BRN-4 & FRT

Recently picked up a BRN-4 10.4 upper and shot it with an ARC Fire recently. Previous owner drilled gas port to 1.9mm and with the Griffin HRT5K, H3 buffer and carbine spring , ROF seems pretty high (I got 950 using an online calculator, maybe u/Next-Conversation234 can help me with that).

I’m thinking of picking up a new chrome lined 10.4 barrel from Brownells, but I’ve heard the factory gas port is pretty small. Can someone recommend what I need to drill to run the FRT successfully with a low backpressure can to get to around the 750-800 RPM mark?

URX4 8.5 and Pistol Length Gas

Can anyone tell me if both gas block set screws are accessible through an MLOK slot on an 8.5 URX 4 and a pistol length gas system? I understand there are work arounds, just trying to weigh my options.

Barrel for SR-30-ish clone

Have a line on a 8.5 URX 4, and thinking about putting together an SR-30-ish build. Any recommendations on a 9-9.5" barrel? I like the idea of 1/5 twist, and would mostly be shooting subs, but kind of sketched out about jacket separation/early expansion, especially if I decide to shoot supers. Help me stop overthinking.

Working at Textron/Living in the area

Applied for a management job at Textron recently and have an interview coming up. Any advice or reviews from working there? Just saw that Textron may be splitting and selling off the Industrial portion of the business.

Also, if everything works out, I'd be moving from another part of SC and would probably try to stay in the North Augusta area, so recommendations on that front are appreciated also.

Upper/Lower/Handguard Set

Ordered a camo cerakote job with the recent Modern Warriors sale, and I'm looking for a boujee receiver set and handguard to have painted and start a build with. Any suggestions? Something like the SOLGW Broadsword/MK1 where everything matches nice. Probably going to go with an 11.5 or 12.5 barrel.

Have used either oil or balm in the past. Started putting on oil and combing, then balm and brushing and like the results. I've been using random stuff I've gotten as stocking stuffers over the years, but am starting to run out. What's the best oil and balm combo you've used that won't break the bank?
