Weird whistle noise from the front of the bike
I have a Yamaha XSR155 with around 347 km on the odometer, so it’s still in the break-in period. Recently I noticed a high-pitched whistling/whining sound that starts around 4,000 RPM.
The whistle is clearly audible once the engine crosses 4k RPM. I recorded a video, and the sound starts at around 4,000 RPM.
Things I’ve noticed:
No warning lights on the dashboard.
I feel like the acceleration is slightly slower than before, but I’m not sure if I’m overthinking it.
The bike is due for its first service at 1,000 km.
I use XP95 petrol.
I haven’t noticed any major vibration or other issues.
Is this whistle normal for the 155cc VVA engine (intake/VVA/gear whine), or could it indicate something like an intake leak, belt/gear issue, or another mechanical problem? Has anyone else experienced the same sound on a new XSR155?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Should i get the servicing done?
I’ve recently been noticing very high temperatures on my laptop, even after doing a slight undervolt. I already cleaned the fans, but the CPU temperatures are still going above 90°C.
I opened the cooling system to check the thermal paste, but I honestly can’t tell whether it’s still in good condition or not. I’ve also heard that the pink material on the VRMs/memory chips shouldn’t be touched, but it looks dried out to me.
Now I’m confused about what I should do:
Should I call Acer service and get it professionally serviced?
Should I take it to a repair shop in Nehru Place?
Or should I just order thermal paste and try replacing it myself?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Edit: its an acer nitro 5 AN515-58
