HUGE HOT TAKE AS A QUEEN FAN: Bicycle Race is the most shittiest song Queen has EVER made.

Thats right, I said it. I know how many people LOVE bicycle race, but I just can’t see why. Honestly, it feels like they were running out of ideas, and as much as I love how it links in the song Fat Bottomed Girls, other than that I genuinely cant find ANYTHING I like about it. (THIS IS MY OPINION BTW NO HATE TO ALL THE BICYCLE RACE FANS)

Deafness is overlooked in schools.

I am partially deaf, diagnosed, and currently on the waiting list for a hearing aid. But when I tell people in my highschool, I get met with snark remarks, “jokes” and weird questions. “Well you aren’t ACTUALLY deaf are you?” “Can you hear me? CAN YOU HEAR ME?” “So how come you can speak?” And that’s just the students. The head of year has told all my teachers about my condition, yet most forget. Most get angry at me when I don’t hear what they say and can’t answer them, claiming that I’m “ignoring them” or “not listening”: they sit me at the back of the class and I can’t hear â thing. It’s torture. I get no help, no sympathy, and I’m overlooked. People talk over me because of my deafness, as if I’m not there or I can’t hear them. I’m still here. I’m just not as abled as many are.

Edit: I appreciate people asking me to try to learn sign language, but unfortunately I can’t. There - in my opinion - is no point to learning to for a school that won’t even sit me at the front row. An interpreter costs ALOT of money, and I feel I have no need to learn BSL because I’m not fully deaf, but mostly in my right ear and partially in my left. BSL takes a while to learn, and I can lip read so I usually do that! I have also told my parents and they keep ringing school, and still they do nothing. I’m gunna have a FIELD TRIP when oftsed comes !

TIFU: I Accidentally Forgot To Put My Phone On Silent.

In my secondary school, we had a policy : phones must be not seen, heard, or felt. So if you have a phone out? Taken and detention. Phone buzzes? Taken and detention. Teacher leans over and feels phone in your pocket? Taken and detention. I once forgot to put my phone on silent mode, and I had this huge salad fingers phase. Unfortunately we were in a very serious history lesson about the trans-Atlantic slave trade (Google for more info about that if you want, but it is extremely upsetting.) and my phone goes off. Now I’d like to mention, my ring tone is the salad fingers first few lines of the first ever episode, spoons. Its the iconic music and lines: “hello, I like rusty spoons, the feeling of rust against my salad fingers is almost orgasmic”. And that played. In the middle of that very lesson. Everyone started to laugh obviously and I tried to turn it off but my phone was tweaking, and it’s not easy trying to hang up a wrong number when I’m not even allowed to take my phone out to silence it. I got isolation for it. TL;DR: my phones ringtone was Salad Fingers’ first lines, and It rung during history class on slavery. All you could hear was “I like rusty spoons”

Which Books Would You Like To Know More About?

Before you ask - the names change a lot on the bottom of the books because these are starter covers, and I’m trying to find how I like to use my Pen name :)

Hot take: Beneficial AI isn’t that bad.. (KEY WORD BENEFICIAL!)

Now I’m talking about AI that actually does things - AI that can detect tumours, AI that diagnoses illnesses, AI that helps people with mental health issues as therapy chat bots. I ain’t talking about that stupid AI fruit love island or that Sora AI. When people criticise AI, they usually forget all the helpful things it’s done. There’s an AI that can now detect a tumour in under 2 minutes, saving a persons life, where if only humans did it, they could be dead within the 2 months it takes. It helps educate children (if the AI is reliable, not like chatGPT) it helps those who can’t afford therapy, and it’s a revolutionary tool for humanity - I agree we should find a greener way to keep it, but all those wanting to completely eliminate AI are most likely uneducated on the cons AND pros AI brings.

EDIT: I MADE THIS POST OUT OF SPITE TO ALL ANTI AI’S - I’m talking those who believe ALL AI is bad full stop. “But what about the polar bears!” But what about those hundreds of thousands who die of cancer in â matter of months due to human error and time, but could be diagnosed and treated faster using AI?
