Should I reach out?

I dated a guy for five months around this time last year.

We broke up in December. I still find myself thinking about him and wishing I had handled things differently.

When we were together, I was really closed off and struggled to be vulnerable/myself. I wouldn’t talk much when we hung out, I was just so nervous. He let me know that he really liked me but he wished I would be more myself and open up. He was giving up on me. So instead of opening up, I backed away and ended things..even though I really liked him.

We ended on good terms. He will send reels or respond to things I post or what not. I’ll do the same occasionally but he does it more. We will sometimes catch up with each other and talk about how life is. Other than that nothing too deep.

Over the past several months now, I’ve realized a lot about myself and what I need to do differently in relationships/dating. I know now that I need to communicate more, be vulnerable, and actually let someone in. I don’t think I was in the right headspace when we were together and I was not ready to date again like I thought I was. I have been on a few dates with a couple of guys after him. I was proud of myself for doing so. Now I’ve just been focusing on myself and living life. I just can’t seem to let him go.

Part of me really wants to reach out and tell him I’d like to try again, but I’m scared he’s moved on or is dating someone. I also have no idea how to word it.

Would you reach out in this situation or no? And if so, how would you approach it?

[25F] miss my situationship [28M]

Bro, I [25F] miss my situationship [28M] and wish I could reach out.

We met at a wedding, he flew up to visit me and we kept talking after. I really vibed with him in person but I can’t put up with the bare minimum anymore thru text lol.

I stopped talking to him last week. I was in his city visiting with friends and I tried to make plans to stop by and see him one night. He had all day to keep me updated, but instead he waited until the last minute to send me his address. I had to pick my friend up from the airport in an hour.. so there just wasn’t enough time to meet.

I told him I wished he’d sent it sooner, and all he said was, “I get it, worth a shot.” After that, I left him on read and stopped replying.

What sucks is that he never reached back out after that or apologized. I wish he had. It just all feels kind of lame. I got the message loud and clear though lol

I’m done dating

I’m 31f and took a year off dating apps because I felt like I needed a reset. Recently I tried pursuing a guy I met at a wedding, and it didn’t work out.

I feel like I keep doing the same thing over and over. A guy gives me the bare minimum, and somehow I end up putting him on a pedestal. Then if it doesn’t go anywhere, I break it off., then feel guilty about it, and I replay every conversation in my head, wondering what I did wrong, and wish he cared more than he actually did. It’s honestly exhausting.

I think I’m just done dating for a while. I know I need to focus on myself because I don’t like how much my mood ends up depending on whether some guy texts me back or seems interested.

For anyone who’s intentionally stopped dating, how did you actually do it? How did you stop thinking about people who clearly weren’t matching your effort? What did focusing on yourself actually look like?

I’m just tired of giving so much mental energy to people who aren’t giving it back, and I want to break the cycle.

[25F] confused if I’m overthinking this [27M]

Need Reddit to talk some sense into me.

About three months ago I met a guy (27M) at a wedding. A month later he flew out to visit me for a weekend, and since then we’ve Snapchatted regularly. We mostly joke around and send updates about our day, but we’ve never talked about what this is or where it’s going.

I’m in his state this week and reached out to see if he wanted to hang out since I’ll be in his city. We’re meeting Friday.

Here’s why I’m spiraling: a friend who lives near him saw his dating app profile in a local Facebook group, and it showed he was active within the last five days.
I know we’re not exclusive, and logically he hasn’t done anything wrong. I think I just got in my head after finding that out.

How do I move forward with this information? And how do I go hang out with him on Friday and act normal when I know this? Am I overthinking it?

Is this guy actually interested, or are we just stuck in a weird Snapchat situationship?

I (26F) met a guy (26M) about three months ago at our best friends’ wedding. After we met, we texted then added each other on socials.. He then reached out and we started snapchatting and talking for about two months before he planned a trip from Florida to come spend the weekend with me.

We had a great time together.. he stayed with me and we went hiking/sightseeing the whole weekend. I have never had more fun with a dude tbh. The night before he left for his flight home, he made a move and kissed me. It was great. The thing is…we’ve never talked about the kiss. Now it’s been a month since, and we’re still only Snapchatting multiple times a day and just keeping it light.

Our communication feels so surface-level. We don’t text, call, or have any real deep conversations. I like him, but I have no idea what we’re doing or why he continues to keep the snapping going.

Has anyone been in a situation like this? Do I just keep seeing where it goes. I know we live far but I thought the vibes were there. I plan on going down to FL for vacation with friends and we have plans to meet up one night.
I guess I just feel like I’m wasting my time but a part of me is holding out hope.

I 29F had a guy 30M fly to see me

I (29F) had a guy (30M) fly in from another state to visit me last weekend, and now I’m not sure what to make of the situation.

We met at our best friends’ wedding. The bride is my best friend since middle school and he’s been best friends with the groom for 10+ years also.. We exchanged numbers and social media after the wedding and eventually planned for him to come visit and stay with me. At the time, I didn’t really realize he might have been interested romantically. I thought we were just getting to know each other and have fun.

When he came to stay, we had an amazing weekend. We went hiking, explored, laughed a lot, and genuinely had so much fun together. For most of the trip, though, I got the impression halfway through that he was treating it as just a friendly visit.

Then on the last night, we were watching a movie with our arms touching. After a while, he put his arm around me, and later, while we were talking, he leaned in and kissed me. It took us a minute to find our rhythm, and I honestly got the impression that maybe he doesn’t have a ton of dating experience, but I really enjoyed it and him.. We finished watching the movie, said goodnight, and went to our separate rooms.

The next morning, he left for his flight, and it was almost like the kiss had never happened. There wasn’t any conversation about it, so I left feeling confused about what it meant.

Now I’m wondering where this goes from here. I genuinely enjoyed spending time with him, and I’m kind of sad because he lives so far away. I also keep thinking that I wasn’t expecting to like him this much, and now I’m disappointed that distance is part of the equation. Since we’re both close friends with the same couple, I’m also wondering if that changes anything. It also makes it hard to say anything about anything lol.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Am I overthinking the fact that he acted like nothing happened the next morning, or could he have just been nervous? And where do I go from here?

28F and 29M had a weekend getaway

I 28/F met him, 29/M at a wedding. He flew out to visit me this past weekend. We had an amazing time together. I genuinely enjoyed every minute with him. It was so comfortable and fun. We went on a small road trip together, did some hikes and dinners together. We mostly kept things light, joked around, and really just started to get to know each other.. I honestly thought it was just friend vibes halfway through the trip, so I accepted that that’s all it really was lol.

Then, on the last night, he put his arm around me, cuddles and kissed me a few times, while we watched a movie. It felt so comfortable. The next morning he left to catch his flight. We didn’t talk about the kiss, or kiss at all the next day.. and since then we’ve only exchanged a few brief messages/snapchats.

Now I’m confused. I know we live in different states, but I can’t stop thinking about how much I enjoyed being around him. I miss him, and part of me wants to talk about what happened, but another part feels like there’s no point because of the distance.

How do I get out of my head? I know that it was just a short lil weekend fun, but I was just hoping maybe we could’ve addressed it.

Have a guy flying in town to hangout

Hi there. I met a guy from a wedding a few months ago and we’ve been briefly talking. He was a groomsman and I was a bridesmaid. He plans to come visit my city and hangout with me for a day or two. I live in Kentucky and he lives in Florida. I’m trying not to think much into it and want to know how I need to approach this. I’m thinking it’s more of a friend vibe and we’re just going to see how we vibe but it’s crazy that he’s decided to come up and hangout for the weekend. I’m not sure how to view this but I am kind of nervous but trying to approach it in a friendly way and just have a good time. Any advice on how to navigate this? Thanks!
