movable drawing

How do I make a drawing on the map and then move the drawing? I just need to to move some thing on the map.

I tried making png images an uploading them as a mount, can't get hem to be close to the right size. I drew them on my pc and outlined the lines on my map but they are like 1/4 size when uploaded.

Then I tried drawing on owlbear rodeo but I cant move what I draw.

what do you call a type 1a super nova when it forms around a neutron star?

what do you call a type 1a super nova when it forms around a neutron star? I look thought the wikipedia, and did find an answer. I did not understand everything there and I didn't see anything to answer my question.

Follow up question. Since these would form in binary starts could some of the type 1a we have used to measure distances, could our measurements be off if some of those were neutron star and not white dwarfs?

using daggerheart for something other then fantasy

What completely non fantasy setting have you used dh for? Super heroes in the modern day, WW! pulp action, sci fi. the basic of characters, and the duality dice are great for different genre and settings, but you have so many abilities that would be hard to change.

If I was going to do something like traveler, a sci if setting with little super human abilities, it would be hard to do most of the powers. But Star wars I could had wave more of them as the force.

What they didn't test

What's ayth that you would have really like to see myth busters test that they never did?

Personally I would have loved to see stop drop and roll. Hook buster to an axel a few hundred feet of spooled rope. Dose in gasoline and see what happens. Up size again again ro see how big of fire you handle and by the end buster ir roll at 100 mph into a pile of burng thermite.

Quick question about the blue Beetle in live action

If we ever got another love action df would you prefer a vw bug from say 90s or 2000s, looks the part but doesn't march the lore. Or a 50 era car that's not a vw bug. It the chips thar Harry's magic would break but it's not same model. It would still be made of mismatched parts and always breaking down.

I ask because I read the tv show couldn't attach the camera rig to a period current vw and went with an old but larger car.

running Legend of the 5 rings with year zero engine

I am going to run a legend of the 5 rings game for some friends using the yer zero engine. We are just moving our current character over to year zero rather then make now ones.

My current question is what the best system for pushing? I can't decide between Doom points and stress dice.

Playing non pilots

I just finished a traveler campaign and ome of the players mentioned wanting to play lancer again. Now I know lancer is about the big stompy robots. But what if I wanted to run a game about union operatives.

What have you all done for that?

I could see modified mongoose traveler working. I could also make a sci fi gurps, but you can make a grups for anything.

Ising uesr zero engine for the ttrpg

I have been thinking about how to use the year zero engine for l5r.

Why, well i really want to use it and i also really think it will fit. If you don't know its a dy dice pool with a press your luck system. Your first roll you only count 6s. If that's not enough then you can reroll your non 6 dice. But now 1s are a penality. The game can use these right then or save up for latter. I really like this idea of press your luck and the raises from the original system.

Other then I think just one raise means you need 1 more 6 and divide the tn by 10 to to get the new tn will work out.

Anyone have any experience doing something like this. Any experience with the year zero engine?

How do illusions spells work

In my last session the question cane up when i cast the spell hullinatory terrain. Now yes that is d&d spell but the question does apply to any ttrpg.

I have long notice that illusion spells are a real sticking point and that part of just how they are written. What exactly is a minor effect? Would a warlock sharing senses with a bat hear the echo of a silent image? Etc etc.

I made the point what's the difference between magical darkness and the illusion of magical darkness. The illusion is made of magic so I, a warlock with devil sight, should see through it. One other said he hated how dg3 did illusion magic because most spells are treat like holographic projections.

We came up with 3 way that illusions work. 1 holographic projections, 2 a program in someone's mind, 3 cast on reality it's self.

That 3rd one is weird but it does why that player often makes illusions op af. My view is this. If someone walks into the room after the spell is cast and has to deal with it then it is a projection. If they don't then it is a program in someone's mind.

Now i know some games make this clearer. Has open as the magic in mage the awakening was it was clear mind magic is internal to someone's mind. In Storm light archives illusions are all protections.

I personally think games should make very how illusions work, and if they did it would clear up what they can and cannot do.

How do you all run illusions? How common is this problem with illusion magic at your table? What games make it clear how illusion work?

Replaying ff9

Replaying ff9 on the switch. I played the original game on ps1 and was on the start of disc 4. Then i moved and lost my copy in the move so i never actually finished the game as a kid.

I loved it as a kid and slowly learned every skill when i could. It nice to have a cheat that cuts that grind out. I do love the updated look. The other cheats are nice at times. Auto trance just to see what everyone looks like. Did anyone else not notice Zidane's furry look on the ps1?

Loving the story just like my first time.

Ran smooth. The systems is light and fast when you run it. Coming from something like Dagger heart it was not not having so many kinds of points to work with. I did roll for shit the whole session. My best roll was the easiest one, program a j1 jump.

I have been in a few groups that got into D&D because of critical role, and in my short lived dh group we had some player that wanted to try dh because of critical role. I have also seen several posts on here about people either stating or implying this is there first non D&D ttrpg.

So lets get some questions about dh as a bridge game.

Have you been able to get player move from only playing D&D to play DH, or are most of your player already familiar with other ttrpg?

What are the biggest stumbling blocks at teaching D&D how to play dh, that is not the spotlight initiative system? II already know that is a problem spot.

Have you gotten the former D&D only players to move on to other systems besides dh? Which ones did you try?

Has DH gotten you into other ttrpgs?
