Personally, I'm a Donna-girlie. Nothing beats the OG.
Following up on her promise and to honor his uncle Trevor Barnes, Diana took Bobby with her to Themyscira for the festival of the goddesses, making him one of the very few males who'd been allowed to set foot on the island. Keenly aware just how big of a deal this was, Bobby was eager to prove himself worthy of this gift but was unsure how he might do that.
During the festival, he spotted an elderly woman sitting apart from everyone. Being naturally kind, Bobby approached her to talk, thinking she might be lonely. The woman introduced herself as Doso. After some pleasant conversation, Bobby confessed his insecurities over his worthiness of the role as Wonder Boy, as after the untimely death of his uncle Trev he felt resentful towards the very gods that were so important to Diana and doubted he had what it took to carry such a legacy. Doso listened with great interest, showing understanding for his plight. She then mentioned that a baby Kanga she'd grown fond of had wandered into one of Themyscira's more dangerous caves. Due to her advanced age she was unable to rescue the small thing herself and she didn't want to approach the other Amazons due to not wanting to impose. Bobby immediately offered to retrieve the Kanga.
Following Doso's directions, Bobby found both the cave and the baby Kanga, only for both of them to be attacked and prevented from leaving the cave by a giant boar. Using subterfuge and some tricks Diana had taught him, Bobby managed to incapacitate the boar without hurting it and left the cave with the baby Kanga. To his surprise, he found Doso waiting for him outside. She revealed herself to be the goddess Demeter, one of Themyscira's patronesses, and the whole ordeal to have been a test. Finding Bobby worthy, she used her power as a goddess to imbue him with divine power and gifted him tools forged by the gods.
Returning to the Amazons, Bobby told Diana what had happened and became her partner in crime fighting.
Due to Demeter's blessing, Bobby possesses super-human strength, agility, speed and durability. Because of his patron goddesses close ties to nature, he can also speak to and understand animals and has mild healing powers.
The Bracelets of Submission: A gift from Bobby's mentor Diana. The bracelets are indestructible and can be used to deflect projectiles.
The Lasso of Revelation: Created by the goddess Aletheia, the Lasso compels everyone bound by it to show their truest self, even if that self might be unknown to them. It can be used to dispel disguises and figure out the captive's true intentions, feelings and thoughts.
The Chariot of Demeter: Re-created into a hoverboard from its original form to better suit its new owner, the Chariot is capable of flight at high speed and nigh indestructible. It cannot be ridden by anyone but Bobby and will always return to him at his command.
I think he could've worked. The Lasso of Lies is a very cool concept, but as with so many things, King's writing completely fumbled it.
EDIT: Whoops, forgot the credits. The image is from Wonder Woman #1, artist is Daniele Sampere.
It's just such a bland and boring ship overall. Pomni's relationships with Ragatha and Gummigoo were so much more interesting.

If one of Wonder Woman's core themes is truth, giving her a villain all about lies and deception could work. But King seemingly abandoned that with Lyssa (The Matriarch), because lies barely factor into her story.
This page from Wonder Woman #28 heavily implies that the "villains" the Matriarch is killing in front of a crowd are actually poor schmucks dressed up in costumes. "Angle Man" clearly has no idea where he is, he explicitly states he was forced to wear the costume and he doesn't once try to use his Angler to defend himself, even when Matriarch stalks towards him with clear intent to kill.
Of course that turns out not to be the case, apparently the Matriarch truly is just that OP. But how interesting would it have been If they carried on with that theme?
You already have some of the groundwork. Her father was all about controlling the world through lies. But his were based in subterfuge and manipulating things from the shadows.
The Matriarch's thing should have been overt propaganda and Cult of Personality. Making people believe she's superior to Wonder Woman by holding these big events were she publically and, it seems, effortlessly dispatches of villains.
But when we get a look behind the scenes, it's all revealed to be smoke and mirrors. The villains are either costumed civilians, like Angle Man here, or were artificially weakened prior to the match. Matriarch gaining fame and supporters through a facade, in contrast to Diana who earned both through actual effort.
I mean, she's not wrong.

Jax *was* responsible for Ribbit abstracting. The show never pretends otherwise. That's why Jax has such a massive chip on her shoulder about it. She knows it's her fault and she doesn't want to deal with that guilt.
The only difference is that real Pomni at least had the guts to physically fight back once Jax started to abuse her.
Can we also talk about the fact that Jax apparently fantasizes about violently choking the only person in the Circus who likes her?
Complex trans character? Zooble is literally non-binary and gnc. Their entire arc centers around conquering their body dysmorphia and learning to accept themselves.
Jerk with a Heart of Gold? Zooble is often sour and abrasive, but they do genuinely care about the other Circus members. Even Jax, who's been nothing but an asshole to them.
Relationship to Gangle? Zooble is nothing but nice and supportive to Gangle and actively protects her from Jax several times. Jax herself knows that Zooble is closer to Gangle then she'll ever be, if her Imagine Spot about Zooble in the finale is any indication.
Notice how Zooble has a ton of issues, but never makes that everyone else's problem or uses that as an excuse to be an asshole?

No, jax wasn't a good person, nor even an adequate person, and he certainly never accomplished anything.
Nicky and Joe (The Old Guard): They're both part of a group of immortal mercenaries. When they first met, they were enemies on different sides of the Crusades. They fell in love after killing the other in battle multiple times. By the movie's present, they've been kicking ass together for about a thousand years.
Spinerella and Netossa (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power): A married couple and veterans of the war against the Horde. Despite bickering at times, they truly do complete each other. Netossa even refers to Spinerella as the only weakness she has.
Cyclops/Scott Summers and Marvel Girl/Jean Grey (X-Men): Two mutants fighting side by side to protect a humanity that hates and fears their kind. Despite a lot, and I mean a lot, of bullshit happening to them over the years, these two will always find each other and demonstrate why they're known as the power-couple of the X-Men.
Trope in which a character who is possessed/mind controlled/otherwise not themselves does or says something to show their true self isn't gone.
Victoria Cindry (One Piece): Cindry was a famous performer who tragically died young. Doctor Hogback, a brilliant scientist who was obsessed with Cindry, brought her back to life as a zombie with the shadow of an entirely different woman serving as her "soul". In her zombified state, Cindry is completely under Hogback's control. The most she can do to resist is malicious compliance, where she follows his orders badly on purpose. She still has to obey him at the end of the day. However, when through a string of events the castle they reside in collapses, Cindry doesn't move when a trapped Hogback orders her to help him. Instead, she turns to the heroes and smiles, much like she used to do in her old posters and pictures, before she's crushed by rubble and destroyed in the process.
Nikki (Obsession): Protagonist Bear makes a wish on a magical item for his crush, Nikki, to love him "more than anyone else in the fucking world." As a result, Nikki falls madly in love with him and starts behaving more and more creepy and unhinged. >!One night, Nikki suddenly starts speaking to Bear in her sleep, begging him to kill her and revealing that the wish caused her to be possessed by an entity pretending to be her whose only purpose is to love Bear. The real Nikki is still in there, completely supressed by the new personality and suffering.!<
Suguru Geto (Jujutsu Kaizen): >!The Geto we see in the show's present is actually just a corpse, puppeteered by the brain of an evil jujutsu sorcerer named Kenjaku. There's nothing of the original Geto left - or so it seems. When Kenjaku seals away Gojo, who Geto used to be incredibly close with, and Gojo speaks to Geto -not Kenjaku, Geto - Geto's arm suddenly starts to choke it's own body with no Input from Kenjaku. There was some of the original Geto left in the body after all, enough that he was briefly able to gain control and try to protect his friend.!<
They're bit bland to me, but the masks are pretty cool. I especially love how Smoke's is designed to look like a gas mask.
With so many characters you could easily fill the DPS/tank/support categories.
Plus, it could do what Rivals did and bring attention and spotlight to characters who desperately need it, like Jazz, Chromia, Blurr, the Constructicons, you name them.
What do you guys think?
In order of appearance, and which role I think they'd be best suited for:
Sandman (Vanguard)
Photon (Duelist)
Vision (Strategist)
Miss Marvel (Duelist)
Falcon (Duelist)
She-Hulk (Vanguard)
Dormammu (Strategist)
Mystique (Duelist)
Scream (Vanguard)
Nick Fury (Duelist)
They're both galaxy-spanning, technologically advanced empires with an army of super-strong and super-durable soldiers. I think it'd be a pretty even conflict.
Note: I am specifically talking about the Viltrum Empire under Thragg and the Great Diamond Authority pre Pink Diamond's death.
Though I also welcome discussions about them in different eras.
Please write why/why not in the comments.
Personally, I like her being solely Hyppolita's daughter. It fits with her feminist themes.
The Gems (Steven Universe): The Gems are, as the name suggests, sentient gemstones who assume humanoid forms by projecting a hard light body from the stones that hold their consciousness. Almost every gem we meet identities as female and uses she/her pronouns. Arguably the only gem identifying as a guy is Steven, the protagonist who is a hybrid with a gem mother and a human father. This is shown as unusual, as other Gems immediately default to using she/her for Steven once they discover he's one of them and seem confused by him identifying as a boy, something that just doesn't exist in gem society.
The Asari (Mass Effect): Asari are a mono-gendered race of humanoid, feminine-looking aliens who go exclusively by she/her and use only female language like "Matriarch" and "Maiden" to refer to the different maturing stages of their lives. There are no Asari males, though Asari are still able to reproduce with each other and Asari parents still use the term "father" for the one who provides the genetic material and "mother" for the one who gives birth.
Please write in the comments why she should/shouldn't.
