Hi, 19F moving to siliguri for college, and I have not much idea about the place, I have a few extended family there but no idea what the city is like, good hangout places, transport/ connectivity and etc. What could student life be and all. Need some opinion or idea about it.
I have a genuine question, I know how difficult it is to get in cu but I'm seeing so many people from different parts of wb, some from other districts applying in cu, I think it makes the competition for students who live here in Calcutta with good marks and is looking forward to getting a seat. Like for me, I applied for psych, today saw a few students get in allotted coz there're sc/st (nothing against the community) js saying...that the portal has it so difficult. Like my mother is a cu college pass out, had decent marks and got in murlidhar competition wasn't this bad because there was nothing like portal back then, I feel the the fact that they've made a portal and is letting students from other districts apply to it is js unfair, where we go then?, coz not all of us can afford private unis. I've seen so many students moving in Kolkata to study in cu which has made it so insanely difficult for us to get in. For example I know this student from malda got in cu college good for him but imagine someone deserving residing in Kolkata not getting in.....idk I don't understand this duality.

I have a pretty diverse skill set but I’m having a hard time narrowing down exactly what roles I should be targeting, or where the best places are to look for gigs that fit a chaotic college schedule.I am fully fluent in four languages: English, Hindi, Urdu, and German.
I would love to find something remote, freelance, or with highly flexible hours so it doesn't clash with my exams and lectures.
What kind of job titles or specific industries should I be searching for? Are there specific platforms (outside of the usual Fiverr/Upwork grind, random online gig work) that you'd recommend for someone with my mix of creative and language skills?
