Dentist Recommendation

Does anyone love their dentist? Newer to the area and went to one in Bethlehem, who was horrible.

He didn’t explain anything, he had zero bedside manner, and he got annoyed that I was asking questions. This was at lasting smiles of Bethlehem (note- I don’t want to hear about your amazing experience with him, mine was horrible)

We live in Bethlehem towards bath, so looking for someone in those areas, even Easton or Nazareth etc

I have MetLife insurance.

TIA

Jim Thorpe for a Day?

Any recommendations for coffee, lunch, and shops in Jim Thorpe on a weekday?

Going this week and doing the morning train in the vista dome car, but want a weird or witchy adventure after.

Looking for a good coffee, possibly Crystal shops (saw a couple but not sure if anyone has preferences or info), a good casual lunch spot, and any other can’t miss shops- all within a ~10 min walk: this is important bc my mom has pretty bad arthritis and I don’t want to drag her around more than necessary.

Lastly- is this a good day trip for a birthday? really want to have a fun outdoor adventure that’s casual and within driving distance for the middle of the week.

TIA!

Coming in October for Anniversary

I know how this post will sound, but I’m really looking for some authentic historical places to visit that are not Halloween, even though we’re coming in October from the Northeast.

Apologies if this is all linked in the FAQ btw, I will look there again too.

Looking for:

- Cemeteries that are rich in architecture (doubt this will be an issue anywhere in NOLA tbh), but tombs, mausoleums etc. know Lafayette is closed sadly

- Wiccan or similar practitioners for some authentic metaphysical tools and trinkets. Not interested in being a tourist who pokes fun or is enamored with the idea of voodoo or anything like that, just want to connect spiritually and energetically

- my husband is a big history guy so would love to know if/ which of the museums are worth it

- some great areas to hop around for a cocktail and app in 4/5 spots, we’re not big sit down dinner people and love to get bites at great places to take more of it in

- We do love a trolley tour, but wondering if that’s a solid way to see the city?

- We are staying in the French quarter bc I want to use my Marriott points honestly, but would love to venture out to the garden district and more

Thank you in advance and apologies if this comes off ignorant or obtuse!

Blood Donation

Newer to the area still, looking to donate blood at more local places or local hospitals vs Red Cross, any recommendations?

I’m O- so I’m sure donations will be welcome.

In Honor of Finnegan’s Birthday

Look how far my sweet little reactive rescue dog has come! So proud of his resilience, ability to forgive, and his tremendous love.

We got him 4 years ago and it’s his 7th birthday this week!

UPDATE: what an incredible outpouring of love and birthday wishes for my sweet Finny. Thank you so much everyone!

It’s been a whole year without Daisy

Today is the first anniversary of losing our family heart dog. We got her after my stepdad suddenly passed away and she became such a light in our house. When we left the house for college, moved out on our own, got our hearts broken, got married, she was there for all of it and she was my mom’s best friend. She got sick from lymphoma 2 months before her 15th birthday and it progressed really quickly.

We’ve lost human loved ones before, but pet grief is really something else and it’s been a dark first year without her. She was my anxious rescue dog’s only friend and losing her has had such an impact in our everyday lives. Sometimes it feels like the world is turning against our wills.

She loved the park, pizza crust, and ruling the neighborhood.

Miss you, Daisy.

Looking for Dark Carnelian

Is anyone selling dark red carnelian freeform, towers, or even spheres?

I have a small one, but looking for larger pieces and a lot of the carnelian I’ve found is lighter/less iron if possible, love the dark red.

TIA!

K9 Resorts Bethlehem- Thoughts?

Prefacing with- I did use the search function in this subreddit and found only some suggestions without much detail, so asking again in a new thread!

We recently relocated to LV and are looking for part time daycare for our 6ish-year old mini poodle (shelter rescue) who is a bit nervous and not super socialized. He has some separation anxiety too, but I want to try to get him out of his shell if possible and have some fun, especially since it’s too hot to adventure outside.

Has anyone had experiences with K9 resorts they can share? They seem great and we are taking a tour this week, but a bit nervous to send him somewhere new.

TIA!

I am finding Michelle so likable this season

Like the title says, I haven’t been a big Michelle fan previously (I am not a Jesse fan), especially with that creepy honey man. But this season, I find her more likable, emotionally open, and trying to navigate her friendships in the group authentically. I like it

Rethinking how my lesson went and need some encouragement

I’ve been taking lessons again as an adult after lapsing from riding since being a kid/teen and have started bonding with my lesson horse and really like my instructor.

Yesterday it was far too hot/humid to ride for the lesson, so my trainer suggested a good bath and groom and then some walking around with him. She did give me the option to ride him bareback for a bit, but it truly felt too hot for me to willingly jump on his back and make him work, so I opted for the bath.

I left the lesson thrilled at the bonding time and felt like it was a great hour for us to just spend some time together with me taking care of him and him building trust with me, but then I got home and my husband was a bit critical that I spent ~$70 on a lesson and ended up just bathing him for them instead (in his defense, he’s never ridden a horse and doesn’t super understand that I just want to be immersed in the horse world again, but he’s overall supportive).

I thought this was fine and a good lesson in horse care and overall education of how to care for him and we got to discuss his history since he’s a wild mustang rescue, but curious what the subreddit thinks, so please chime in! I mostly don’t want to get discouraged now that I’m finding my path again.

EDIT TO ADD: the barn I rode at previously and more seriously as a teen was a hunter jumper focus and I realize now I only learned the basics and went right into jumping and competing, so it’s new for me to be somewhere that is focused on equitation and also basic care (which I like in case I want to buy a horse one day)

Both Things Are True: Kyle + Amanda

I keep seeing people choosing who is worse between Amanda and Kyle and I really feel like this is a “both things are true” scenario.

Kyle was objectively a bad husband and his bad behaviors overshadowed how bad Amanda is. Kyle is textbook “good friend, bad partner.” Now that they’re separated, we see Amanda for who she is, but it doesn’t negate Kyle being a bad husband. Also if Amanda wasn’t going to forgive Kyle for cheating (rightfully so) she shouldn’t have married him. So I don’t feel bad for her in that regard.

These are just two people who shouldn’t have gotten married and now we’re watching all of the reasons why.

Buyer Review

Sorry if this isn’t allowed, except when sellers are posting on Sundays.

But I bought from someone who posted last Sunday and just got my package and wanted to let everyone know what a great experience I had with u/LoveTheJill

Jill’s Crystal Cove posted on Sunday and she had my stone packaged and mailed out by Monday morning. It arrived today and it’s perfect and exactly as pictured, reasonably priced too.

She was great to work with and made the process really easy, especially for a first time buyer off of Reddit!
