Scared of BGV

Hey, in 2024 I worked at a small startup for about one month and absconded. This company has created a pf account . Didn't collect any experience/relieving letter. After 2 years I got selected at a company and they are asking for past 10 years of employment . How should I go about it? I have emailed them and explained my problem . Waiting for the response. Does it create a huge problem? I got currently placed at a big 4. How strict are they?

BGV in big 4s

Hi,

I worked at a startup in 2024 and absconded due to the poor office environment. I didn't have any relieving/offer letter. So I chose not to include it in my resume. It was a short stint (less than 2 months). They have created a pf account and it's visible in my epfo portal. Will this cause any issue during my bgv? I have worked at a company for 1.3 years before this and have all the relevant documents. And then I joined this startup and left. After that I did post graduation. Now I am considered as a fresher but still they are asking for past 10 years employment history. What should I do?

Bgv issues

Hi, I have worked at a startup for 1.5 months and absconded. It's reflecting in my service history. No overlap issues. Would this cause any problem during bgv?. I hid this experience in my resume.

Looking for Affordable, Good Retirement Homes for My Parents

I'm in my early 20s and will be starting my first full-time job soon (CTC: ₹7.6 LPA). My parents are both in their 60s. They're healthy and doing well now, but I can't stop thinking about what happens as they get older.

I don't expect much financial support from my elder sister, so I feel like this responsibility will mostly be on me. I want to plan ahead instead of waiting for an emergency.

Can anyone recommend good retirement homes or assisted living communities in Kerala that are clean, safe, and reasonably affordable? They don't need luxury--just a place with good medical support, decent food, and a caring environment if they ever need it in the future.

Also, for those who have gone through this with their own parents, how much should I realistically plan to save? My hope is that in 5 years I'll be earning around ₹15–17 LPA, though of course nothing is guaranteed.

I'd really appreciate any recommendations or personal experiences. Thank you.

EPFO Bank Account Change After Leaving Job – Need Employer Approval?

Hi everyone,

I left my last job around 2 years ago and am currently unemployed. My EPFO account has my old Axis Bank account linked and approved, but I want to change it to my SBI account.

Since I no longer have an employer, can I update the bank account in EPFO without employer approval? Has anyone recently done this after leaving employment?

Also:

- How long did it take for the new bank account to get approved/verified?

- Once the new SBI account is approved, does the old Axis Bank account get automatically removed, or do I need to delete it manually?

- Were there any issues during the process that I should be aware of?

Would appreciate any recent experiences. Thanks!

Crush on my cousin!!

I feel terrible because of this. We grew up together and I have a crush on my cousin for a long time. It's not something under my control. Why am I getting this thought? Is it because I am a creep? Or is it common?

24M, never had a girlfriend before. Is it a turn-off to tell her this?

I'm a 24-year-old guy and I've never been in a relationship before. I recently met someone, and things are just starting between us. She has dated before, which honestly doesn't bother me at all.

The only thing I'm a little insecure about is telling her that this would be my first relationship. I'm pretty shy, and part of me worries that saying I've been single for 24 years might make me seem inexperienced or unattractive.

For women (and anyone who's dated someone in this situation), would this be a turn-off? Or is it generally not a big deal?

I'm not planning to hide it forever

I just don't know how and when to bring it up.

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences. Thanks!

Is “it can be of any topic” actually correct English? I keep hearing mixed opinions

I’ve been a bit confused about this for a while.

I often hear sentences like:

“It can be of any topic”

But I’ve also seen people say this is incorrect, and that we should say:

“It can be about any topic” or “It can cover any topic”

At the same time, I’ve noticed phrases like:

“a discussion of politics”

“topic of conversation”

“study of history”

"He highly think of you"

So my confusion is:

Why is “of” correct in some cases but sounds wrong in “it can be of any topic”?

Is there a rule for this, or is it just modern usage vs formal usage?

Hi, I have a concern regarding BGV. I am a 2026 campus hire. I worked at a startup and left after one and a half months due to a toxic work culture. They created a PF account, and it is now reflecting in my UAN service history. I did not mention this anywhere in my resume because I don’t have any supporting documents. Will this cause any trouble during BGV? I’ve heard that if the experience is not relevant to the current role, they usually don’t verify employment history. Is that true?

I had an incident about three months ago in Bengaluru where two police officers stopped me while I was traveling with all valid documents and a helmet. While checking my license through DigiLocker, they took my phone and found old images related to weed that were not mine.

They demanded ₹20,000, but I only had ₹2,000 in my account. After some discussion, they accepted that amount. They mentioned issuing a fine (possibly for not wearing a helmet), but no receipt was provided. They only asked for my name verbally and noted the vehicle number (which belongs to my friend). No official ID was taken.

I have not received any notice since then. I am now concerned whether this could affect my background verification for a new job. If a case was filed, would I have received a notice? Is there any way to check if a case exists against me?

I have been speaking English almost daily for the past 2 years. It has been a rough ride, and I struggled a lot. Now I have reached a point where I can articulate my thoughts clearly, but I still wouldn’t call myself fluent.

My concern is: if I stop speaking for the next 6 months, will I lose my progress? What should I do to maintain this level? I have come to my hometown, and there is no one here to speak English with.
