My brother and I headed out early this morning for a quick ride toward Sholavandhan to check out the Vaigai River. We were hoping for a dip, but since the river was dry, we started heading back feeling a bit disappointed—and very hungry.

In an area with almost no shops, we stumbled upon a small outlet with a "Muniyandi Vilas" board. We weren't sure if it was the real deal or just a name, but with no other options, we decided to give it a try.

It was a modest, small-scale spot, but they do things the traditional way Everything is served on fresh banana leaves, even if you only order a single idli or dosa, We ordered the Pongal, the sambhar and the chutneys taste was incredible. We honestly weren't expecting that level of quality from such a quiet location.

Recommendation

If you find yourself riding through the Sholavandhan area, this place is definitely worth a stop. It’s a great example of a "hole-in-the-wall" spot that lets the food speak for itself. I managed to snap a few quick photos, though I kept it low-key to respect the local village atmosphere.

It's funny how the best meals usually happen when you have zero expectations.
