Michigan weather makes forecast apps inaccurate?

Hi, i recently moved to Southeast Michigan from the NE area, and I'm finding that my hourly based forecast app (weather.com) isnt very accurate?

For instance, just now it showed no rain for the rest of the night (9:14pm), yet all of a sudden it started pouring...

Is this supposed to happen? Where im from the app is usually 99% accurate, especially if looking at the most recent upcoming hours.

Elbow flaring... correct on the way up?

Hi, so im not new to lifting but have been researching bench form. Is it correct to say that my elbows should be less than 90° on the way down, basically tucked, but on the way UP, some flaring is correct and even encouraged?

For water filtration: Can I use chlorine and then use a water filter pitcher? For safe and "tasty" water?

Hi, so ive been thinking about water filtration methods.

If I use chlorine dioxide first to get rid of the bacteria, parasites, and some viruses, and then used a brita (etc) water filter pitcher, would that cover everything needed to make the water 100% safe and normal-tasting?

Please share your thoughts, thanks!

edit: SO! ive discovered that brita and other normal filters wont get rid of parasites. in this case what about using a gravity system using the sawyer squeeze?

Where to find the best Karaage (Japanese Fried chicken)?

Hi! Im around the SGV area, but anywhere would work.

Which restaurant has the best Japanese Karaage like the type you'd find in Japan?

Super crunchy yet soft, moist interior?

Please recommend!

Visiting soon! Where can I find small portions of different dishes in Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, etc. dishes?

Where can I find a place that serves or sells a variety of different dishes in smaller portions?

For instance, Japanese grocery stores with bento boxes, or Woorijip in Manhattan (korean small lunchboxes), or Chinese 3 dish one soup, etc

Cuisine doesn't matter. Mexican, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, etc.

Bright Zinc vs Hard Chrome: Which one is more rust resistant?

I have two bars in my budget and they are Bright Zinc and Hard Chrome.

I am in a high humidity area in the US and will be mostly lifting in a humid garage.

Which coating is more rust/corrosion resistant?

Which is more preferable?

Ryobi String Trimmer, 18V or 40V? Small yard, <1/4 acre.

Hi! Ive recently bought a greenworks mower and would like to expand my collection of Ryobi tools.

For a small, 1/4 acre lawn, would I need a 40V string trimmer? Or would 18V be sufficient?

I'm looking to buy something good for around $120 or so, hopefully.

Thanks for any help!

Confused with regards to wifi video doorbells...

Hi, I recently moved into a house for the first time and would like to know about video doorbells.

If I buy a local storage, non cloud, wifi enabled video camera such as Reolink or Tapos, what would the danger of these units be?

They have wifi. Is that an issue if the video is locally stored?

Arsenic...Should I be concerned at all? Moving away from non-stick.

Hi everyone, I'm currently using non-stick and stainless steel cookware and would like to buy a carbon steel wok.

I was going to get carbon steel but had no clue it could leech arsenic. Is this something I should be concerned about at all? Or is it overblown and unrealistic?

I am planning on moving my family away from non-stick cookware, so any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Making tough meats tender - mincing meats?

Hello! So I know that you can do many things to make a tough cut of meat tender: slow cooking, tenderizing, braising, etc.

But what about mincing the meat? For example a Beef Chuck Roast. Couldn't you simply mince the beef chuck, and then just form it into a patty, meatballs, etc then pan fry or grill, etc.?

Wouldn't that also work well and be far quicker?

E.g. slow cooking for 2 hours vs. mincing, forming patties, then frying them (maybe 30 minutes)?

Does anyone mince their meats to make them tender, and can you recommend your recipes? Thanks!

Walmart Greenworks 60v vs Costco Greenworks 48V? Which mower is superior?

Hi, first time home owner and I'm looking to buy a lawnmower. I've already purchased the 60v mower but found this Costco sale which has a good blower.

Is the Costco 48V mower better than the Greenworks 60v mower from Walmart?

I am in the Midwest by the lakes. Thanks!

Returning to the gym: isnt agressive cutting more efficient?

Since its far easier to lose fat than it is to gain new lean muscle mass, isnt it better to be more aggressive during the cut and less aggressive during the bulk?

Isnt it that the sooner you finish cutting, the earlier you can return to the bulking phase and regain+gain new mass?

quick edit: no i will not be using any form of steroids

Does anyone understand how pulleys work? If I do this setup, will each handle have half the weight (2:1 ratio)?

Hi, so ive been looking at power racks and many of them have a single lat pulldown like in the video above.

I'm thinking of doing what this person did and adding two handles.

Can someone please let me know if doing this would essentially convert the system from 1:1 to 2:1?

Basically if I load 50lbs, would each handle only have 25lbs like on an actual dual pulley system?

Thanks!

Here are two videos showing this system. [One](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZQ9ez-1zJ0) and [two](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KFUmMxGGXBc)

1 or 2 guide rods? Does it make a difference? Does it matter?

Hi!

To those with lat pulldown machines or power rack pulleys, does the number of guide rods matter?

Is two guide rods better than one guide rod?

I'm still looking around at power racks and a lot of them only have one guide rod... I'm wondering if I should buy one with two guide rods?

Thanks!

Hello, so I'm thinking of buying my first ever power cage with a single pulley system.

So, if I wanted to go from 20 to 22.5 lbs (i have a lot of 2.5plates), would it be okay to add the 2.5 on one side only? I would have 10 on each side, plus 2.5 on one arm.

I would stagger them as I progress from 22.5 to 25 to 27.5 and so on. Please see picture for what I mean.
