My first HDPE could be at Funderhill in Norcal next month where the afternoon high will likely be 90-100F.
For the sake of my tires and car would it be worth it to wait until a Laguna event in October or Thunderhill in Nov? Both would be more like 60-75F
Today I added a bottle of Techron fuel cleaner to my gas tank while filling up and within a minute the vehicle gave a cyl 5 misfire code with engine roughness. I cleared the error memory and it did it two more times upon hard acceleration, all with Cylinder 5.
Should I have the gas tank pumped out? The coincidence seems too crazy to ignore. 2011 328xi E90 with 102k miles. The spark plugs were changed at ~70k
The engine runs ok when driven gently but this roughness and Cyl 5 misfire reliably reproduces upon half throttle

I'm looking to do 1 or 2 HPDE days soon with an instructor for fun, probably at Thunderhill in Norcal.
I would use a 2011 E90 328xi automatic, which is not my daily driver. I have some generic Les Schwab all season tires on it that have like 4-5 mm tread on them.
I was planning on buying some UHP all seasons like a DWS 06 or similar but I was wondering if having brand new, full tread tires would be kind of wasteful or even a bad idea relative to all seasons with less tread.
Track is not the focus of this car so I don't think I would consider like 200 TW tires at this point, if ever.
Any input about tire choice would be helpful. Thank you!
I will have fresh brake pads and DOT 4 fluid for any HPDE days
Hello, I have a 2011 328xi N51 with unfortunately the GM trans. Since it already has the 3SIM, I was looking around for tunes.
I realize that the power gains are modest, but I think it would be worth it for me to have better throttle response and mid-range power.
Has anyone tuned a N51? Was it to your liking?
I'm not doing any bolt ons since I live in CA and need to flash back to stock for emissions

I keep reading conflicting info about how much these old sunder charms are worth? I have 1 Ber and Jah but is that too much to offer for these?
