1K wishlists! Thank you to everyone who supported me and Overvoid!

I post about the game here pretty often, asking for feedback and hearing what you guys think. I know 1,000 wishlists isn’t a huge number, but for me it’s still 1,000 real people who saw something interesting in my game.

Even if only 10% of you buy it, you’re my 10%, my brothers and sisters 😄

The game is almost done. I just need to finish the final chapter, then polish and balance everything.

Thank you guys! 🫶

When does difficulty stop being fun?

Hello guys!

How do you feel about hardcore games?

Personally, I love games that challenge me, the kind where you fail, learn what you did wrong, understand the enemy’s moves, and come back to try again.

I’m also a huge fan of space games, and combining these two things is basically how my game, Overvoid, was born.

But while developing it, I’ve started wondering how many players actually enjoy this kind of difficulty. Not everyone wants difficult levels, punishing boss fights, or having to learn an enemy’s moveset before finally beating them.

Do you enjoy games where dying and learning are part of the experience? Or is there a point where difficulty stops being fun and just becomes frustrating?

The video shows 4 boss fights from different chapters.

Overvoid stream

Hey everyone! I’m the developer of Overvoid. You may have seen my game around this subreddit since I’ve been posting updates quite often.

Today, a great streamer is going to play Overvoid live. Just like me, he’s only beginning his streaming journey, and this will actually be the first stream featuring my game. To be honest, I’m a little nervous, it’s my first time experiencing something like this, just like game development itself has been for me.

If you’d like to hang out, come join us today at 8:00 PM CEST. We’d be happy to see you there!

Quite a few players have been asking for a cockpit view. I kept delaying it because the game was originally designed only for third-person gameplay, but I finally gave it a try. I think it looks pretty well. What do you think?

Boss fight in Overvoid

I decided to buff one of the easiest bosses by giving it a combo of 5 different attacks. It kicked my ass in less than 30 seconds, even though I was flying one of the strongest ships in my fleet. I think I’ll leave it as is. Time to suffer 🥲🫡

Here is demo/wishlist please support me as solo-dev 🫶

I combined 3 mechanics in one game

Hi everyone! I’m a solo developer, and this is the game I’ve been working on for the past 8 months. Overvoid is a dark sci-fi roguelite space combat game where I combined three mechanics at once: Full 3D battles where the player fights off waves of enemies, completes quests, gathers resources, and battles bosses. A rail-shooter level (Star Fox style) where we fight off a horde of enemies, and my favorite part - a 2.5D platformer where we do essentially the same thing as in the rail level, but it fully opens up by mid-game with a surprise for players.

My solo game Overvoid reached 500 wishlists in the first few days of Next Fest, thank you so much for your support 🫶

P.S. If you played the demo version, please let me know what you think or maybe there’s anything you’d like to see added or changed, understanding players is really important to me.

Last time, some players didn’t like the controls and mentioned the lack of inverted controls, so I fixed that and added an alternative control option. I also updated a lot of small details and improved the fonts, since on larger screens those things were genuinely causing discomfort.

I can’t be the only one still awake tonight, right? “One more fix, one more build.” It’s 1 AM. Next Fest is here. I’ve polished my demo a thousand times already… but there’s always something else to improve. THIS IS THE WAY ✊ Good luck to all of us

Hey guys! has anyone here already tried the Overvoid demo? Did it live up to your expectations? I’d really like to hear your thoughts: what you liked, what you didn’t like, what felt missing, and what you’d change or add. This project means a lot to me and every piece of feedback genuinely helps

In the first 4 days the demo got around 700 downloads, but so far only a bit over 50 people actually played it. Average playtime is around 7-10 minutes, and I’ll admit I’ve been a little worried about that.

Because of this, I added an overall progression system, everything you earn in the demo will carry over into the full release!

I know first games rarely become huge successes, and honestly I don’t really care about commercial success as much as I care about the small community that somehow formed around this project.

I’m finishing this game no matter what, even without work and incomes.

Thanks to everyone who supported me 🫶

Fragment from my game that cost me more than a few sleepless nights to create. The Destroyer class ship is a heavily armored cruiser capable of deploying up to 10 fighter units. It is equipped with 5 independent turrets, each with its own unique field of view and targeting angle.

Hi, I’m a solo indie developer creating my dream game (for the third time). Overvoid is a sci-fi roguelite space combat game focused on story, battles, quests, and progression. I’d really appreciate players support, this is my last attempt to create something I truly love.

The demo version of my dark sci-fi space combat game will take part in Steam Next Fest, which will run from June 15 to June 22. I’ve received a lot of feedback and support from players, and I hope I’ll be able to live up to at least half of their expectations.

Last month I received a lot of valuable feedback about my game! After listening to player feedback, I realized people are tired of empty roguelites. Overvoid still has roguelite space combat, but now the focus is on story, quests, physics-based battles, and meaningful choices. Thx to everyone 🫶
