What did you do in your first month of trying to lose weight?

I’m asking because I feel like I’ve been trying to lose weight for about five years now. I feel like I’m constantly starting over, trying to change my habits, but I’m not seeing any real or lasting results.

For those of you who have successfully lost weight, what did you do during your first month?

- What habits did you start?

- What things did you change?

- What worked really well for you?

- What didn’t work?

- Was there anything you wish you had done differently when you first started?

I’m especially interested in hearing about the small changes you made during that first month that eventually helped you stay consistent and actually make progress.

Are these worth that price?

Pass though seeing these things many times down the aisles, but pass on them due that high price tag. To those who tried these are they worth the price?

I brought three PS3's for $15 at a yard sale

I scored these 3 PS3s at a yard sale for $15 total. Left PS3 Slim (melted top): It powered on, but it wouldn't read PS3 games. It would read DVDs and Blu-rays just fine. This was my first time taking apart a console, so I disassembled most of it, removed the disc drive, took that apart, cleaned the Blu-ray laser lens, put everything back together, and now it's reading PS3 games perfectly again. Currently playing Splinter Cell Blacklist for the first time on to test it more.

Middle Super Slim: It gets power (red light comes on), but when I press the power button it turns on for about a second and then immediately shuts back off. Any ideas what the issue could be?

Right PS3 Slim: It powers on, but I'm not getting any HDMI output. I'm hoping it's something fixable.

None of them came with power cables, HDMI cables, or controllers, so I've had to supply those myself for testing.

I've been reselling on eBay for the past few months, mostly selling random things from around my house. My goal is to start focusing more on video game-related items like consoles, games, and accessories, so finding these PS3s was a huge score for me. Even if I have to put a little money into cables, controllers, or replacement parts, I think this was an incredible deal and a great pickup for my eBay store.

For anyone who's repaired PS3s before, what would you check first on the Super Slim that instantly powers off and the Slim with no HDMI output?

My newest addition to my collection

Got this bad boy today at a local pawn shop for $21.20. This was one of the games I wanted in my collection the most. Never finished the first or the second one and never played the 3rd one.

My Playstation Collection

This year I’ve been actively expanding my PlayStation collection, especially focusing on PS3 games I never got around to playing before. I’ve been hunting through pawn shops, retro game stores, and also revisiting games I’ve owned for years since my original PS3 slim. With Sony recently pushing forward with a fully digital future and the direction the industry is heading in, I’ve started to shift my focus even more toward buying physical games. Because of that, I don’t see myself continuing with new console generations in the long run, especially if future hardware ends up significantly more expensive while offering less access to older games and physical ownership. Here are some of the games I have recently brought for each console.

For PS3 games I picked up Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist, Mirror’s Edge, Red Faction: Armageddon, Devil May Cry 4, LittleBigPlanet 2, Prototype 2, and Heavenly Sword.

For PS4, I picked up No Straight Roads, Titanfall 2, Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, and The Last of Us Remastered.

For PS5, I picked up Lost Soul Aside

All of the games listed are completely new experiences for me, which makes collecting them even more enjoyable.

Going forward, I plan to keep collecting physical PS3, PS4, and PS5 games for years to come. Honestly, I feel like I can do this for the next ten years while the next generation of consoles are established and I feel like I would be missing much.

As someone who is interested in a flip phone. Flip phone users, what is your experience?

I currently using a Samsung S22 as my current phone and I plan on trading for a new one through my carrier T-Mobile. The phones that i have intrest in are the Motorola razr 2026, razr+ 2025 or the galaxy flip 7. However I have a few questions.

  1. What is the usual length of time a flip phone last in terms of years of use before I have to trade it in? I usually like to keep a phone for at least five years.

  2. How are the cameras? I do reselling as a side hustle and I want to have a phone has good camera quality. Does not have to be the best.

  3. How is the durability of these phone? I usually don't drop my phone, but on the rare occasions I do, what are the chances of it breaking from falling out of my pocket on the street?

  4. Overall experience compared to a regular smartphone?

Anxiety about my foot care

I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes about two and a half weeks ago. Since then, I've had a nurse coming to my house once a week to teach me about diabetes and how to manage it. One of the biggest topics she's covered is foot care. I know she wasn't trying to scare me, but ever since learning about diabetic foot complications, I've developed a lot of anxiety about my feet. I understand why foot care is important, but now I find myself worrying that if I make one mistake or miss something, I'll end up losing a foot or a leg. Since my diagnosis, I've been checking my feet every day. I wash them daily, lotion them, and inspect them carefully. But despite doing what I'm supposed to do, the anxiety is still there. For example, the other day I accidentally dropped an apple on my foot. It wasn't a heavy object, but I immediately took off my shoe and sock to inspect my foot because I was worried I had injured it. Looking back, it probably wasn't a big deal, but my mind keeps jumping to worst-case scenarios. It feels like any little thing that happens to my feet could turn into something serious, and that's causing a lot of stress. For those of you who have Type 2 diabetes, especially those who have had it for years, how did you get over the fear and anxiety surrounding foot care and the possibility of complications? How do you stay vigilant without becoming overly worried about every little thing?

I want to create my own comic, but I don't have anyone to help me. How do I proceed?

I've had ideas for comic books since middle school. Back then, I even made a few small comics of my own. Over the years, I've constantly reworked the stories, redesigned characters, and created character art that I've uploaded to my DeviantArt page. The problem is that I've never really been able to turn any of those ideas into an actual comic. While I enjoy drawing, I don't currently have the skills to create the kind of dynamic artwork that comics require. I've also done some writing for my stories, but I don't consider myself a strong writer. Hiring a professional writer or artist isn't really an option either because I don't have the money for it. Another challenge is that I'm naturally shy and don't have great social skills, which makes it difficult for me to ask people for help or collaborate with others in the first place. Right now, I'm revisiting one of my comic ideas called Revbots.

Brief summary:

In the world of Revbots, Revtech stands at the forefront of technological innovation. Its products range from everyday smart appliances to highly advanced robotics. The company's most popular creations are its combat robots, which are used in the RCL (Revbot Combat League), a high-stakes sport where skilled pilots and their bots battle for fame, glory, and championship titles.

How would you recommend someone in my situation go about turning an idea like this into an actual comic? Should I focus on improving my writing first, my art skills, finding collaborators, or something else entirely?

Newly Type 2 diabetic any advice and how do I stop feeling sorry for myself

At the beginning of May, I started noticing my mouth was extremely dry and it felt like I wasn’t producing much saliva. At first, I assumed I was just dehydrated, so I increased my water intake a lot.

Not long after that, I started urinating much more frequently, especially at night. That’s when my mom and I decided to go to urgent care to get checked out.

At urgent care, they found that my blood sugar levels were very high and told me to go to the hospital immediately. After further testing over the next few days, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

Looking back at my eating habits over the past few months, I guess it shouldn’t be that surprising, but it still really hit me hard. I’ve been trying to lose weight for a few years now and have struggled with consistency, and it feels like my failed diet finally caught up with me.

I’m having a hard time with the emotional side of this because I feel like I should’ve recognized the signs earlier and prevented it.

Since getting out of the hospital, I have to take 20 units of insulin 3 times a day andcheck my blood sugar 4 times a day. The biggest challenge is the food aspect. I definitely know the foods that I should not have any more, but it's going a be a bit difficult to replace the foods I'm used to eating.

For anyone who’s been dealing with type 2 diabetes longer than I have: what advice would you give someone just starting out?
