My kitten is trash bin

To clarify he was 4 months 2 days ago. He eats fine, i feed him high quality both dry and wet in practically unlimited amount, he has free access to bowl of dry plus i ration wet food for obvious reasons but i always give him more than enough 3 times a day even if it means there are left overs. Problem is, he is always interested in everything else but his food. If I make sound with some package, he stops eating and goes to see if i have some food for him, in same way he is crazy for human food, i never allow him any but it doesn't stop him trying. But in my opinion worse thing is, he goes for my resident cat plate, like instantly stopping eating his plate and going for other cat's plate. My big tabby doesn't mind it and even makes space for him so he can eat with him. Obvious problem is, my big tabby eats adult food and with this happening little guy obviously eats part of his diet in form of adult food which i don't think is ideal. I'm not concerned about big tabby and his food being eaten, i can always give him more, he is not food motivated so when he tells me he is hungry, he is indeed hungry. Does anyone has any idea how to stop this behavior of my kitten so he doesn't eat adult food?

Btw. yes they are on same brand of wet and dry(my adult basically eats only wet with bit of dry mixed in) and i give them exactly same thing(just in kitten/adult variant) on exactly same plate. But no, for my little trash bin, everything is better than his own food.

Kitten introduction

What you think of this behavior? Resident kitten(tabby) is 10 months old (yeah guy is massive). Little half void is 3 months old. I did quick introduction when i brink him home on last Thursday. Tabby hissed at him so i separated them and they mostly didn't see each other until today when they had this meeting over fence. Microphone didn't pick it up but tabby did hiss and growl during it twice. Half void would probably want to jump over tabby if he was allowed to - it's crazy kitten. But tabby the resident kitten is not that much amused. He is not completely depressed, but started to eat bit less(which is good in his case 😄 ) and generally started to act bit cautious around house.

Meeting was interrupted by little guy jumping on top of fence(already fixed with planks) but afterwards they both got freeze dried tuna and ate it in front of each other even tho tabby was giving him constant side eye when chewing.

My kitten has blackhole inside him

First i want to say i'm not dealing young kitten for first time, i nursed my second kitten from his 4 weeks. Nevertheless i decided to get him friend and got 3 month old kitten. He is tiny runt of the litter, he can fit into palm and has barely over 2 lbs. However he is not malnourished, just small.

"Problem" however is, he eats enormous amount of food. As i said i dealt with much smaller kitten who is now 12 lbs. and was always big, but he never ever ate that much. New kitten is able to eat one can (200g) of wet food - which is already above recommended amount + around 20g -30g of dry food from free feeding bowl daily. And it just seems crazily lot for his tiny body.

Can actually kitten hurt himself by over eating?

My older kitten had issue finishing that 1 can a day and he was double his size. But little guy seems like black hole where you can throw any food. Also he seems have no problem to eat 1/3rd of that can in one sitting and then gobble few kibbles over it.

I'm just bit worried if he can't burst or something 😂

New inmate in his cell

My 10 months old resident kitten is not much amused by his future friend so far, so little guy must be in isolation. Last photo is my resident kitten, tube of freeze dried tuna for scale

Second thought about adopting second kitten

First i want to say, this is not material issue, i have space and means to provide for second cat, veterinary care included.

I have now 10 months old guy since he was 4 weeks old. He is very bonded to me but not over-attached, so i don't think him being like 10 hours a day alone bothers him much. He has whole house for him + 15m2 catio terrace. When i leave, he just goes with me to doors, to see if we are going outside(he is leash trained and we are going on walks almost daily). But he definitely doesn't have separation anxiety nor he is stressed from anticipation of being alone. So in those 9 months i have him i never thought he would need cat friend.

Two weeks ago i was in local shelter to drop off cans of kitten food i bought in bulk but they caused my guy diarrhea. The shelter, on top of secured cats, has like 9 cats which live in "general population" basically they roam the enclosed property and live together. One of them is roughly 8 months old kitten, super friendly and apparently super chill with other cats. When i was talking to staff, he out of nowhere climbed on back and sit on my shoulder. The lady suggested that i may want to adopt him as he is usually not much amused by humans. So we talked bit more about my kitten and she said it should be completely fine, they are in almost same age, young and their kitten is natural with other cats basically from first day they him. So i went home and took some time to think about it, last week i called them and scheduled adoption for today.

My biggest concern is, it will go sideways. I'm not worried much about new kitten, he is used to other cats. But i'm concerned about my guy, he never saw another cat, he was never in contact with another animal in that matter, except humans. I'm worried i will give false hope of home to another kitten which i will have to break in case it will go wrong.

Am I doing right thing getting second kitten?

Food, soft stool and water

I'm wondering if anyone has any idea as i'm quite out of ideas. So basically my 10 months old kitten practically doesn't drink water and no, he doesn't drink covertly. If i just feed him his food, he pees only once a day - even tho really large clump. Which even according to vet is not ideal and it suggests mild chronic dehydration. So i did easiest thing and i'm just tricking him into eating more water by giving around 50ml of broth/churu tube mixed with water/cat drink(basically bought broth). Which he has no problem with and it will make him pee twice a day. Problem is, it also makes his stool really soft, not diarrhea but definitely not shaped - without extra water in his diet, he has normal stool. He was already put through 2 different types of gastro veterinary diets and extra fiber with no effect, feeding him veterinary diet or his regular one has exactly same outcome. So my question is, does anyone has any idea what to do with this?

Cat age - 10 months (with me 9 months)

Breed - domestic shorthair

Sex - male, neutered

Daily food - 200g of wet food + 25g of dry food (amount is matching his age and activity energy requirement profile, not prone to overeating anyways, mostly not finishing)

Veterinary care - accessible, already consulted multiple times
