Does anyone know anything about the old Windermere hotel in Lansdowne?

Hi,

Im trying to do some research on the building I live in. Im not from Delco, so I dont know a lot of local history.

I live in a building that was built as a mansion for a wealthy family in the later 1800s I guess, and it was turned into a hotel sometime in the early 1900s. The building was expanded on for the hotel sometime before ww1 ended.

I was looking around the dank, dark, spooky basement and found some interesting stuff. Not sure how old these signs are.

Check out the three little girls in matching white lace dresses from the 1880ish. Thats one more haunted ghost girl than the shining hotel.

Was wondering if anyone from the area had any photos of the place from the past or knew any stories/ history.

What do these numbers mean?

Sorry if this is a dumb question.

I live in the eastern US. Im not from the area I now live

My apartment building is actually an old hotel. The grounds are in miserable shape from neglect/ shitty landlord, but the insides of the building still have the original architecture and most of it is still here.

We dont have a maintenance staff or are given storage. One day I was in the basement, which doesnt have electricity, and I found some old keys that, turns out, still worked on many of the doors and locks downstairs.

My building was actually here before my town was even established. Theyre celebrating 100 years next year. My building was made in the 1880ish.

I dont want to sell or anything the stuff. I love my building, I think the design with the high ceilings and carved structures is beautiful, despite most people in the area thinking its abandoned. I dont want to post the original sign with the hotel name I found, just in case my shitty landlord is on Reddit.

This is probably dumb but im not from around here. Are the numbers and letters on the bottom of the vacancy signs an old phone number? Also, what are these old heavy glass domes I keep finding ( slide 4)

If youre ever at Ben Guiron and you see some cats, please send me any photos.

These are just sketch drafts I am working on to see if I can figure out how the story Im writing for fun would go

*"If you have ever been to Ben Guiron airport, you'll know it's like most airports, and not very remarkable....except that it is full of cats. If you have ever been to Ben Guiron airport, you may have seen Yosef, the cat schlepper there"*

I have no idea what im doing, so its just a thing I do/ adding to the story in my sketchbooks. Drawing Yosef shepherding cats around the airport and trying and failing to stop them from boarding flights to Guam or other distant lands, where he will have to go and pick them up from to bring them back home.

So i had an idea for hiring/ help wanted posters for RAC, using old ww2 Army recruiting "a real man's life" posters.

I got a small tabletop easle for my birthday recently, so I can actually share photos of the other ones without having to tape them to my door.
