Thinking about those in precarious Domestic Violence situations where they've been given an escape phones which they've been instructed by the police to keep charged and on.
Not to mention undercover police officers with burners strapped to their socks.
A higher risk of fires is a big deal but there could have at least been a warning that the emergency alert will go out a day, 6 hours or an hour before just to warn people with extra phones in dire situations.

I was watching a video about an influencer talking g about the shop "Aldi" which in the UK we pronounce "Al-di" but Americans seem to pronounce "Aul-di".
Same with names like Anna or Ann. We say "Ahn" but Americans say "Auhn"
Where does this come from? Is any one pronunciation right?

I took half a day off work for an engineer who would turn up between 14:00 and 18:00. I confirmed my phone number with them beforehand.

They never showed. But later I received a text saying "sorry we missed you". I called customer support to find there was a note on the system saying they'd turned up and we weren't home and that they had tried to call me.

I've had no calls (they even confirmed my number) and nobody has approached my house. I was home and my cameras are movement sensitive and caught nothing.

What do I do about this blatant lying?
I was wondering if my Filey dialect would make me sound American? Its ridiculous how many times Ive been asked this.
My vowels might be rounder if I think about it but its so common now. My fiancé's parents thought I was American.
I hate it. Hate it so much.
He was living in Yorkshire. A Trinidadian immigrant who went on to make a wonderful family and eventually me and my sister.
