How can I become mentally stronger and stop overreacting to small things?

I get emotional very easily and sometimes cry over things that I know are not that serious. When something upsets me, I can spend hours thinking about it and lose a lot of time.

I want to become mentally stronger, control my emotions better, stop overthinking, and recover faster when something upsets me.

For people who used to be like this, what actually helped you become more emotionally strong and stop wasting so much time on small things?

In 5 years, what will the IT field look like?

1.AI will dominate most areas of IT, leading
to fewer jobs and more unemployed IT graduates.

2.AI hype will slow down, companies will still need human creativity and problem-solving, and the IT industry will start hiring more people again.

Which one do you think is more likely?

As a Sri Lankan in this economy, what are you choosing?

Sri Lankans, be honest.

Do you do what you love, or are you learning to love what you do because the economy gave you no other choice? 😂

How’s your work life going these days?

cim in srilanka does it worth to do ?

Planning to do CIM ( Not CIMA) in Sri Lanka. Any advice?
I’m planning to do CIM in Sri Lanka and would like to get some advice from people who have completed it or are currently studying it

I’m thinking of doing CIM Level 4, then Level 6 and Level 7, and eventually getting an MBA. Is this pathway worth it for a career in marketing, digital marketing or management?

Also, are there any good institutions in Sri Lanka for CIM? I’m mainly looking for good lecturers, proper guidance and reasonable fees.
Would really appreciate any advice or personal experience

people already in marketing what is your salary scale?

Career Path Advice: CIM vs CIMA vs ACCA😭

Guys, please help me. I’m honestly really confused about choosing my career path.
I’m not from an accounting background, and I feel completely lost about what I should choose.
I’m currently considering:

CIM → Marketing → eventually Marketing Manager
CIMA → Finance/Management Accounting
ACCA → Accounting/Finance/Audit
Or another career path

The main issue is that I’m **not particularly interested in accounting**. I’m more interested in marketing, communication, people-oriented work and business.

For those working in Sri Lanka:
How is the job market for marketing compared with accounting/finance?
Is CIM actually useful for getting a marketing job?
What kind of salary can I expect at entry level and after 3–5 years?

Ammooo, seeing our people’s salaries in another Reddit post… do you guys actually earn that much? 😭

Meanwhile, I’m sitting in the corner crying with my 65k salary.(A/L) Gov job

Seriously though, what did you guys study for your degrees? What field are you working in, and how did you reach that salary range?

If I want to earn that much, what degree or professional qualification + university course should I consider?

I’m not really passionate about IT or the healthcare sector. I’m more interested in other fields that have good earning potential, especially if I want to work abroad eventually.

Interested in business / commerce stream good at maths and logical thinking

What degrees/professional qualifications would you recommend?

Dear Sinhala speakers, please help me! I’m struggling to learn spoken Sinhala 😭

Hi everyone! I’m a Tamil speaker from an area where we mainly speak Tamil, so I’ve had very little exposure / 0 to Sinhala in my everyday life.
I genuinely want to learn spoken Sinhala, but I find it really, really difficult to start speaking, even though I’ve tried many times. I can understand a little, but when it comes to actually speaking, my mind just goes blank.
For those of you who grew up speaking Sinhala or learned it as a second language:
What helped you improve your spoken Sinhala?
How did you overcome the fear/awkwardness of making mistakes?
Are there any good YouTube channels, apps, books, or other resources?
Should I focus on grammar first, or just start speaking and learn naturally?
I really want to become comfortable speaking Sinhala, so any practical tips or advice would mean a lot to me! Thank you! ❤️

Non-accounting background is ACCA realistic for me at 29?

I’m 29 and currently studying Biological Science, but I’m seriously considering switching my career to accounting and starting ACCA.
I have zero accounting background, so I’m wondering how difficult ACCA would be for someone coming from a Biology/Science background. I’m planning to study full-time, so I can dedicate several hours every day to it.
For those who started ACCA without an accounting background:

How difficult did you find the first few papers?
Did you need to do a foundation course first, or could you start ACCA directly?

How long did it realistically take you to complete all the exams?

How many hours per day did you study?
Which subjects were the hardest for someone without an accounting background?

Is it realistic to complete ACCA in around 2–2.5 years as a full-time student?

Would you recommend ACCA for someone making a complete career switch at 29?

I’d really appreciate honest experiences rather than promotional advice. I’m willing to work hard; I’m mainly concerned about whether my lack of an accounting background will put me at a major disadvantage.

Is ACCA Worth It Without a Degree? Career Advice Needed

Hi, I completed my A/Ls in the Bio Science stream and passed all my subjects. At that time, I had financial difficulties, so I couldn’t afford to attend a private university.
Around the same time, I was selected for a government job, where I worked for five years and saved around LKR 10 million.
Now I’m in my late 20s years old, and I’m planning to study ACCA. I left my job because I wanted to build a better career. My highest qualification is A/Ls, but I’ve always enjoyed accounting. I also studied Commerce for my O/Ls and received an A grade.
I have a few questions:
Will completing ACCA help me get a good job, or do I also need a degree?
Could you tell me more about ACCA?
Which college or institute would you recommend for studying ACCA?
What salary can I expect at the beginning of my career?
Do you think ACCA is a good choice for me?
How is the current job market for ACCA professionals?
I’m not married, and I don’t plan to get married for at least the next three years, so I can fully focus on my studies and career.

International Student Moving to Bendigo – What Qualifications Do I Need for Part-Time Work?

Hello amazing peeps,
I’m an international student and I’ll be coming to Bendigo in the next two months to start my undergraduate studies.
I wanted to ask what qualifications or requirements I would need to get a part-time job there, especially if I want to work as an early childhood educator or in childcare while studying.
Do I need a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, a Working With Children Check, First Aid certification, or any prior experience? I’d really appreciate any advice from people living or studying in Bendigo.
Thank you!
