Bought template vs hand made

As a begginer, I want to make my first project, a work boot, but don really know where to start. I do have the material, and most tools, but I dont know if I should start with a bought template, because its already done and tested and what not, but most content I found really start from scratch making the template around the last or the foot, and that technique with the tape and etc. My problem with the template is that it is really expensive outside the US and i fear the size might be wrong. I was hoping to find free patterns around here, but no luck.

I know that boots ain't cheap, however I dont have high budget. Any advice you can give?

Ffc and fpc cable sizes

I opened three old cameras to see if i can Frankenstein my way into making one that work, i guessed that by being from the same year and same manufacturer the conections would be somewhat similar, and they are, mostly ffc and fpc cables, but the size of each is quite different for the same piece, is there any way to connect the cables to the ports? Or i would need a new circuitboard ? The cameras already dont work, so any idea is valid

How to conect the pieces together

Recently I got the pieces i want for a project, but turns out the conections are different, not entirely different, its that "flat" wire in this specific case. Is there a way to connect the pieces or I must buy a new board?

Diy camera project

I got my hands on some old cybershots that barely work, and i want to merge them into one, for all i know, i need to conect the pieces that do work together and maybe install a new OS. Thats how it works in my head but i dont want to just jump head first and lose the pieces.

Does someone have any idea or previous project that could give me a heads up in this?

I need help choosing a "vintage" camera, whatever that means

Context: I want to give a vintage camera to a friend of mine who is really into pictures, however i dont see diference from a somewhat low quality camera to a "vintage" one. I dont want to give a bad camera and just stick a vintage lable on it, searching for used cameras has been my method so far but still, i have little to no knowledge on the area

Budget: R$ 100 close to 20US$

Country: Brasil

Condition: so far, used is fine

Type of Camera: digital? With sd card? Idk

Intended use: Photography

If photography; what style: travel, spontaneous, mediaposts mostly

What features do you absolutely need: i dont know

What features would be nice to have: telescopic lens, but only because it makes the camera nicer

Portability: very portable, dont need it to fit in a pocket, but belt straped or in a purse

Cameras you already have: iphone 17 if that counts and a canon from 2019 I dont know the model of

I want to restore this machine, is there anyway to test it?

I got this as a gift of sorts, i dont want to throw it away, however, there is no pedal and not even a power cord. By now all i could get done was to open it and clean the insides, which is not that dirty. I just want to know if there is a way to turn it on or to test the motor.
