You guys were right, the final boss is a great fight and very well-designed!

I made a post a while ago, talking about my only disappointment with the game was the final boss. However, I learned that fight while really eagerly wanting to experience the ending and was perhaps a bit too impatient. I fought it a bunch more times now and I can consistently clear it without really getting hit. That is the sign of a good boss fight, when it initially feels like almost insurmountable but then can be clear and mastered with some practice.

I do think that the initial learning phase of the second phase is kind of difficult and punishing though. It took me a while to figure out all the different moves. I also maybe still do think that her health is a bit too high making repeating the first phase last a lot longer than it usually does in games like these. Then again, perhaps with less health it would be easier to luck your way through the fight without properly learning it? So I get that this is a tough balancing act.

Just one question though, does the battle memories have more health than the one I faced in the regular game? Or am I just misremembering it? I tried googling it, but found different answers.

Would you recommend X4: Foundations?

It's on sale right now. I enjoy space games, especially if they are immersive. I heard some mixed things about this one though. I heard that it is complex with confusing UI and a steep learning curve, but also that it is ambitious and a great sim. I honestly love building in games and going from zero to hero, so this looks appealing to me.

I make build guides for Path of Exile, so I do not mind complexity, but I prefer it if a game can be figured autonomously instead of having to rely on several youtube tutorials. I am not sure how intuitive this game is and how much time I will be spending on youtube? I for example used to love the old Freelancer game, but that game was rather intuitive.

Would you recommend this game? Why or why not?

I finally played it! Such a wonderful game and love letter to HK, but the final boss was doing too much in my opinion.

I've had this game in my library for a while and finally got around to playing it. I loved Sekiro and Hollow Knight is one of my favorite games of all-time. Had I known how much this game actually draws from Hollow Knight, I would have probably played it a lot sooner. Almost every part of this game is amazing. The artwork, the music, the lore, the combat and the story are all absolutely top notch. I loved all the characters too. The true ending hits a lot better than the regular one though and I do feel like it's a shame that it can be missed rather easily.

However, there then was a massive difficulty spike in the final fight. Suddenly, I could no longer play on reflexes and had to memorize the fight. Suddenly, I barely had any attack opportunities after hitting a good series of parries. This kind of annoyed me. I liked how throughout the game, I was rewarded with an opening after hitting for example a jump counter or an unbounded counter. However, this asshole just either recovered super fast or teleported away. I honestly did not really enjoy this shift and found the fight mostly annoying. I think that maybe if some of her attacks would come out slower and if for example to teleport slam was easier to parry and had a better attacking window, I would have enjoyed it more.

The problem with having few attacking opportunities is that the first phase then takes a bit of time. So when you then suddenly get a second phase with completely new attacks that can absolutely obliterate you, come out really fast and have various confusing variations, I quickly became annoyed with having to slog through the first phase only to just get blasted by an attack without much opportunity to learn.

Anyway, I loved the game still. I do not know how to final boss is broadly received by the community. Do people generally like this fight? For me this was a bit out of sync with the rest of the game and doing a bit too much. More frustrating than fun for me. Just a small complaint about a game I otherwise absolutely loved

The First Berserker Khazan : Do not let its reputation stop you from playing it.

I like difficult games. Most of the time. Some times, games just verge into annoying and frustrating territory when they try to add difficulty to their game. So I was very wary of playing First Berserker because it has this reputation for being brutally difficult and I feel like this is often just code for difficulty that is no longer enjoyable.

However, recently I decided to give this game a try anyway. I had an itch for something similar after playing through Nioh and bought this game. I played the game on the hardest difficulty you can start with and it was honestly an enjoyable experience. Some bosses are tough, but they are fair and the combat is very responsive. It was rarely frustrating and I feel like its notoriety is a bit unwarranted. If you have beaten Souls games, you will probably be able to beat this one just the same.

There were some frustrating elements though that turned the game from a 9/10 to an 8/10 for me. First off, there are two bosses with gimmicks I really disliked. Namely one that has an annoyingly effective shield and then a massive boss who is hard to hit. It just does not fit the combat and these were just not as enjoyable as the other bosses. Some constantly do dart away rather than engage you, which was also a bit annoying, but overall they are well-designed and fair. Secondly, you can't jump yet there are some platforming sections. They are sparse, but still annoyed me. Finally, the gearing is a bit too easy. You can essentially just craft whatever you like, making drops useless for most of the game.

I did spread out my playing time across a year though. The game never grabbed me by the balls, even though I was always happy to return to it. I think that the mission structure just does less for me than an open world does. Still, I would give this game an 8/10 and I am glad to have given it a chance.

Burgeon works with Hollow Form, right? Why are so few people using it?

Just curious. It does not do anything in PoB, but it is a "valid" support gem according to the game, so it should work? If it does, it is good after only 1s of channeling and massive after 2s.

Wouldn't it be much better than Blindside? I am kind of having to drop 1 between Vorana's Siege, Heavy swing, Blindside and Burgeon.

Does Repulsion on Blasphemy do a lot for clear?

I am playing Martial Artist with Hollow Form. I do not see a lot of other people run Repulsion on their Blasphemy and instead most opt for Temporal Chains.

However, it seems like Repulsion is a quite significant improvement to my clear? I just don't know if I am imagining things because that kind of stuff is hard to test.

What do you think about Repulsion?

Machiavelli - Hogging the King?

I just played Machiavelli, the city-building card game, with someone. It was just the two of us. The game tells you to pick a character to play and one you do not want picked that round.

I simply removed the King every time. This way I was able to pick first every single time and only sacrificed one ban. Doesn't this feel like an oversight? Is this maybe just an issue with only two players?

Anyone has any insight?

Looking for a very easy game to play while watching something

It's the NBA play-offs, but there's a lot of time in between the actual basketball.

So I am looking for a game that is very intuitive to play, not too complex and that I can easily take my eyes off to watch basketball in between. Bonus points if it is something novel and with great artwork or visuals.

Any use for Mythic seals on Rogue?

I have two Mythic seals, one for two unique charms and one with less set required.

I initially thought that the second one would be BiS, but I did not realize you had to equip minimum two of one set to get any sort of bonus.

So do these have any use, especially for Poison Rogue DoK? It just seems like the Sightless 6p bonus is irreplaceable, no? I tried some stuff, but it just made my build worse.

Which one is better for Poison DoK Rogue?

Title. Which one do you think is better? The right one has higher roles, but I think that attack speed is pretty strong for DoK even if it is not a priority?

Why is the game not registering my Pit 120 clear?

I am comfortably doing Pit 120 with DoK, but the leaderboards claim that my highest clear is 115?

What gives?

Will they re-enable Umbracrux?

Do you think that they will re-enable with a nerf attached to it any time soon?

I love my Rogue, but it is kind of depressing how I have insane gear and do a fraction of the DPS of my Barb who has shitty gear.

I am hoping that they will nerf Umbracrux a bit, but still make it good. Any chance of that happening?
