Poutine “The Disasterpiece” from L’atelier in Gattenau, Quebec

The thing had onion rings, jalapeno poppers, cheese sticks, chicken tenders, bacon, bbq sauce, chipotle mayo sauce, buffalo sauce, and green onions all on top of the poutine

Here we go, first time playthrough

I am going into this game completely blind I’m pretty sure, I’ve finished persona 5 royal and persona 3 reload, I started 4 golden but for some reason I feel this game… beckoning to me, if that’s possible. I came into both other games I’ve played with a little bit of info, here I have no clue what to expect. Hopefully this game matches the standards set by p5 and P3R

Just finished P3R

Gonna give my full thoughts so SPOILERS!

Ok imma get negatives outta the way cause I did love this game and I don’t wanna sound like I hated it. TARTARUS IS THE WORST DESIGNED THING IVE EVER EXPERIENCED. Youre telling me that atlus had 18 YEARS to improve Tartarus and thats what we got? I mean if the og was ANY WORSE I probably would’ve dropped the game so I’m glad I played reload. But Jesus Christ how’d they make mementos WORSE???? The structure is somehow more repetitive and annoying and there just Aint any variation! For 250 floors! But I’m sure everyone here has already heard that to death at this point so I’ll cut it short, my other complaints are:

Moon Social Link
Too much Artificial difficulty (instakill attacks)

This concludes the negatives

I LOVED IT SO MUCH OMG!!! I think I still prefer Persona 5 Royal but THAT WAS THE BEST ENDING TO ANYTHING EVER. The story was fantastic 10/10, the whole October section in general was so well executed, and the TWIST with the director being the traitor???? I thought the “traitor” was Amada for kinda causing Aragaki to die so it came as a complete shock to me! Also all the main characters were really fun on screen ( Besides sometimes Mitsuru she’s my least fav of the main cast but still ok :) ) and I was touched by everyone’s motivations, even the dog! I was gonna write about each of them but I kinda just wanna talk about Junpei ( the GOAT) so I’ll just do that.

Junpei is one of my favourite characters now. Full stop. Not limited to just persona. Hes someone I really relate to, giving up on old dreams because they’re “silly” or whatever and not having any real direction in your life, and even just being the but if the joke a lot of the time. His inferiority complex to Sui Cydal (the MC I don’t know his official name) was incredably well written and him overcoming it and his pride was really nice to see for his character growth. But his relationship with Chidori is the crown jewel of his character imo. One of his big charcter flaws is that he can be a bit perverted when he hangs around females (it also being a running joke) makes his earnesty toward Chidori that much more special, like he finally gets to have a relationship with a girl who actually care about him and he actually cares about her for more than her body, all of the scenes with them together in the hospital were my favourites in the entire game, which makes what happens to Chidori all tho more tragic when it does happen. Junpei, watching the one person he finally connected with on a deeper level die in his arms after she saved him, and then their personas fusing together to give him a new will to fight is JUST SO FUCKINV GOOD I CANT.

The other thing I’ll touch up on are the social links, I didn’t complete some (Got Fukka and Art Club to rank 9, Yukari to 7, Star to 5, and Aiegas , that one girl who’s scared of guys ,and Mitsuru to 1) but of the ones I completed here’s my top 5

Dying Young Man- Really melancholic tone that seems really bleak until you slowly see the guy get better and accept his death. Don’t know wtf happened at Rank 10 tho why did he just disapate. His ending with his mother was also quite the tear jerker

Maiko- One of the best depictions of a child in media tbh. Maiko being torn a part and confused by her parents divorce is so well written, and I loved seeing them reconcile. Also like how they went through with the divorce instead of taking the easy way out and having them get back together

Yuko- My romance choice! Yuko was kinda like a mini version of Junpeis arch, but it has its own spin on things and I loved seeing her gain more and more confidence throughout the ranks!

Tanaka- I can’t really explain this one well, Tanaka is just very well written. His manor of speach was always so engaging, and I like his little redemption arc of giving his stuff to charity. Also his ending with him telling the press to fuck off was really well done.

Bebe- Probably my favourite Social link tbh. I always found Bebe to so infectiously optimistic in the early ranks, and his interjection of Japanese words was hilarious to me. It made his sadness that he had to leave in the later ranks even sadder to me, and I really wanted him to succeed at rank 10. What really got me was his ending letter. The growth and emotion in that letter exemplifies why I love this game so much, it’s all about becoming better than your previous self, and his decision to stay with his uncle brought a tear to my eye, especially at the end with the “the last letters are smudged” bit.

Before I stop I do have a question cause apparently every persona game has a difficulty spike, but there wasn’t really one in this game, it was pretty easy overall, so was I lied to or am I just a god gamer.

Im glad I signed the contract

A really easy way to beat okumara

Ok so you know those items where you deal set elemental damage and you never use them cause they suck most of the time and you have a stockpile of? Well if you use that and an enemy has a weakness to it, you still trigger a baton pass! So if you don’t have many party members that cover a robots weakness, just use the appropriate item until theres only one standing, then pass to someone with the weakness, and then all out attack. Repeat until death. This is how I beat okumara on my playthrough, and I haven’t seen many people talk about this method.
