Added Some Mods Pt. 2

Well, part 2... Started the CVT cooler install. Had to take off everything I installed from yesterday minus the intercooler. Swapped out the top cvt filter, adding the ETL sandwich plate, ran all the hoses, used the ETL cooler plus an additional cooler (Miami FL, nuff said).

I also added the Ktuner display image, little run down, Did a 20 miles run up to Sawgrass Mall and back home. It did creep slowly. The intake dropped to 91F with the ambient temps were 85-86F so, the snorkel is doing it's job. I maintained a good 85-90MPH speed and then punched it to 120MPH (yes, pretty fast but I had to benchmark it with non-real world testing) all-in-all, max temp I got it to was 206F... Best case scenario was 180F (unrealistic but one could hope) real target was 220F...

Before the cooler kit install similar drives would be well into 230F maxing out at 250F (this is a 240 miles drive from Miami to Orlando.

Internet says too high is 230F and usually it is always up there, I choose not to believe this, because this was happening before I flashed it. Operation temps 150F for the cvt warmer to bring up the temps... 20 miles drive to or from work it usually gets to 203F in stop and go traffic, I will find this out tomorrow.

I'm really happy with the turn out, though. Just have to keep an eye on possible leaks. Everything is great :).

What to do with x2 Z790 Boards...

I recently "updated" both myself and my gf to Z890+270K Plus to rid myself of the 14900K degradation. Had to take an unfortunate hit because of Intel's oversight. Now, I have a Strix Z790-E and a Z790 Aorus Elite AX Ice and 2 14900K's which experienced these instabilities...

I was considering selling these but to me it's not worth the hassle... any advice what one can do besides trashing them? Could I warranty the CPUs (about a year and a half old).

WF-XM6 In-Call NC...

I had a recent unfortunate accident happen yesterday with my Bose QC Ultra Gen1 and had to make an impromptu purchase. I was going to go for another QC Ultra but Gen2 but decided to go XM6 instead to try something new.

For just one day of use I must say they are quite impressive... The comfort is a bit lacking, though.

My current concern is with in-call noise cancellation for the other side. The Bose QC Gen1 were really good with this and the person on the other side didn't have any distractions. The XM6 I was told by that same person they hear a lot going on in the back ground. She has a pair of XM5 and she pretty much set it and didn't have to change anything. Only thing I don't like about her XM5s were that when heavy noise in the background it felt surrounded with static or fuzzy.

I followed some of the changes good suggested, but nothing seemed to work, confirmed by the other person. Is there anything, setting wise that I need to consider?

Currently have;

  • Ambient sound on and at 20 (originally at 18)
  • Auto Ambient Sound unchecked
  • Voice passthrough checked
  • Adaptive Sound Control off
  • Speak-to-chat off
  • Connect to 2 devices off
  • Bluetooth connection quality prioritize sound quality
  • Headphone connection setting is set to LE Audio Priority
  • Capture Voice during a phone call is on (even though it has stated to turn it off, I toggled it and nothing.)

Not really sure why it is behaving in this way.

Front Camber Question

I have BC Coilovers installed on sport wheels originally. I never really looked at the camber plates until I installed my aftermarket wheels. I'm not currently running into any issues with rubbing nor impacting the fender. I did notice that a slight camber in the front would be nice to do.

When I popped open the hood I noticed that the opening on the towers are very narrow and you can't really access the camber bolts to adjust without either removing the strut or lifting and loosening things enough to drop the plates down to get an allen wrench to work in that area.

A friend of mine mentioned top hats but I'm a bit skeptical with my tower brace.

A penny for your experience with this? :)

Weight: 57DR vs 10th Gen Accord Sport Wheels

Just putting it out there for those who want to know since I wasn't able to find this (accurate) info on the net.

OE Sport Wheels: 19x8.5 +50 = 33LBS (w/o tire)
Gram Lights 57DR 19x9.5 +35 = 23LBS (w/o tire)

Wheels Installed :D

Finally got the wheels put on Gram Lights 57DR 19x9.5 +35 wrapped in Continental DWS06+ 255/35 (eventually going to go 265/35, I don't like the stretch of 255's.) Rear is cambered to -2.4 front is -0.5, no rubbing anywhere.

I do have my sport wheels still if anyone is interested (Miami, FL)

My Final Answer was, 57DR!

I had a hard choice to make and I went with Gram Lights 57DR Semi Gloss Black in 19x9.5 +35. I will most likely have to raise the rear some and even negative camber a bit. They should be arriving tomorrow and should have them on sometime next week. :D

Did another thing...

Replaced the stock top mount with Hasport 62A mount. I have the lower mount in-hand which I will install when I do the next oil change.

Way more in-cabin feedback, giving it 3 months to see how it settles.

Thanks to u/devela666 I'm now torn between these 2 wheels. Very similar, in looks/spokes but the key differences are weight (not by much 1-2lbs difference) and the finish (GT have a metallic look to them vs gloss black) and the manufacturing/way they're made at a fraction of the cost. Both wheels weigh below 25lbs. Size I'll be going with is 19x9.5 +38.
