TapLink X3 v1.6.0 - Phone Control & Quality of Life Updates

If you're not familiar, TapLink X3 is a custom web browser built for X3 Pro. It was probably the first third party app available on the RayNeo X3 Pro and really opens up a world of possibilities on the glasses. If you would like more info, I have a video on my channel about the browser itself. This one is just a quick update.

This update has quite a few small changes and a couple big ones.

The biggest one is that we now have a phone controller app. Like many other apps I decided to add a phone side controller for those who want an easier way to control the browser.

It acts as the text input when connected so you dont have to type on the glasses and has a dedicated scroll bar.

It also makes it easier to enter your groq api key so you can use ai features of the browser if you want.

There have also been some smaller changes like fixing an issue where when you changed your glasses screen size you got double cursors and google messages saying you need to update your browser. (YAY)

There's more in here I'm sure but that's all I can think of right now. If you guys run into any issues let me know.

Download it here: https://github.com/informalTechCode/TAPLINKX3/releases/tag/v1.6.0

Let's Deep Dive The MemoMind Ones - HUD AI Glasses With No Camera

I've been testing out the MemoMind Ones and honestly I have been really enjoying them so far. To the point where I rock these as my daily drivers and the pre-production unit I am testing doesn't have my prescription! lol

One note on this deep dive is, they immediately put out an update after I finished editing it, so it is a bit different now, but I will post an update on them for sure so hit subscribe.

My favorite thing about them has been the battery life by far. I took them off the charger in the morning and they didn't die until the NEXT night. The multi-device audio is sick too.

I use them mostly for HUD notifications, calendar checks and random ai questions but there are some really cool features like the wish list and day/week recaps (came in the update).

LMK if you guys have anymore questions and I'll try to answer or include them in the next update video.

Random side note. Go enter the giveaway on my channel!

My Flight Got Delayed While On Board. Glad I just got the Ultra + Neckband Pro Combo

I'm still exploring this combo and so far it's super fun. The hand detection is surprisingly good.

Unboxing the LUMA ULTRAS!

I just opened up the Luma Ultras and got a chance to use them on a flight today. Initial impressions are good! Crisp image, bright and they feel light.

I think I need another pair of sound tubes for these but once I get a good feel for them I'll be doing a full review, and a few comparisons.

I also got the neckband pro so if you have some pro tips throw them my way lol

Coffee Shop Work Day #FeedTheBeast

Ever since I got the Beasts I haven't been able to use anything else for my remote work. Having native 3dof is a must on a locked down computer. So glad I picked these up!

I'm Filming my MemoMind One Deep Dive. What do you still want to know?

I got the thumbs up to speak about whatever, so let me know what questions you still have. I'll be recording today and tomorrow and will likely post tomorrow afternoon.

I wasn't able to make it to the event so MemoMind was kind enough to let me check out one of the pre-production units. In this video I talk about my first impressions with the device.

I don't go into too much detail about the actual use and features because I haven't been given the okay for that yet, but I have some pretty cool footage ready to go when I do.

If you have any questions you want answered in a future video drop them here.

I've seen quite a bit of chatter about prescription inserts and while there are cheap (and slow) options, like aliexpress. I have been using HonsVR for quite a while and they've always been quick to ship and respond to any questions or concerns.

This video is just a quick overview of their prescription offerings for the Air series. Stop trying to make it work without your prescription lol. You need to see clearly to appreciate these glasses.

I love this little device. It's the only way I am really willing to use my phone with display glasses anymore. Sort of levels the playing field with pucks like INAIR Pod.

Mouse touchpad, volume buttons, laser pointer (totally not needed but awesome if you run into a cat) and a back/home button.

I made a quick video of the BEAST update and I'm pleasantly surprised at how big of a difference 1200p is over 1080p.

I was like, meh, what's a few pixels vertically. but It really allowed for the whole image to expand and it's WAY more obvious than I expected.

I did a little test in the video so come check it out.

We did it! Thanks to awesome communities like this one, my channel Informal Tech has reached an astounding 2,000 subscribers!

That may sound small compared to the mega influencers that exist now but to me it's something I previously thought impossible.

I can't express how much our community means to me. I've been a tech nerd forever but never really had anyone to share the love of tech with and now I have 2000+ of you!

Thank you so much for being a part of this journey and tune in to the link above at 6pm (MT) tomorrow (April 23) to join this massive giveaway for your chance to win 1 of 8 pairs of smart glasses, and INAIR Pod or a Pocket TV.

I am still talking with a few brands so if we can get more prizes I will note it in a separate post, but let's gooooo!

Also, you guys made this possible by using code "informaltech" for your purchases at the RayNeo (or VITURE) sites to save 10% and using my affiliate links for other sites like INAIR. So again. Thank you and good luck!
