Wat is de beste reparatie die je bij een Repair Café of lokale reparateur hebt laten doen?

Ik vind het een mooi idee om spullen lokaal te laten repareren in plaats van ze meteen weg te gooien en te vervangen. Soms blijkt iets dat je eigenlijk al had afgeschreven toch nog prima te repareren.

Wat is de beste reparatie die je bij jou in de buurt hebt laten doen? En was dat uiteindelijk goedkoper dan het product vervangen?

What's something you enjoy that most people around you don't?

I think almost everyone has at least one thing they genuinely enjoy but rarely get to talk about because nobody around them is really interested in it. Maybe your friends don't understand why you like it, or you're usually the only one in your family who's into it.

For me, I actually enjoy spending time organising things and making lists. I know that probably sounds boring to a lot of people, but I find it oddly satisfying.

What's yours? It could be a hobby, food, activity, TV show, music genre, or something completely random.

Waarvan dacht je dat het goedkoper was, totdat je het echt ging uitrekenen?

Soms lijkt iets op het eerste gezicht een goede manier om geld te besparen, maar als je alle kosten meerekent blijkt dat toch anders te zijn.

Heb je ooit zo'n ontdekking gedaan waarbij je achteraf dacht: dit is helemaal niet zo voordelig als ik dacht?

What game is this according to you?

For me, Doom Eternal is one of those games that absolutely nails the gameplay. The combat is fast, satisfying, and never really lets you switch off. Add the atmosphere, visuals and overall presentation, and it just feels like a really polished experience.

What's your favourite part of Delft to simply walk around?

Not necessarily somewhere you go for a specific reason, just a street, neighbourhood or route you enjoy walking through. Sometimes the most ordinary parts of a city are the nicest.

What Dutch phrase do you wish you had learned sooner?

There are some phrases you learn from textbooks, and then there are the ones you only pick up after spending time around Dutch speakers. The second category is often much more useful in everyday life.

I remember hearing certain expressions repeatedly before finally asking what they meant. Which phrase had you completely confused until you eventually figured it out?

If you could choose anywhere in Delft, where would you live?

Delft may not be a huge city, but each neighbourhood has its own character and atmosphere. Some areas are close to the historic centre and all the cafés and shops, while others are quieter and more residential.

If you could choose any neighbourhood in Delft to live in, which one would you pick? What makes that area stand out to you - the location, atmosphere, green spaces, transport, or simply the feeling of the neighbourhood?

Have Parkside tools changed your opinion of budget brands?

Budget tools often get a mixed reputation, but Parkside seems to have changed a lot of people's expectations.

If you've used their tools for a while, has your opinion of budget brands changed? Or do you still think there's a clear gap compared with the more expensive brands?

I'd be interested to hear what changed your mind - or what didn't.

What's becoming less "typically Dutch" than it used to be?

Cultures naturally evolve over time, and the Netherlands is no exception.

Is there a habit, tradition, or part of everyday Dutch life that you feel isn't as common as it used to be? It could be something cultural, social, food-related, or just a way people used to interact.

What's changed the most in your opinion, and do you think it's a good thing or something worth preserving?

Which Dutch word did you completely misunderstand the first time you saw it?

One of the things I enjoy about learning Dutch is coming across words that look familiar to English but end up meaning something completely different. Sometimes I confidently guess the meaning, only to find out I was way off.

It could be a false friend, a compound word that didn't mean what you expected, or just a word that sounded obvious until you learned its actual meaning.

Which Dutch word caught you off guard the first time you saw or heard it? What did you think it meant, and what does it actually mean?

Should checking your rental's points score be standard before signing a lease?

It feels like a lot of tenants only discover the points system after they've already signed their contract and moved in. By then, some find out they may have been paying more rent than they legally should.

Do you think checking the points score should be a standard part of renting, just like reading the lease agreement?

If you've ever checked yours, did the result match what you were paying, or was it a surprise?
