Did LC get rid of the lunch combo?

The 4 slices of deep dish with a drink for 5.99. My kid is obsessed with the crazy puffs. While she's been on summer break id grab the crazy puffs and lunch combo once a week on my way home from work. Skipped the last few weeks. Tried to order my usual this week and the lunch combo is gone from all the locations near me.

Every time I transfer my service im stuck in a customer service hellhole.

The last time I moved, there were two duplicate accounts for the same address charging me. It took a ton of effort, couldn't get it sorted out via chat, and after several phone calls I got it fixed.

I moved again about a month ago. Service was weak at my new home. Chat rep noticed I was paying way too much on my bill. Upgraded my speed to 1 gig at 80 a month for 5 years. Cool. I was paying 120 for half that. Rep noticed my speeds were low. Sent a tech out to investigate. They found a bad coax cable and replaced it. No issues. Paid my 80 dollar bill last month. Thought all was good.

Just checked my bill. 350 dollars owed. 100 install fee, several services like stream store and stream now added, additional charges from my old account that nobody can clear up.

Been talking to another customer service rep. Reversed the installation fee with minimal effort. Now hes trying to sell me on 2 gig upgrade for 100 a month, when the previous rep sold me on 1 gig for 80. Said no to that, now hes trying to sell me on a plan with a smart watch. Its been 15 minutes and they wont let up.

Im so tired of this company having a monopoly in my area.

What a shit show.

Fire in our brand new oven in the home i just bought.

So we moved into this home on Saturday. Previous owner installed brand new appliances while selling the home. Looked like they cleared everything out. One of the appliances was a gas oven. Ive never had a gas oven before. I was not aware that the broiler was on the bottom of the oven. The previous owner left the packing material inside the broiler. I should have checked, and I feel like a massive idiot.

Wife was prepping breakfast for me yesterday morning. Shortly after she turned on the oven I was woken up by all of our smoke alarms going off. Smoke was bellowing out of the oven. Flames from the heating element when the oven was off. We poured water over the Flames but it was still smoldering with thick smoke.

Fire department showed up. Found the packing material in the broiler. Left the ashes and remnants of the material outside. Checked for any damage to the oven and surrounding area. Said the damage was very minimal. They shut off the gas and unplugged it. Said to vacuum and clean out the ashes and then call the manufacturer of the oven to see what they advise.

Called the manufacturer. They didnt seem too concerned. Said I should just clean out the oven with a mix of vinegar and water, let it dry, then do a burnout at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

Fire department....was not very nice to me when they came out. I feel like a massive idiot. Im in the process of cleaning out my oven but im terrified to to turn it on now.

Brand new oven started a fire this morning. Do we need to replace it or can I clean it out?

We moved into our new home on Saturday. What a way to welcome ourselves to the neighborhood by having the fire department here at 7 in the morning.

We have a brand new gas oven that came with the home. Ive never owned a gas oven before. There is a broiler on the bottom of this oven that I thought was just storage like all the others Ive used. Thought we cleaned everything out of the oven, turns out we never took the cardboard out of the broiler.

Fire department came, put out the fire, said it should still be usable, just need to do a deep clean on it. Not even sure where to start but I feel like a massive idiot right now.

We just moved to a new home and cant find one of our cats.

We have two cats. One is 15 and the other is 7. The 15 year old has been with me through 5 different moves. The younger cat is my daughters and this would be his second move. The older cat adjusted to our move pretty quickly.

Our other cat was hiding all day yesterday under my daughter's bed. He finally came out at night and started exploring. I heard him knocking misc boxes and objects around throughout the night.

The last I saw our younger cat was this morning. He came out and slinked around the couch. It has been pouring rain all day. We have been in and out because of the move but I can't think of any time we left the door open long enough for him to get out without us noticing. He is typically a wimp and doesnt do well with water. Its incredibly difficult for me to imagine that he got out under our nose while it was raining.

Ive torn our new home apart looking for him. Checked empty boxes, closets, under the bed, under the box springs, our basement is pretty bare at the moment, he didnt appear to be there. Ive checked behind appliances, under and inside the couch. No sign of him any where. Its almost 10pm and hes usually roaming around by now, but its hard to tell with the move and all.

My daughter is devastated. My wife is convinced he got out while we were in and out of the house and nobody noticed. I cant think if any where else he could be. He didnt eat his usual serving of wet food yesterday and his fresh bowl of wet food is still untouched. My older cat is a bit of a loner but she seems distressed and its hard to tell if its because of the move or because her slap buddy is missing.

Im not too sure what to think or where to look next. I know there isn't much I can do by posting this on Reddit, but im in full panic mode because he has been my teenage daughters cat since she was 9 and its killing me seeing her this upset. Maybe im hoping I overlooked something. How likely am I to find our cat if he got out in a brand new home?

Update:He suddenly appeared at around 4 or 5 in the morning. Hopped on our bed as if he wasnt gone for almost 24 hours and slept next to my wife. I have no idea where he could've been hiding.

60 day notice to vacate at lease end and turning in keys after last payment. (MI)

Hey all. So my current lease is up on July 27th. I bought a house back in May and gave them my 60 day notice to vacate before my lease is up, as they required. We are moving into the home next week.

I completely understand that im on the hook for rent in July. I told them I would prefer to pay my rent for July when its due then turn in my keys. The lady at the leasing office told me i have to turn in my keys on July 27th or else I will be subject to early lease termination fees. They did a pre move out inspection already and stressed that they want a quick turnaround for my unit since its due for renovations. Am I missing something here? They get my rent for the month of July even though im not living in the unit. It seems like it would be easier for everyone if I turn in my keys the same day i pay my final rent payment. I dont have to drive back out here to drop off my keys and they can start renovation earlier than expected.

Edited for clarity on when they want the keys.

Just closed on a home but found it listed again on Zillow as FSBO?

Closed on a home I purchased last Friday. Closing process was pretty straight-forward.

Im guilty of checking homes on Zillow to see what I missed out on. Ended up coming across the home i just bought, but this time its listed as For Sale By Owner, which it wasnt originally a FSBO. It doesnt have a contact name, just a number from Ohio, and I reside in Michigan. The number doesn't match anything I have on file. I called and it went straight to voicemail. The info at the bottom says the home was sold on 5/29 and never relisted.

It lists the address of the home but if you click on the map it takes you to a random shopping mall in the area.

Not sure if I should contact my realtor or someone else. Its not listed on anything else, only Zillow.

Dog sitting this week and ive been so impressed with my dog.

We have a 4 year old black lab. We have had him since he was 10 weeks old. Raising him as a pup was an adventure in discovering that a black lab will, in fact, eat anything that he believes is edible, even if it isnt. Hes loud, very protective of our cats and my wife and daughter. When my wife told me we were going to dog sit her brother's Pitt mix puppy for a week i was very hesitant. My dog is a bit of a derp and will bark at a leaf if it blows by the window. I didnt think he would handle dog sitting very well.

I was wrong.

Hes been acting like a big brother to the pup. Showing her around our home. He lets her approach our cats but will gently push her away with his head if she gets too close. When it was time for them to eat, my dog, who will eat anything, package included, calmly sat back and let her eat first before he chowed down. He was pulling his toys and half eaten "bones" and dropping them next to her. He has a spot on our bed that he wont even let the cats sleep on. Last night he slept on the floor and let his little doggy cousin sleep in his spot. Ive never seen my dog act like this before and Im so proud of him right now for being a good boy. We are even considering getting another dog, which we wouldn't have thought possible before this.

I dont really have a point to this post. Im just so shocked at how well my little Blitz boy has been behaving the last few days that I felt compelled to tell someone.

Closing on my second option when my dream home just listed again.

Back in late March I was in a bidding war on my favorite home that we viewed. Back and forth a few times, the other buyer offered 50k above list price. I was devastated. Most of the newer listings in my area seem to sell within a day of getting listed and are selling way above asking price.

So I settled on a home that was listed for a few weeks. Needs some DIY work, doesnt check all my boxes, but it worked for me and my family.

We are in the process of closing on this home earlier than expected. Apprasial came back 10k over what I offered, which is great.

Then I got a notification this morning about a home being listed. Address looked familiar. It was my dream home, listed for 20k under what they were asking over a month ago.

Ive deleted the app and im trying to convince myself that these things happen for a reason, but damn does this feeling suck.

Trying to be excited for the home im closing on this week.

Im in the process of closing on a 200k home. Im 42 and have rented most of my life. We have a dog and a desire to get more, and apartment or rental home that controls how many animals I can have wasnt doing it for me anymore. We were renting a nice home from 2015 to 2023, until our landlord decided they wanted to occupy the home to eventually sell it. This forced us into an apartment and we have been miserable ever since.

I started looking for homes back in March, with the intent to try and move in before our lease is up in July. 200k unfortunately doesnt give me a lot of buying power in my area. I could go closer to the city but learned during my search that the taxes would have made me house poor.

Ive probably looked at over 50 homes since we started. Ive put in more offers than I care to admit. Im getting outbid on everything, ive had several listings not take in any additional offers the same day theyre listed, before I even have a chance to view them. The whole experience has been demoralizing. We are trying to keep our teenager in the same school district or close enough to use her high school as a school of choice.

We decided to look at homes that have been listed longer than a few days. Eventually found one. It doesnt check all the marks on my list, but it has large privacy fenced yard, a basement, and is 1200 SQFT, perfect size for a family of 3. It doesnt have central air, and it doesnt have a garage. The HVAC is older too. I was tired of looking at homes, tired of the phone calls and texts with my realtor and lender. I put an offer in, and they accepted.

Inspection came back. Home needs a ton of DIY work. Sewer line needs to be cleaned. Inspector noted signs of microbial growth in the attic, bathroom fan was venting to the attic. Roof is fairly new, home is elevated on a slope and the basement walks out to the front yard/driveway with a standard door, which is a little weird and raised minor security concerns. But I was OK with it.

My parents are gifting me 20k towards the home. Naturally they wanted to look over the inspection report. My father has owned the same home since 1993. They have a very nice colonial in a nice suburb that is now worth almost 700k. My father did not like the inspection report. He keeps telling me I made a mistake. He thinks there is black mold in the attic. He thinks there is foundation damage, even though the inspector didnt find any. He keeps shaming me over my choice of a home. Hes sending me listings for condos that im clearly not interested in, telling me it would be a safer bet than this home.

I was trying to be excited about buying my first home after the demoralizing process of searching for a home within my budget. I cant help but feel like ive made a huge mistake that im going to regret. Im getting too old to keep moving, this was intended to be my forever home.

Should also mention seller is offering 3k concessions towards some of the maintenance work.
