine with that as long as it feminizes the name overall.

For context: I’m a transfemme nonbinary person (gender fluid is probs most accurate) looking for a name with range enough for me to present fully masculine/neutral or feminine as I want. I’m fine with people taking a beat with the name when I’m in girl mode, as long as it doesn’t just feel like a woman with a completely masculine name.

“Solidarity” as a name for a trans enby?

Those of us in the Anglosphere (or at least in the US) are all probably familiar with virtue names — Constance, Patience, Felicity, Faith, etc. What would y’all think of Solidarity as a name in this mold? I’d go with a nickname for day-to-day usage, but I’m not sure what precisely — Sol? Sally? Sully? Ideally it would allow me the flexibility I want as I continue my gender journey, wherever it ends up.

I’d love feedback on this idea as well as the potential nicknames!

Would Solveig (SOL-vay) work as a nonbinary-leaning femme name?

How do y’all think the name Solveig might work for a nonbinary-leaning-transfemme name? I grew up in the Upper Midwest (US), where there’s a decent amount of Norwegian & other Scandinavian names around. Solveig is usually a women’s name in Scandinavia, but I have a feeling that in the US it wouldn’t trigger any particular gender read on its own. Does this seem accurate? Or is choosing a less well-known name with a funny spelling not a great idea?

Thoughts on Gwen as a full name? Not Gwendolyn/Gwenyth/etc?

What do folks think of Gwen as a standalone name, rather than short for Gwendolyn/Gwenyth/Guinevere/etc? Is it strange as a full name?

How do we perceive the name “Sully”?

Trans enby who is perceived as male generally due to my body — I’m at the point in my transition where I’m still not sure how femme I will ultimately be/present, and I wanted to know what vibe folks get when they hear “Sully.” I know it’s traditionally a male name, but it feels like it has potential to be more androgynous or even femme since it has the “ee” noise at the end? Or do folks think it would just contribute to me getting he/him’d, which will be wrong wherever my gender journey ends? Would it be wiser to choose a different name that is more androgynous/femme to give myself more flexibility?

I apologize if this is outside the bounds of this subreddit, happy to delete if so!

What do people think of Solveig (SOL-vay)?

I grew up heavily celebrating my Norwegian heritage, and it’s a name I’ve always thought is pretty, if unusual. Does it come off as too pretentious? The last name will be a super common American last name, which I feel like will balance it out a bit.

Plus, since it’s not a name most Americans are familiar with, it won’t lead to the kid instantly being gendered by strangers when they read/hear it, which I feel strongly is a positive thing for a kid’s development. Even though it’s a traditionally female name, I’m assuming it will give the child the ability to explore their identity & be themselves as they age without so much pressure from our super binary society.

Anyone successfully conceive while microdosing E?

I (AMAB) started microdosing estradiol valeriate (2mg/week injected) last month, and by the end of the year my partner (AFAB) and I plan to start trying to conceive the "old fashioned way." If it works, I'm likely going to raise my dose of E and add in an androgen blocker, and then we'll rely on sperm freezing, etc. for future potential kiddos if we want. The microdosing has already really done wonders for a lot of my biochemical dysphoria, so I'm content to stick with just that for HRT for now if it means that we can conceive without medical intervention in the next year or so.

Which brings me to the question: does anyone have experience with trying to conceive while the sperm-producing partner is microdosing E? Or is that likely a non-starter?

EDIT: unsure what's up with the downvotes? Am I misunderstanding the purpose of this sub?

How to not climax so fast after stopping SSRIs

For the vast majority of my adult life, and for all of my adult sexual experiences with a partner, I've been on a low-dose SSRI. But now, after many years, I've finally tapered off of my SSRI medication (yay!). Perhaps unsurprisingly, the first few times I've had sex with my spouse afterward, I've climaxed really fast compared to before (30s-2m, approx). I guess since I've never had sex off of SSRIs, I've never had to deal with trying to slow things down -- or the internalized stigma of things happening too fast.

Are there specific tips for this situation? Or would it be the same advice as any anyone who wants to slow things down?

First names to pair with middle name Teresa?

Looking for names that pair well with the middle name Teresa! I’ve gotten a bit hung up on the meter, as the last name it will go with has a trochaic stress pattern (X-x-x), compared to Teresa’s iambic stress pattern (x-X-x). We’re aiming for solid, shorter names that aren’t too frilly or girly, but also are more memorable than “Ann,” for example (no shade to Ann).

Some that we like but think sound a bit “choppy” in combination are:
-Gwen
-Bree
-Paige
-Maeve

EDIT: as one helpful commenter pointed out, Anderson is a great stand-in for the last name! Same syllables & stress pattern (trochaic).

Do you try to match the metal of your nose/facial piercings with your other jewelry?

After a lifetime of only wearing silver (toned) jewelry, I recently started wearing gold jewelry some. However, I have a white gold nose stud, which I can’t switch out super easily (and I don’t have a gold-toned stud anyway).

Which makes me ask: do you try to match metals between your facial piercings and your earrings/necklaces/rings/etc? Or are facial piercings exempt from the need to match metals?

I know that mixing metals is more in right now than it has been in recent fashion history, but I want to make sure it looks like a deliberate choice if I do it with my nose stud — rather than an oversight.
