My KFC Method To Get 18 Pieces of Chicken + Sides For Under £15

Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster! I’ll start my acknowledging this isn’t ultra frugal in the sense you’re probably not buying fast food if you’re really squeezing the pennies, but it’s merely a way to maximise what you can get.

Thought some of you may be interested in this little technique I’ve learnt with KFC, if you’re looking for a cheap, bigger order on fast food that’s normally in the £40ish region.

Works better if you live close to a KFC or have access to a car.

Until the end of August, KFC has a In-App, collection only deal. It’s 10 mini fillets for £7.99. They do this deal throughout the year on and off and sometimes swap it out for a ‘20 hot wings for £8.99’ deal.

If you go on the app, and add this to your order, you can upgrade for £2 something. The upgrade gets you 2 of their sides, for this I’m choosing 2x fries (counted as one side) and 1x Large Gravy. Next the ‘Why Don’t You Add This?’ Screen comes up where it presents you with normally discounted things you can add to your order, you can add 8 wings for £4 there.

In total, you’re getting 18 pieces of chicken, 2 bags of fries and a large gravy for the cost of 1 Large Big Arch meal from McDonald’s. Obviously you can pay using a Cashback reward card and get an extra 14p off if you want to go the extra mile.

As someone who’s feeding a family, I thought there may be others out there who’d appreciate this as if you went for a standard ‘bucket’ deal you’re paying like £40ish pound for a very similar thing. They also hide this offer on their app, there’s no mention of it unless you’ve seen the limited advertising they do as it’s a loss leader for them.

Welfare Spending Has Been Down or Stable since 2012 (Down 2%) - Why Does Nobody Address This?

Here’s something that’s really been bugging my brain with all the talk about welfare cuts.

Both on here and in the media you constantly here that it’s out of control, etc and they use every metric to measure welfare to show spending is through the roof etc, expect the one we commonly use for defence and the ‘proper’ way to measure spend, which is the percentage of GDP.

It’s funny because I will watch a program or post discuss how we need to push defence spending up to the 3% target, and nobody bats an eye, but in the same breath people will measure welfare spending from 2020 to now in a £ figure, or list the increase of sick people after the pandemic, without addressing things like inflations and.. the pandemic.

Nobody ever seems to bring up the fact welfare peaked in 2012 at 12ish% and thanks to many years of cuts (like freezing housing benefit for a decade) it’s back down to 10ish%.

Are we all just ignoring this on purpose? Why isn’t it brought up on shows or posts more regularly to fact check some of the rabble rousing?

Regardless Of Who You Support, That Mexico vs England Match Was Absolute Cinema

I’ve watched so many World Cups, so many Champions League Finals, so many worldwide Leauge runs, but that match right there was the reason I love football. It had EVERYTHING, The players gave EVERYTHING to their countries. Like it had me in sweats.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen many teams unexpectedly dominate, many surprises etc but that match was true football. So much to unpack…

England, down to 10 men, after spending the whole tournament being criticised for their defence, had to defend an onslaught of Mexican attack, while the Mexicans, critiqued for their finishing, tried absolutely everything to bring it to extra time.

We had shots off the post, VAR penalties for both sides, some amazing saves, World Cup history with 2 goals In 90 seconds from the same player, a penalty scored and conceded by the same player, an ungodly atmosphere in the Azteca.

Honestly, just truly truly incredible scenes to witness live.

A Compilation Of Conspiracies & Controversial Opinions In Jackass

These are only ones that spring to mind, but if anyone else can add solid ones to the list, feel free! For the record, I don’t condone or agree/disagree with these opinions, they’re just common things controversial opinions I’ve seen over the years that I can see are founded in some level of truth at least, but they very well could be wrong, hence they are ‘controversial’

- The Only Reason Jackass Forever Was Made Is Because Knoxville Lost Paramount A lot of Money with ‘Action Point’

So for those who don’t know, Knoxville, Tremaine and Dickhouse had a long running deal with Paramount, and when Knoxville released Action Point in 2018, it was one of the biggest box office bombs of the year, costing roughly 40 million to make (including marketing) and netting only 5 million at the box office.

A lot of people believe that Paramount where going to void
their long running deal unless Knoxville and others did another Jackass instalment, to make back their losses.

- Don Vito Was Actually a Character

A fairly well known one is that Don Vito was a character, this stems from his court case where he tried to get out of his charges by arguing his persona was one for TV, which sounds like absolute BS until you realise he was actually a very smart guy, dude was a tax accountant and involved in a luggage logistics business apparently .

The Don Vito we saw on TV you could argue even in his best state, wouldn’t be able to do that stuff, you could say he was almost very mentally retarded, so you do wonder if the persona for TV thing is more true than we initially think.

- The Reactions Were Over Dramatised for the Camera and More Scripted Than We’d Like To Think

This is one stems from one stunt in particular, Terror Taxi from Jackass 2, Ehren has stated that he was fully aware what was happening there and he hammed it up for a reaction, but even in subsequent movies the idea of ‘hamming it up’ has been mentioned a lot, like the one liners have been thought out in advance, the laughing is kind of faked (especially when you think that some stunts took multiple takes etc) and post Jackass Two, it was more of a ‘Hollywood production’ trying to recreate and sell it as what they originally had in the degenerate years prior.

- Jackass: Best and Last Was Only Made To Meet Paramounts Pledge For Theatrical Releases

This one is fresh but a lot of people agree that the way this one was announced on IG by Johnny and marketed as ‘Jackass 5’ right up until more word came out it’d be a compilation movie, and the fact new footage was all filmed in two weeks just reeked of ‘contractual obligations’

- They Never Wanted Bam on Forever

A common one is the idea that Johnny, Jeff and the crew didn’t want Bam and, at the time, his ‘Save Me Dr Phil’ meth and alcohol addiction tainted the vibes of Forevers early footage, so they got him to sign a very strict sobriety contract and kept him on it throughout the covid lockdown when filming wasn’t scheduled, hoping he would fail. Bam being an isolated addict in lockdown away from the cast and crew still had to prescribe to in person drug tests at random times in the day and night once a week, and for a unknown amount of time (or until covid restrictions where lifted which at the time was an unknown). Some people think the test footage they shot prior was enough for the cast to realise he was too sick to participate so they were looking for an out.

How Long Do We Think It’ll Be Until Knoxville ‘Gets The Itch’?

He always says he gets like ‘the itch’ to do it again, how he has binders of ideas, and he’ll send himself messages if he comes up with one out and about to add to the folder.

We know that this is the end of Jackass as we know it, but we can be assured they’ll try and reboot it, or have some kind of spinoff with a new cast after it’s rested for a bit (paramount aren’t going to let a highly successful, cheap to make and critically well received franchise go out for too long)

So when do you think it’ll be back? And what form will it take?

Dave Strike Gold Again With New Comedy Show ‘The Way Out’

Not sure how many people would’ve seen this being on Dave and having quite a mundane sounding name, you may have skipped over it, but if you’re a fan of Taskmaster and you remember it’s beginnings on Dave, I think you should check this one out because I can see it being a sleeper hit.

It’s a really simple concept, 2 teams of comedians compete to clear escape rooms, whoever’s fastest wins.

I don’t know if that sells it, but you can properly tell whoever made this did with proper love and care.

The set designs and challenges are so fantastically thought out for presumably a low budget show, and it brings that impromptu ‘Last One Laughing’ / ‘Taskmaster’ vibe that makes for some really naturally funny moments. The current cast for this series are also great.

I’m gonna make a prediction and say if it gets a few series it’ll be a sleeper hit and eventually a bigger channel or streaming service will buy it.

What’s With All The Parties Trying To Ban Everything Now?

I’m just looking at the tories proposal today to replace cash with ration cards for criminals receiving benefits. And it’s really got me thinking, why tf is every party going ban and censorship crazy?

Like they’ve banned smoking, brought in the Online Saftey Act, they’re on about seriously clamping down on gambling, banned disposable vapes, we recently got rid of but did have those ‘non-hate crime incidents’ that was essentially curbing free speech, banning artists and acts from the uk, banning protest groups etc etc

Everytime I turn on the news, all the parties are floating banning something or other, and I’m like wtf? I expect that with the left because they’ve always believed in big ‘top down’ government, but what’s with right?

There was a time a part of the right believed in light touch government and personal liberalism, and that seems to have gone out the window, to the point where if I was wanting to vote for someone to just stay out of my life/decision making, there’s no options!

I know apparently we love a good ban, according to the data, but then why do I never meet anyone who agrees with this stuff in real life?

Listening To Olivia Dean At Big Weekend on TV and Realising You’re Getting Old

So as title suggests, I’m watching Olivia Deans set

Now, I like think I’m quite plugged in with what’s happening with rising stars, rock, rap etc, but naturally in my early 30s, its getting harder and harder to do that!

What’s got me with Olivia Dean is I first heard about her when it was award season, and she was on Later with Jools Holland at the same time, next thing I’ve heard is she had the best selling UK album of 2025.. still, I naively thought she was some kind of niche act for older folk (her music is very M&S advert if you get me) or maybe even a strange industry plant (the type you get every now and then)

But looking at her performance tonight, it seems I’m completely wrong! I guess it’s because I’ve not seen any of her songs on shorts, or anyone fanning her online, or really much play on the little I listen to the radio.. she’s probably the first bigger up and coming star that I’ve completely missed and it’s made me feel my age, time goes fast kids!

To Hate Watch or Support at 4pm?

I don’t know what to do here 😂 with both games on at the same time and so much at stake, I don’t know if I should tune into the one where I’m actively hate watching and praying for the loss or support watch and cheer for the win (although realistically swear at the TV)

Which one are you doing? I feel like the hammers match is more important as that’s a must win, Spurs starting with a 66% chance of getting what they need compared to the hammers with the base 33%

What you all think?

The Jeremy Vine Show Is The Cheapest, AI Filled, Unhinged Hellscape.. And I’m Addicted

I don’t know how many of you have seen this show, but it’s like a morning panel show on Channel 5 that replaced ‘The Wright Stuff’ years ago, hosted by Jeremy Vine.

Now, I watch this show from time to time, and it’s crossed the line from ‘Daily Mail style outrage panelist show’, to inadvertently car crash TV that I can’t help but look at because it’s so, so bad.

First and foremost, their use of AI is something that you need to see yourself, all their graphics are now AI generated and it’s not well done AI, it’s like AI from 2022 where everything looks worse than a cheap Chinese mobile game.

It’s even funnier when Jeremy gets up and does a little presentation with these and he looks so amazed at these AI creations, like they’re the greatest things he’s ever seen, which makes it unintentionally hilarious tbh. They also frequently marvel at the ‘reality’ of some AI clips that are so clearly fake, it’s painful to watch.

The panelist’s are down on their luck ‘journos’ or ‘commentators’ and I say that because they’re paid like £50 for the slot and to fill the roles of the following - ‘shouting angry gammon person unreservedly shaking their fist at everything’ or ‘slightly less insufferable left wing annoying person who wants to ban everything and thinks Blackbeard is racist’

As you can tell, they’re the worst parts of their respective part of the spectrum, and it’s a real Punch and Judy show to watch them go back and forth while Jeremy Vine interjects with lines like an alien who just fell to earth and is doing their best to replicate Jeremy Kyle (‘War is good ya know? Gives the young people something to do! Gets the off benefits!’) etc

Occasionally they’ll bring on a celebrity guest who has a new book, show etc, and it’s very funny that they put them in between the two panelist’s and proceed to ask them about immigration, benefits, Israel etc. you can see them panicking as they try to temper the PR training!

Lastly you get the phone ins, which are full of the characters who you imagine are ringing into a show like this in 2026 at 10am in the morning.. lots of angry middle aged men, angry elderly women, the occasional NEET incel, it’s adds a bit of colour.

Honestly, jokes aside, I think it has to be the worst show I’ve ever watched on TV, if you find yourself with a morning off, give It a watch and you’ll see what I mean!
