What exactly happened downtown last night?

I was watching Max Velocity's stream during the tornado warnings last night, and he was insisting that there was a tornado downtown, specifically mentioning the Grand Opera House, the zoo, and St. Francis. But my friend who lives downtown says it was never anything more than a severe thunderstorm, and this morning everything looked completely normal.

(Max Velocity is a real meteorologist, not some random hobby guy.)

LOL WTF (Milk & Honey)

This is even weirder than that time Faire Café used an AI-generated image of a coffee shop for an IG post about their barista opening.

Goodboy Dog Rescue had their camera stolen by this woman. Does anyone recognize her? (wallingford)

Taken from their Facebook post

"We are looking for help identifying the woman pictured below.

GoodBoy Dog Recovery had a camera and feeding station set up in Chester Park on the Wallingford Pa side while attempting to locate and safely capture a small teacup Yorkie that has been running loose in the area. The camera had our business card attached to it so anyone who came across it would know who it belonged to and what it was being used for.

This afternoon at 1232pm, our camera captured video of a woman walking her dog locating the camera. When she walked away with it, I began speaking through the camera's two-way audio feature and asked that it be returned. A short time later, video showed the camera being thrown from the woman’s vehicle window. We have been unable to locate it, and the device is now offline. The woman was initially seen with a black trash bag in hand so perhaps she cleans up at the park. However, she did not clean up any of the trash in the vicinity of the camera-she left immediately after grabbing our camera.

These cameras are expensive pieces of equipment and are essential to our lost dog recovery efforts. This camera also had an active annual data plan attached to it worth almost $200.

We would simply like the camera returned—no questions asked.

If you recognize this woman or have any information that may help us recover the camera, please send us a private message.

We want to be very clear that we do not want this woman harassed or targeted in any way. Our only goal is to have it returned so we can continue helping lost dogs get home safely.

Please share this post so we can continue our efforts to locate the Yorkie and recover the equipment needed to help dogs like this get home safely.

Thank you"

The hidden life cost of suburbia

Bayberry near Middletown is massive. But got me thinking. If you lived at the far end of it, how long does it take to get in and out. FIVE MINUTES. So no matter where you are going, work, shopping, doctor, fast food, every round trip is an extra 10 minutes of your life gone just getting started.

I'm a little hypocritical in that I spent most of my life in suburbia, but it was Meadowood and I could do a short walk to get the DART bus to go to work or walk to some stores or hang out at Argilla (and now there's a Wawa there, damn, I wish that was around back then). Walking down to the bus from that location in Bayberry would take 30 minutes. Ouch.

Just finished this book and I am so confused by this review.

I consider myself pretty sensitive to misogyny and homophobia, but I didn't see any? And what does this person even mean by "bio-essential binary framing"?
