first time doing my haircut

After 7 months of only using a trimmer and the guards that came with it (#2 and #3), which didn’t give me a lot of options, I had been practicing lower tapers with it. Recently, I got a clipper and a shaver, which made me excited to try somethingg new for this haircut.

I started by creating the first guideline higher on the sides, and low in the back with the trimmer, the the shaver. Then I switched to the clipper and cut about an inch above it with the lever open. After that, I cleaned up the first guideline with the clipper closed, I still saw a little line which I used the trimer to blend it with the shaved part. I put on the #1 guard and went about an inch higher, keeping the clipper open, and then blended it into the section below with the clipper closed.

For the top, I used the #2 and #3 guards. I was basically following a tiktok video for the sides, I’ve been watching so much videos, and surprisingly, it came out pretty good! I found it easy, with more practice, I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to make the taper cleaner and more consistent.

Never thought I’d like this haircut, as I haven’t had my hair this short in 4 years, also I will save about $220 each month as my hair grows really fast.

What phrases from Succession have you started using in real life?

I fear Succession has permanently altered the way I speak.

These are the ones I catch myself using in real life way too often,

"What's the angle?”
“Can we not?”
“Oh, fuck off.”
“Can we just...”
“You’re not serious people.”

I DELETED IT

Instagram used to be fun.

I used to spend a lot of time on IG, but every update makes it more annoying. Ads everywhere, Reels taking over, constant push for Thr/eads, more Ads, and a feed that barely shows you the people you actually follow. did I mention Ads???

You can post a picture/story and it gets ignored, but the app will make sure you see 50 random videos you never asked for.

The amount of tracking and surveillance also feels... crazy??. Why am I seeing an ad for something I talked about on another app minutes ago? weird.

I deactivated my account and deleted the app. 3 weeks in and honestly…I don’t miss it.

My take on the CEO (shiv)

In my opinion, Siobhan was the only sibling who could’ve realistically handled the CEO role. Yes, the industry tends to favor men for positions like that, and that definitely worked against her a bit. But out of all four siblings, despite her selfish moments and spoiled-brat attitude, she’s the one who made the most sense to me. She was the most strategic and the most self-aware. You can blame Logan for not giving her enough real business experience. Kendall had the potential to be great, but he constantly made the wrong moves at the wrong time, Roman is an absolute no, and Connor… I’m a Shiv stan, and I’ll stand ten toes down on that opinion. lol

The funniest episode S3 E5

The way I’ve been laughing this entire episode, but this made me cry !!?? After the doctor helped Logan

“Doctor: He's on fluids and high grade, so it should be pretty quick.

Roman: He's definitely gonna be okay?

Shiv: but, Uh, how quick?

Doctor: Well, he's not a cup of instant noodles.

Shiv: Sure, but can we speed it up? Like a blood bag or adrenaline shot?”

What???? LMFAO

Rewatching Succession made me think differently about media power

This is kind of related-unrelated to the show. But few thing Succession made me think about is how much influence media companies have. Seeing such a flawed family with that much money and power (especially one inspired by Fox News) really makes you think about how they can shape public opinion, even though we don't see much of that in the show.

They're soooo detached from everyday experiences of the people they influence, and I found that really interesting, because they are not people we will generally will look up to.

It highlights how people with immense wealth and influence can avoid accountability for their actions, e.g. the company's efforts to cover up misconduct, shows how a powerful company can protect themselves and their interests, using their close relationships with executives, business leaders, and political figures.

It also made me think about highly partisan media. Since they're portrayed as a very conservative, right-wing outlet, it reminded me how some news organizations today rely on emotional and divisive coverage. (I stopped watching the news after COVID) but after living in the U.S. for a few years now, I've noticed how some outlets reinforce their audience's existing beliefs and create more outrage rather than provide balanced reporting. That's why I don't find Fox News and others very credible.

Overall, I think Succession is a fascinating show. And after this rewatch, it might be in my top five of favorite shows.

Succession Characters Fragances

As I’m currently rewatching the show, I thought it would be fun to put together what I think each character would actually wear in real life, based on who they are, and their personality. I’m also really into fragrances, so I included the perfumes/colognes I think fit them. Hope you enjoy!

Logan:
Creed - Bois Du Portugal
Roja Parfums - Danger Pour Homme

Kendall:
Le Labo - The Noir 29
Dyptique - Orphéon

Roman:
Byredo - Bibliothèque
Tom Ford - Oud Wood

Shiv:
Byredo - Blanche
AERIN - Ikat Jasmine

Tom:
Creed - Absolu Aventus
Parfum De Marly - Layton

Greg:
Prada - Paradigme
Versace - Dylan Blue

Go to Saks Fifth and check them out lol

online application - (rant)

I honestly find it a bit frustrating that an online USCIS application still requires me to print some of the documents, sign them by hand, scan them, and upload them again.

It think it defeats the purpose of filing online. It costs time, money, paper. (this is kind of my fault) but I did accidentally spill something on the documents, so that part was my mistake, but it meant paying to print everything again. On top of that, the printing software wouldn’t recognize the document, so I had to come back the next day just to convert it into a PDF so it would print correctly. What should have been a quick online process ends up taking much longer than necessary, and it’s frustrating.

Stupid/clumsy things I do 🤦‍♂️

About two weeks after coming to NYC three years ago, I lost my passport while trying to get a state ID so I wouldn't have to carry my passport and risk losing it, the irony....

After leaving the library in the Bronx, I was sure the employee had given my passport back. I apparently tossed it into my backpack without checking if it was actually secure. The next day I needed it for a visit to the consulate... and it was nowhere to be found.

To this day I regret it because it caused me so many headaches with government paperwork and basically anything that required identification. It took me two years to finally replace it, and it cost me $230 USD, even though it would've only cost about $40 back home. SMH

You'd think I would've learned my lesson.

Nope.

Last year I decided to put my wallet in my backpack (again) instead of keeping it in my pocket like I normally do. I went to a house party in Manhattan, probably opening my backpack to grab something, somehow my wallet vanished too.

Goodbye, New York driver's license.

I was so pissed with myself because this wasn't some random accident, it was basically history repeating itself. I lose or forget things way too often. If I'd just left my wallet in my pocket, I probably wouldn't have had to replace my ID, which is so annoying and a huge hassle to deal with the DMV and again carrying your passport around.

I seriously need to put AirTags on everything important because my level of clumsiness is honestly ridiculous and annoying even to me.

My collection (for now)

As you guys can see I am a Bleu de Chanel Fan (Eau De Toilet Specifically) It was my first cologne I ever bought 4 years ago and has been my signature scent ever since, I like the woody, citrusy, powdery formula than the others, I like more the BDC Parfum for the winter and fall.

Creed Himalaya is my first niche fragrance and first time I spent $200+ in a fragrance, I really like powdery citrus scents and I loved it since the first time I smelled it on Macy’s lol, it really is more “mature/old man” scent, it has really good performance for about 3/4hrs it can last longer on the clothes.

The Zara Tobacco and the Valentino Born In Roma Intense EDP are really good for the night/winter, I love to use vanilla/warm scents during those times

The YSL MYSLF is a great everyday fragrance, fresh, great for the office or work.

And Nautica Voyage is my daily/at home/ after a shower or to sleep cologne, can beat that for the price is so good!

The small Varanti Red Stone, a friend bought it for me in France, I rarely use it haha, but it is woody and floral.

The other small samples are a Creed Absolu and a Creed Tabarone Millesime, a LV imagination, I had a L’immensite which I finished lol, a Chanel Bleu Exclusif and an EDP

Looking forward to have more in my collection!

Do not panic!

Everyone should take a moment to stay calm.

The USCIS post appears to have created exactly the reaction it was intended to create: fear and panic. It’s also probably not productive to engage with people in the comments who are using this moment to push anti-immigration narratives or lecture others about “doing it the right way.”

A memo by itself does not change existing law, and many immigration attorneys are already discussing possible legal responses and protections. The best thing you can do is make sure your paperwork is organized, consult an attorney if your case has complications, and focus on the facts of your situation. If your marriage is genuine and your case is legitimate, there is no reason to panic.
