What are the top reasons people looking for alts?

I’ve seen this subreddit appear on my timeline a few times now and the nature of it has kind of confused me a little.

I use discord DAILY and it consumes easily half of my daily hours. I haven’t heard any major controversies about the app (though I could be uneducated) and am wondering why people are looking for alternatives?

I will say discord is NOT perfect and I’m genuinely coming at this with an open mind to learn more about people’s decisions! I want to hear why you’ve decided to switch apps.

Edit; thank you so much to everyone commenting and providing some good insight. I’ve since learned about the horrendous nature of discord’s privacy issues among others. Please continue to educate me below I’m genuinely loving learning more about this.

Art Themed Profile Decorations

Hi!! I’m trying to see if there’s any art themed profile decorations?

I’ve just scrolled through the shop page briefly but can’t find anything really. I think discord sometimes rotates out its decor so if anyone has a link or image or knows of the theme name for a decor piece that’d be awesome!!

The reason I’m looking is for Artfight in July. I wanna be dressed for the occasion /silly

Is anyone else HATING ArtFight’s UI rn?

I’m trying to update my characters descriptions and for some reason the text has not only somehow become chunks of different sizes but also the webpage keeps almost phantom freezing. The page itself accepts movement and inputs but nothing goes through.

I can type and push buttons as much as I want but it doesn’t actually register any of that. Meaning it’s only until after I’ve already done half an hour of typing I realise the page isn’t actually reading my inputs and I have to refresh the page. Deleting all that work.

I had to switch from my phone to my iPad since I got a typing bug as well which locked my screen to be selecting text and permanently scrolling my page upwards no matter how much I tried to fight it. Switched from the Character Info to other tabs and it still did it until I refreshed the page.

This UI is killing me to use, I feel so demotivated to add or update detailed characters. Is anyone else experiencing bugs like this or is it just homophobic rn /silly.
