Thoughts?

So, I’ve been reading about my facial asymmetry (similar to a palsy) and something occurred to me with the variability. I’ve always thought FND was a relapsing and remitting condition, like MS can be. BUT, I didn’t realise that NONE of the symptoms were permanent?

I have a permanent baseline of disability and I relapse and remit from this place. I don’t relapse and remit from my old self. But, in full disclosure my doctor suspects I have GBS (that was not properly tested for or treated) and FND. I’m 4 years in.

So, I wanted to ask in this group about what the variability means? I know we can different sets of symptoms (eg. Some get seizures, some don’t). But in terms of our own variability. Does FND itself go away and come back again for all symptoms? And do the symptoms you experience themselves, vary?

Just accidentally messaged a client back on Teams saying that “I love being part of you”, instead of it. I MEANT I LOVE BEING PART OF IT.

Luckily they thought it was hilarious but I am dead now.

This is a 4 hour break down for those who love the legals, from a defense attorney perspective. I found it thoroughly interesting and it really peeled back the legal arguments (I’m in Australia so don’t understand US/Idaho law).

If anyone else has seen or heard other good legal/technical breakdowns, feel free to share in comments as always interested in different perspectives.

4 years in. Was totally paralysed head to toe when it first happened. Almost had to be ventilated.

Finally got back on a bike recently.

Well, it’s so freeing. It’s easier than walking. Driving is too. My neuro says it’s because my brain has to do more things to walk than ride.

Just sharing how bizarre this condition is. I want to ride everywhere and get frustrated when I have to walk 😆

Ps. My riding is not perfect. I’m slow and I’ve already fallen off once.

What are your thoughts on this episode? What’s your theory? Did it really tell us anything we didn’t already know, aside from the grumpy text message from Nanos?

I feel like the theory they presented seems too convoluted, and perhaps could be a red herring? Occam’s razor and all that. But, of course, I could be wrong. It’s just… Serious criminals are not going to make their lives harder than they need to be with convoluted crimes. Either these perps were complete knuckleheads or they ain’t it.

I’m not sure if I believe the ransom notes are genuine.

Edited to add: I’m reading on Google that kidnap for ransom is rare in countries like Australia and the US and usually involve some organised crime dispute (much more common in other countries like South Africa, for example).
