Wildlands: first person is amazing!

So i played wildlands when it came out. Loved it, rinsed it, stopped playing when breakpoint came out and that’s been my fav since but with the latest update and the new last rites I thought id do another play though but kept bouncing off it.

Installed a first person mod and god damn! I feel like I’m over exaggerating but it’s a different game.

Firstly, driving is much better first person, comers are easier to take at speed, hiding from unidad is more fun by reversing into a bush on the quick.

Combat is another level, sneaking around bases we already fun in third person but being able to go full tactical mode, man it just hits!

Being able to see the world as one’s the locals adds another level of immersion and cranking resolution scaling to 1.5 in ultra settings, it looks amazing.

If you bounced off it or didn’t feel it was up to breakpoints level (I know, hot take). Then try a third person mod and report back. I was very surprised how much it added to the game. Now gotta find a VR mod or at least big screen mode in vr haha

I won’t post a link to the mod I used but it’s on nexus and pretty popular.

The bad, there is some slight jankiness, turning your head (well, you have no head) means sometimes looking into your shoulder, when going ads some textures split for like half a second, driving first person is great until you crash and your bonnets in the way, the lambo has an inch high window screen haha, and weirdly when night time rolls around and your in the road, another cars headlights causes some fps drops.

I guess meteor but it was weird?

So I remembered there was a meteor shower tonight and thought I’d pop out and see if I can snag any pictures and saw this light in the sky travelling. It made a weird movement like it changed direction faster than a commercial plane would so I assumed small jet or something but then it just disappeared??

I tried to record it be keeping a star. Visible so the direction could be see, zooming in it looks like it had. Tail but not sure if that’s camera blur?

But the movement. It wasn’t straight, it was making small turns as it went?

Any ideas on what it is?

Recorded east of England 10:30pm looking west travelling east,

Thanks all :)

Subgrade! music test

So I had a background track before, but it wasn't doing it for me. I was keeping track of all these things, like when enemies show, the amount of noise, etc

So I used that data to layer different music tracks as enemies show/hide to create a dynamic music track that gets bigger as you play!

went with house style as it's easier to layer and gets the adrenaline pumping as you avoid death!

Different levels will have different tracks to layer as you play, solves the issue of boring bg music at least.

Still a WIP but having lots of fun playing it and evolving the game design as I go

Subgrade! Demo Video

HI guys,

Wanted to share my current game project

Subgrade!

A rogue-like submarine shooter, you can customise your sub and see how far you can make it into the abyss!

It's still in development, but I'm having a blast with it tbh. Still working on tightening the loop so it's not so fiddly and easy to play a few rounds and it's getting there nicely, I think.

First time making a game in Godot and really enjoying the voxel look and feel to the world, that chunkiness is just perfect haha,

Enjoy :)

Rogue-like Submarine Game

Hey fellow godotters,

So I last shared my video of a voxel game about feeding a space blob, that was fun but wasn't quite doing it for me. I may revisit it i expanded it slightly, but I was playing some games and thought, you know what would be cool!

Submarine rogue-like!

So I introduced Rogue-Sub (working title, I have a name but still refining)

upgrade and customise your sub, venture out for materials, blueprints, upgrade and survive the boss battles! noise attracts enemies and shooting, speeding and mining makes noise

Plans to open up different biomes with different enemies, but for now, one biome, that when done, I'll chuck on itch or Steam, not sure yet,

Anyway, would you play this game? (skip to 30 seconds to see gameplay)

Still working on UI and levelling up things, have bosses made but not in place yet, plus some other things :)

Trucking on RLS

Hiya,
As title says, I want to do get up to trucking in RLS but not really sure how, I know I need to grind levels and do deliveries I guess? And work up to bigger stuff, is that the right way?

What I don’t want is to stick with point to point as I found that a bit boring as it became the same routes over and over after an hour or so so rls progression appeals to me as it should be more varied?

Any advice to focus my efforts?

Or any other mods that focuses on the logistics side of things?

Thanks in advance

Tempted by position in Norwich Prison

Hey,

I keep seeing the same job ad for Prison Officer in Norwich Prison, and the more I see it, weigh up the travel and money, it's kinda working for me, but I have some questions before I apply, as I don't want to waste my time or their time.

If you could answer some for me, then id really appreciate it.

  1. fitness - what are we talking about here? full medical and history, or just "you can walk, you'll do"

  2. Mental Health - had a bad turn a few years ago, issue or no?

  3. knowing prisoners - my family (yay) isn't the best, and I haven't seen them for so long, and the chances of seeing any family in the Norwich are very slim to non-existent, but if it does, are you moved to a different prison? Just deal with it?

  4. Family History - again, not a great foundation, but not my life, is it an issue?

  5. Drugs - I do use medical cannabis rarely, like once/twice a month, all prescribed and things and happy to not use it anymore. Are there drug tests? Is medical cannabis allowed? I assume not, but with medication, you never know.

  6. Solo or partnership - are you solo at all just walking around with the inmates or is it always pairs, do we attend the showers, meal halls, rec area, etc.? My only frame of reference is visitations and various prison dramas.

  7. being attacked - obviously a risk, but how often are we talking, daily assaults? weekly attempts at harm, a rare occurrence because you were a dick head to the inmates?

  8. Is the inmate/office divide a thing, I mean in my head, the inmates have to be there, I have to be there to work. If we all just do our job, then it all goes easier for everyone, but i'm also aware of how stupid people can be to get a reaction.

  9. Outside of prison - what are the odds of seeing someone outside who has held a grudge for some reason and decides to find you/harm you outside? is that a thing? Do locals go to Norwich prison? Seems not ideal to have officers and inmates both be local to the area for this reason?

Thanks for any and all answers you can help with, for reference, I'm not a small lad, 40ish, 6ft, 95kg, shaved head, never had an issue outside, carry myself well enough to not attract issues but I'm aware this may cause myself to be a target in some situations, ie to test me or something, but just fed up working from home and want to leave the IT game and do something more productive, door security/security guard appeals to me but I don't like the idea of fighting people every day or night.

thanks in advance 😄
