I’m wanting to paint in my macarons-I’ve got 3 questions

1st question is- I’m seeing that in order to make the food coloring paint consistency I have to use alcohol- is that right? And a silly question- does the taste then taste like that? Is there any alternative liquid I could use

2nd question- can I use powder coloring as well or only the gel coloring

3rd question- how can you keep it from staining your mouth lol. I tried edible markers and those stained when eating

For those doing sales particularly on Facebook (via marketplace/local groups) first- how is that going for you? Do you get enough sales to warrant your time? Second-how do you handle this process?

Are you doing set flavors and pre orders? Custom orders?

I was thinking of advertising a set of flavors weekly/bi weekly. Closing orders Wednesdays, and having pick ups Saturday or Sundays.

Do you require payment up front or at pick up?

Or are you finding minimal traffic via social media?

I’m looking for advice as someone who is in their late 20s needing a spinal fusion at L5/S1.

I have seen multiple surgeons who all have proposed a fusion to my l5/s1. I have spondylolthesis with a bilateral pars defect. I gave birth last June and things took a complete turn for the worst. Before I knew about the spondy, I was dealing with weird symptoms in my legs during the pregnancy-(numbness, weakness, pain, issues with going to the bathroom) pain since birth has been something so indescribable. I was written off by multiple providers, and told the back pain was part of birth. But I knew this pain was not normal.

For over a year I’ve tried, pt, injections, Pilates, walking, ice, rest, heat, medications, taping, dry needling. I have not gotten relief. My leg symptoms have started to change the way i walk when I do, starting to cause knee problems. My hip and groin get pain, and i have difficulty lifting that hip no mater the strength training. I’ve lost a lot of leg muscle in my right side.

I have a surgeon who I trust and has done an endoscopic cervical procedure on me, but due to the spondy and pars I’m not eligible for endoscopic in my lumbar. He says that’s he has great success with this procedure for this surgical indication and has a very small ASD rate due to the technique he uses. He would be doing MIS TLIF (using. Two incisions in each side the size of a quarter and avoids having to cut thru the big muscles)

I’m really want to get back to walking, and feeling strong, and spending time with my family but I’m so scared of the unknown. Does anyone have any success stories of fusion in their 20s? Am I making the right choice ?

My kitchen aid is the 6 qt mixer, I find when making my meringue I have trouble getting it to form or get stiff peaks if I make anything under 250-300 g of egg whites worth. Does any one else have this problem?

Without getting a different mixer did you find any way to make smaller batches?

I’ve don’t where I’ve made a bigger batch and then split the meringue up into my different bowls but I felt very overwhelmed lol.

I’m wondering if anyone has tried tirzepitide, and had to many side effects and went back to semaglutide?

Last year I was on semaglutide it was amazing for me, it put my pcos into “remission” I lost 30 lbs and then I got pregnant.

After the baby I went back on semaglutide, I had no side effects but also no weight loss so I thought I’d try tirzepitide however the tirzepitide nausea is so much. I’m awake for hours on end at night with nausea

Has anyone gone back to semaglutide and had success?

I was on semaglutide prior to having my son and did amazing (pcos/pmos) after I had him I went back on semaglutide. I didn’t have much results(weight wise) but almost no side effects either.

I thought I’d try to switch to tirzepitide but Man I am having the worst nausea. It’s all day and all night I’m up from 3am-6 am I can’t sleep it’s so bad…

Should I go back to the semaglutide?

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a counter top convection oven for macarons that you can do multiple trays that cook evenly, my wall oven is only good for one tray at a time. I’m in the US.

I had c5/6/7 endoscopic foraminotomy and laminectomy, my pointer finger is numb. It wasn’t numb prior to surgery

Monday I had c5/c6/c7 endoscopic foraminotomy and laminectomy. I did not have any finger numbness prior to surgery but I do have numbness pointer finger and part of my forearm.

Will this resolve?

Hi Guys- I’m hoping this is okay to ask here. I am not a T1D but my husband was diagnosed 6 years ago. He was diagnosed as T2D and when he got covid went into DKA which is how we found out he was a T1D.

My husband has had a hard time accepting that he is diabetic in the beginning and was not the best with managing. He has been doing better however I had to learn to let him handle this in his own. As in the beginning he felt I was very overwhelming and he just didn’t respond well to that. For my own sanity and his I’m here for support but try not to ask questions to much and to educate myself as much as I can.

My husband does not wear a CGM. He has tried the dexcom and a libre and they seem to give him infections or welts a lot. When he was wearing his CGM his blood sugar was pretty good but he had more lows that usual. He has since stopped wearing the CGM due to the welts. He finger pokes only so I don’t see the scores anymore.

Recently he herniated a disc. The pain has been a lot and stressful, and yesterday was unmanageable so he went to the emergency room on his way to the emergency room he thru up a few times he said. I met him there- His sugar was high-(445). They ran labs and said he was in DKA.

Is it possible that the DKA would have manifested that quickly do to the pain, and the throwing up- or does this mean that he hasn’t been taking his insulin accordingly?

He didn’t show the symptoms he did the last time for DKA- he was alert and joking around with me. Once they said it I noticed some subtle things but he was alert the whole time. Last time he was not very alert and ended up not even being able to say his birthday so I was a bit thrown off.

Please be gentle- I am trying to learn and it’s been a hard couple of days.

Can I use just the Swiss mirenge filling for the inside of the Cake? (The mixture step before adding butter) I like how fluffy it is but am not sure if the butter I had to be added for filling

I’m waiting to practice my piping and icing without maybe having to make my buttercream/cake everytime.

I tried with a cake dummy and wrapping it in seran wrap but it didn’t work the best. I have been practicing on baking sheets but I don’t feel like it helps with practicing the side of the cake much.

Two questions/ concerns-
What would be a cheap alternative to replicate the frosting- (if I practice with one frosting vs my Swiss merengue will it feel foreign when I try to replicate it?)
Anything that would mimic coating a cake? That’s maybe reusable.

I’m also struggling with buttercream to cake ratio so I’d like to know if there is a rule of thumb- how much butter cream to make for how many inches of cake.
