No junkyards around here had it and I can't find anyone selling it on marketplace or similar in Norway. Prices on eBay are brutal with shipping and import tax. I'd be paying more than what I gave for the whole engine.
I have an Alpicool C30 portable refrigerator and it's been great for 3 years now having movied it between vehicles and traveled a lot with it. However, I've alsways traveled with a simple camping setup in my station wagon and previously a hatchback. Because of space constraints, this style cooler was essentially my only option. even 30L being a bit large. Now I am building out a full campervan from a VW T4 and started looking at conventional style refrigerators. A buddy has a Sunwind Nova 50L in his RV and averages a lower power consumption as well as more stable temperatures than me. I can get the same fridge for $500 and I am wondering if it's worth the upgrade now that I have space for it. I have a small solar setup of 100AH battery and 220w panel, so any efficiency gain is very much welcome. I like it stealthy and light so I'd prefer efficiency over capacity as long as it's not too costly.
I am looking to hear other peoples opinion on this. Which one are you using and why?
The visual shape and appearance, not this specific bike. We've always called them indonesia bikes, because a lot of the cheap bikes in third world countries look like this. But we never knew what they were actually called. I really like this flat top and bottom design if modernized a bit. The 2nd picture is a bike I modified
No idea what it is really, maybe an Atlas. If it works, it works.
I know most of you don't care too much for fuel efficiency, but I love that this 35 year old bike gets 70 miles to the gallon, 3.4L/100km
Got these swivel bases for the T4 van, but my head literally touches the roof when I am driving. Also there is no legroom below the steeringwheel. Is there anyone else here using these? did you lower the seats?
There has only been 2 of these for sale publicly in my country for the past 2 years. This was the first reasonably priced one. Starts and runs well, but has been unregistered for the past 20 years and the seller never succeeded to get ahold of the last registered owner to get the paperwork for it. I am determined to get it plated and road legal!
All I hear is range, while nobody talks about fuel efficiency, and fuel cost as a result. Does it not matter to most adv riders? I guess reliability beats cost when you're in the middle of nowhere with everything depending on the bike getting you to the destination. Still, fuel efficiency is a very important factor when I am shopping for bikes to ride long distances.

I currently have a 2005 EXC 400 and it's plenty fun, but I plan on selling it for an upgrade. Complaints I have about it:
- Curburated, doesn't always run perfect, have to deal with manual choke and hot start button, sometimes being hard to start and its very jerky transition on/off throttle.
- Highway vibrations. It's fine, I got the bike for fun and thrill, not cruising, but I often commute 30min each way to work and have heard certain bikes are much smoother like 2019+ 690smc and some FE350s due to their balancer shaft design. That would be a great bonus.
- Unreliable. Mine has been extraordinarily unreliable having more hours working on it than riding it (seriously, I'm not exaggerating). from stator breaking off of the cover grinding the flywheel, to oil leaks, random loss of spark, screws rattling loose, water pump failure, electrical gremlins (mangled harness) and decompression mechanism faults. This as a result of previous owners abuse and neglect. Pretty much everything I've repaired on it made me suprised it even worked for the previous owner. It's left me stranded 5 times in just the one and a half season of riding it.
I've tried a friends 2017 husky 701 and 2016 KTM 690. I think they are very fun and smooth bikes, but I prefer the lighter enduro / sumo conversion.
I also ride a Yamaha XT350 and it's butter smooth in comparison to the EXC, but I use it for offroading in the forest, camping or riding trails and I don't want to have to switch between offroad and onroad tires all the time. So I want a bike for street fun and a bit of commuting. Budget is flexible, those I've looked at so far are around $3-7k. I paid $2500 for the EXC.
I had a 15-inch penta as a spare wheel and finally a set of 3 showed up for $100. They were the same brand, same size, same offset, but slightly different look. See if you can notice it, as the picture of the red primer is on the spare rim I had, while the rest are of the 3 I just picked up. I don't mind it too much, as a set of 4 would cost me $500 for ugly ones and $1200 if in decent condition.
Is this a decent version for playing around with jailbreaks?
My 240d is really tired. Compression is out of spec on 3 cylinders, it uses a whole oil change worth of oil between changes and it won't start below -10c anymore despite having rebuilt injectors. It's got 200k kms on it, but I suspect it did a million before that. Thought it might be worth a shot while I finish up the 300d engine I'll be dropping it it.
The car goes into limp mode due to underboost. Testing N75 solenoid from VCDS makes it buzz while in the off position. This looks like a combined vacuum control unit, not just the N75? Any tips greatly appreciated
I remember watching Jake Wettern all the time, but in 2022 his youtube channel iamjake went dead. I guess people just move and put things behind them sometimes. It's just strange how he never posted anything about quitting youtube or moving on otherwise. Does anyone know what happened or what he does now?
Further researching why my setup is having fps issues, I tested it on a 1440p ultrawide and it ran 60fps constant at full res. Back to the 1080p TV and it dropped to 9fps. If I lower the resulstion in the system menu to 720p I can get it up to 20-30fps. 480 runs 40-50fps. 360p can hit 60fps.
What is going on?
